The woman that worked on September 7th 2024 around 9:30 am was a real piece of work, super disrespectful and inconsiderate. I arrived FINALLY, to this location after about 30 min of looking for DOLLAR car rental. No signs, markings or any indication that DOLLAR is apart of hertz. I expressed my concern to the woman and she looked at me like I was stupid. I explained to her that there isn't anything on Google maps, Apple Maps or in the email confirmation that DOLLAR is a subsidiary of Hertz. So she looked herself, then she went to the website, and showed me..."here, it's right here. If you go to the website you'll find it", she said. I explained to her that 99% of people are going to use google maps to try and find this location and not go to a website. I asked if maybe she could send it up the channel to have someone maybe put out a sign with both DOLLAR and Thrifty outside on the window. She didn't care. Anyway, I'll try and post these pictures hopefully it helps someone out! She told me the car was out on the road ready to go. Peugeot 208 or similar was the economy class and I got a mini cooper. A little smaller than the 208 but apparently it was the same size. Anyway overall the service was could've been better. Facilities - nice inside, awkward parking/return as you basically have to park on the street to return the car. Car rental - was really clean when picked up Return - was smooth and convenient The lady I returned it to Monday morning on the 9th of September 2024, was 1000% more pleasant to interact with. Easy, great customer service and decent person. So she gets this reviewed extra star.
We decided to rent an electric car and had the worst experience. No one at hertz took the time to show us the vehicle. When my husband had questions about the car and asked for help, staff members did not know how the vehicle works and could not answer any questions. One staff member even said that they were new and had no experience. In addition, there were a lot of little annoyances with the car that were distracting like a pop up message that kept appearing in the middle of the drive that blocked the navigation map. The worst part of it however was that half of the charging stations in Valencia do not work. We wasted so much time driving around looking for an EV charging station instead of enjoying the city. People visiting Valencia should know this before renting an electric vehicle. As gold member statud of Hertz, we were truly disappointed with the service, the vehicle and the experience. Renting this car was a complete waste of time and money and ruined our experience for our first time in Valencia.
UPDATE: DO NEVER TAKE THE FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE WITH DISCOUNT! The day I have rented a van, they made an offer for the full coverage insurance with a discount. I have signed for it and all went well. After a month they send me a bill of the FULL AMOUNT to pay, WITHOUT DISCOUNT. I go th the agency and they tell me it is strange but they can not do anything. I have to write an email and wait they charge me the full amount and ask a refund. REPLY FROM THE HERTZ CUSTOMER CARE: NO DISCOUNT, YOU PAY FULL. Right now I am communicating with my lawyer because here we have a clear fraude where the client sign for an amount and later he is billed for another he never agreed. First and last time I rent with them and go back to SIXT which have more clear prices and better cuatomer care. Cheap not always means good
I travel constantly and rent cars everywhere and I can't speak highly enough about the team at this rental location. I have probably rented from them 20 times and every time the service is just top-notch. Even if I have to pay a bit more, I won't rent anywhere else when I come to Valencia at this point.
Finally a rental company without issues! Great support and staff at the desk! I have rented for just one day and they gave me also an upgraded car without any extra cost.
Be careful with this place. They rent out cars with more damage than they report on their system. I found several extra scratches before accepting the car. They added them to the report after I pointed them out. They also give you the car in a darker garage so it's not easy to see all the damage at first. Something eventually went wrong with one of the tires shortly after I left the lot. I brought the car back to exchange and of course, they deflected any responsibility and pinned a 240 euro charge to replace one tire, on me. The damage was undetectable to the eye so it was missed when I checked the car before leaving. I doubt they even replaced the tire for the next renter. Don't expect much in terms of customer service here. Sad really but typical across most car rental spots in Spain. Try to rent cars that are brand new. If it has more than a few scratches on it the chances of something being wrongfully assigned to you are high. Also check for hubcap damage if it's significant there's a chance the tires are also in bad shape. If you can, go with okmobility locally to rent cars. Hertz is a recognized brand but it's not operated that well in Spain.
Update: After not getting through on the phone,I trekked over there and they refunded the erroneous extras with no trouble. Think they have a disgruntled member of staff who messed up. NB they informed me that If you go back the SAME days they can refund and reissue the bill. If the next day or after, it becomes much more complicated. Upgrading to two stars seeing as they did sort it out in the end. Shameful behaviour. Returned the car, but super super long queues inside. After waiting. And at suggestion of the staff, I left them with the key assured that my bill would be forthcoming. It arrived with BOTH a late charge AND an extra day added. Tried calling them on numerous occasions during the rental - no response. Whatever this company used to be, it is not that anymore. Heading down there now to try and sort this out in person. Really disappointed and let down by the sheer inadequacies. Super glad I didn't need more from them. I would NOT recommend them at all. Many many better companies in Valencia.
