We are extremely happy with the service provided by Cicar! On pickup we got the car extremely quick and they even gave it to us a little bit earlier because we arrived earlier at the airport. The car was very clean and new. When we returned it - we gave it back a couple of hours later and it was no problem, they didn't even charge us extra. Drop off was also very smooth and quick. 10/10 we recommend this company. Prices are great too!

Very bad service. At the beginning of my holiday had to wait 3 hours in queue just to get the car. No people to help and serve us, only two people at the desk with a very long queue going very slow. If you know the incoming flights are going to be busy-increase staff. Don't make people waste valuable holiday time because of your lack of organisation. Or put faster people at the desks. Tip- put two queues for those who already have paid and done everything and only have to get the car, and those who still have to do everything. All in all very bad experience.

Book through Cabrera Medina website for best price. You usually get a car of similar or better spec but not the one you book. No wait to get keys, receptionist was very nice. Our car was full to full fuel so they took a deposit of around EUR50, this was refunded when we returned the car. We had a nice new Cupra, some dents so just make sure you give rental cars a once over. I take pictures to prove the damage was already there. Return was easy, give yourself some time to find the right place and a parking spot in correct Cicar bays.

He was fast, efficient and really polite, I probably waited about 20 minutes which wasn't bad (Mid August, the airport was absolutely packed). I booked cars twice with cicar, last time took a car next to my hotel in south of Gran Canaria and returned at airport that is very convenient option. The service is good, cars work perfectly fine, prices are very fair. For the 2nd booking I've got a free upgrade that I appreciate a lot I would not recommend getting electric cars for long rides, it's very hard to find chargers, especially ones working without local charging cards.

But what is happening to CICAR??? For years we have rented from Cicar on all our trips to the Canary Islands and we are delighted. Once again the rental car, almost new, is very satisfactory; But why wait an hour and we were lucky! (those behind us had left for more than 3 hours....) to validate a reservation made on the Internet??? Only one person at the counter for all this crowd!! There would be room for 4 or 5 people at reception but there was only one! Very kind indeed but what a waste of time. When you have just traveled 5 hours on a plane, plus the waits and delays, you would like car rental to be just a formality of a few minutes!

I transcribe all the negative reviews regarding the wait (both at the airport reception and when picking up the car), to the excuses they give you that they have to wash it and it will be ready in 20 minutes (we already expect 30 in the reception queue). If I make a reservation months in advance to be there at a specific time, the car must be ready at that time, no excuses, it is bad service and thats it. It is true that it did not happen to us in Lanzarote and we went with the same company. In Gran Canaria, from what I see in the rest of the reviews, they have a problem.

The best car rental in the Canary Islands! We had a super new and modern Seat Arona, the staff is funny and nice. The waiting times are moderate, everything is completely normal. What I think is great is that there is always a deductible reduction to 0, the km are included and a second driver is also included. The prices are also very good. I would only ever book with this provider in the Canary Islands. Much better than the competition!

We had reserved a Corsa or comparable several months in advance. When we wanted to pick up the car, we had to wait 1.5 hours to complete the rental agreement, despite the reservation. When we picked up the car, we were told that it would take a few minutes longer because it was still being cleaned (note, due to the long wait, we were now at the pickup significantly later than stated in the reservation). When, after a long wait, there was still no car, I asked and we were given a slightly larger car at no extra charge. The car wasnt the newest, but I think its okay given the low price. After a short time we had problems with the tire pressure, which we were able to fix ourselves. Later there was no coolant, luckily we were near a gas station and were able to buy some. With the second problem, we were driving in the mountains, so we could have ended up stranded on some unsafe road with engine failure. We had to wait quite a long time until the engine was cool enough to refill the water. So our daily plan was also thrown into disarray. We got the money for the cooling water replaced. We had clarified this with Cicar before purchasing. We did not receive any type of compensation regarding our inconvenience due to the defects. I dont expect nice cars from such a cheap provider, but I would have liked a car that didnt show an error message twice in a short period of time. I didnt have the feeling that the cars were adequately maintained and therefore safety risks could arise.

Als wir den Wagen abholen wollten, mussten wir trotz der Reservierung 1,5 Stunden warten, um den Mietvertrag abzuschliessen. Beim Abholen des Autos wurde uns gesagt, dass es ein paar Minuten langer dauern wurde, da es noch gereinigt wurde (merke, aufgrund der langen Wartezeit waren wir nun deutlich spater beim Pickup als in der Reservierung angegeben). Als nach langerer Wartezeit immer noch kein Auto da war, fragte ich nach und wir bekamen einen etwas grosseren Wagen ohne Aufpreis. Das Auto war schon nicht mehr das neueste, finde ich aber bei dem gunstigen Preis voll in Ordnung. Wir hatten bereits nach kurzer Zeit Probleme mit dem Reifendruck, den wir selbst beheben konnten. Spater fehlte Kuhlwasser, zum Gluck waren wir in der Nahe einer Tankstelle und konnten welches kaufen. Bei dem zweiten Problem waren wir in den Bergen unterwegs, wir hatten also auch auf irgendeiner unsicheren Strasse mit Motorschaden liegen bleiben konnen. Wir mussten recht lange warten, bis der Motor ausreichend kuhl war, um das Wasser nachzufullen. Somit war unser Tagesplan auch durcheinander geworfen. Ersetzt bekommen haben wir das Geld fur das Kuhlwasser. Dies hatten wir vor dem Kauf mit Cicar abgeklart. Bezuglich unserer Unannehmlichkeiten aufgrund der Mangel haben wir keine Art von Kompensation erhalten. Ich erwarte von einem so gunstigen Anbieter keine hubschen Autos, aber ich hatte mir ein Auto gewunscht, was nicht zweimal innerhalb einer kurzen Zeit eine Fehlermeldung anzeigt. Ich hatte nicht das Gefuhl, dass die Autos ausreichend gewartet werden und somit Sicherheitsrisiken auftreten konnen.

Cicar, they force us to rent an electric car, with limited kilometers and warning us not to charge it. It turns out that the cars autonomy is not enough for everything we have to do. We called so that we could go to Cicar and charge the car a little, they told us that they will not charge it for us and that if we run out of battery, it is our responsibility, we have to pay the tow truck and the corresponding fine. All this without us having booked a damn electric car, much less with so little autonomy. Osea, vienes a la isla un fin de semana, pagas un alquiler carisimo por un coche y encima, te meten un electrico a calzador y no puedo moverme por culpa del coche. Esto no tiene ningun sentido.
