Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals St Lucia Airport (UVF) in Vieux-Fort

Booked a Jimny 4x4 or similar, 2 days before trip I get a reminder and the car has changed to a Chevy Trax with no 4x4. This is not a similar vehicle and honestly was a waste of time. We went with another company and were lucky to get the car we wanted on such short notice. Felt like a bait and switch

Hired from UVF airport and had no problems. Almost new hybrid SUV that ran without fault. Staff friendly and helpful. Only one small niggle, I wished they didn't remove the load cover from their cars

Had a positive experience with Drive-a-Matic in Vieux Fort. Rented a Suzuki Jimny for one week which was quite a good choice for the frequently challenging roads of St Lucia and drove almost 400km with it without facing any issues. The pick-up and drop-off processes at the Hewanorra UVF airport were fairly good. Emplyeees were friendly. Would recommend it. #StLucia

When we had a flat and needed assistance, Chamla stepped up to the fore. She did her best to find us a tire replacement and then ultimately came through with an upgraded vehicle. We stayed in touch throughout the trip and for that I am grateful. She even got us a good deal on the replacement tyre. Easy pickup and drop off experience

I reserved a small automatic. When I arrived, they had given away my car, and claimed to give me an "upgrade". The supposed upgrade was an old minivan that guzzled gas and had difficulty going up hills. I had to book taxis to take me to several locations because the vehicle would literally start sliding backwards down the hill on moderately steep inclines. I tried to contact the office four times. Each time it was closed, even though I called in the middle of the day each time. This is the worst car rental experience I've had in years. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Rented a car two weeks out with the help of ladies answering the phone and had to get an expensive Jeep and was ok with it as there was limited availability. Received prompt and detailed invoice information when I asked for it ahead of time. When I arrived it was an easy rental, dependable, smooth pickup and drop off at airport. Some improvement would be they could have cars with better tires. The Jeep often slipped and was a bit sketchy with 2 wheel drive on the sharp turns all around the island or when the streets were a bit slick from rain. The Jeep came equipped with 4 wheel drive, however, we were explicitly told that 4 wheel drive is not to be used on paved roads. That feature would only for for off road conditions. If you're sticking to the main paved roads then no need to get 4 wheel drive.

The entire experience was great. They delivered the car to our destination in Soufriere for free. The Jimny was perfect for getting around the island. Evertything went very smooth, would rent from anytime.

We booked Chev Spark and agreed on a Quote and when the car delivery came it was a Chev Trax and the said they are charging $80 more than our agreed price of $180 for two days. The rep was very friendly however she explained that they have not had the Spark for some time so it wouldn't be possible to get. We confirmed our booking via email less than one hour after it was sent yet 12 hours later they messed up our plans for the day. A very dishonest business. Be very careful with them. We cancelled because of dishonesty and their failure to admit a mistake. Honesty is very important especially when renting a vehicle. I would highly advise to stay away from them.
