Alquicoche Valencia in Valencia

I'm very disappointed with Alquicoche not only for their service but their transparency. My wireless headphones , -Bose-, which I mistakenly left in the Fiat car rented by my husband on Sept 28, mysteriously disappeared in a matter of minutes at the moment we were returning the car. It was overwhelming that morning, we had to be at the airport once we left the car and filed a written complaint (Hoja de Reclamacion) for the bad communication service. Nevertheless, once we were done, Alquicoche provided us with the shuttle service. At the airport, I noticed my wireless . headphones were missing, I called a German friend who was visiting Valencia asking her to pick them for me at the Alquicoche offices, then she could deliver them to me once she goes back to Germany. We live there. Then I called Fernando from Alquicoche asking for my headphones and told that someone was going to pick them up because my husband and I were about to board the plane to Germany. The employee who did the inspection when we handed over the machine , said that , "he never saw my headphones." Handing over the car was a chaos, as they d on't have a place of their own at the Valencia airport, and due to the mess at the beginning with the delivery, we wanted to make sure where exactly to return the car on 8-Oct-2024. My husband wrote a bunch of email s but there was no response. At the end we decided to leave the car at the ir office in Av. El Cid, My headphones were on my lap at that moment. On November 1, 2024, almost three weeks later, after we returned the Fiat car, we got an email from Alquicoche with instructions on where to leave the car. During this vacation, first time in Valencia, we had wonderful travel experiences visitings many villas and people, but we lost precious time trying to find out where to pick the car up, doing the checking out plus my Bose wireless headphones , a travel companion since 2018. A very bitter experience.

Rental Contract 28-09 to 08-0-2024 We rented a vehicle via Check24 for 236.11 EUR and over "Surprice". The contract indicated pick-up and return at the airport terminal. We were in the center of Valencia and traveled half an hour to the airport. In the "car rental" section, no one knew "Surprice". My wife called the "Surprice" number that appeared on the contract but "Alquicoche" answered. They told us to go to parking lot No. 6. Nobody knew how to get there. Finally we found an employee of the general parking lot (?) and he helped us. It was another 15-20 minute walk with our luggage and it was hot. Well, it was very uncomfortable. We arrived and there was no one in car park No. 6, not even a Surprice or Alquicoche sign. After another long wait, a young man in a cream-coloured van came to pick us up and told us that "Surprice" car rental was a "broker" and that they are problematic. He was taking us very close to the centre of Valencia and so after three hours we ended up a few steps from our hotel. Once at the office at Av. Cid 30, Valencia, there were several clients and only one person to assist them. Another long wait. During our turn, the Alquicoche employee told us that we had to pay another 110 EUR, car because I was over 65 years old. We asked him where the payment for this insurance was and he could not answer or show it. I felt pressured and without a way out. Finally, the Alquicoche employee said that he was only going to charge us 50%, i.e. 55.00 EUR. With all this, we had already lost more than half a day of our holidays. In the following days we have tried to find out if we have signed a clause like this (extra cost for age) and we have not found it. In the last few days there was a lot of discussion about where to return the vehicle. The rental contract clearly indicates the return at the Valencia airport terminal, however they (Alquicoche) indicate that it should be at their offices and this for us means traveling about 20 km extra and also the worry of depending on them and therefore, risking missing our return flight to Germany. UPDATE; At dusk on 07/10 after emails and WhatsApps they wrote to us that we can leave the vehicle in P1 with the keys on the wheel, a message without any apology. In the end on 08/10 we decided to leave the car at the offices on Av. El Cid, because it was important for us to express our formal complaint in the "Complaints Sheet". The employee on duty has attended to us cordially.

Rented a car in Barcelona, paid the crossborder fee. Delivered the car well in the timeframe and with fewer kilometers spent than what was the limit, free of any new damages. They still decided to take a chunk out of the deposit without informing about what that was for. After several emails we were told it was new damages to the car. After a couple of weeks asking via email they have still not been able to provide proof of damages, not even able to say where these damages are.

Reliable company with good prices and a kind and helpful staff. Refunds the deposit right after your rental and doesn't waste time on the pick up and drop off. Recommend!

Beware, con artists. Before the rental they were very friendly gave us a pick up service from our hotel. I told the driver I was impressed by the service but he replied let's see if you have the same opinion after returning the car. I thought he was joking. Boy was he right; the nightmare started when we came to return the car. First they tried to charge EUR600 for two scratches lucky for us that we had pictures of the car and were able to prove that these scratches were there before we rented the car. They gave us half tank of fuel and asked us to bring it roughly with the same fuel. Which is strange because usually it's full tank so there is no doubt how much fuel was there. We brought the car back with probably more than that amount but were told we have 5 litres less and there is a EUR30 charge on top the 5 litres fuel. Lucky that we were not in a hurry so were able to top up the fuel. Online booking was in English and the staff spoke very good English but we were given a contract in Spanish with not even a verbal explanation that they restrict the daily use of car to only 150km. We had no idea what was the mileage on the car but they claim we had travelled more kilometres than this "limit." We refused to pay but they still took the money from our card after we left. I don't know how these companies can operate legally. Anyway stay away!!!

The staff was extremely helpful - not just at check in but throughout the whole trip. The cars are clean and new. I'd recommend 100% using thus company. On top of that they have fuel efficient cars and they are the most affordable cars in the whole lot at el prat barcelona.

Very professional , friendly people run this company . Read instructions email carefully to avoid confusion in Barcelona airport. It's big and a lot of other companies operate from it. Otherwise car, price , service is a five stars . Would use again.
