Waited for 80 minutes to get the key, that was finally done and then the parking office was closed. Nice way to start your holiday. Won't advise to rent a car at this office.

No problems on the rental. No queue on pick-up, was given a car two classes above my reservation with only 5000km on the odometer, though it was a Citroen it was still a reasonably good car to drive. No hassle or queue on return either. 4* since it was a rather long walk from arrivals to the end of the whole terminal complex to pick up & return the car.

Wait time at airport was over an hour to collect car. Not fast track in operation at Gran Canaria. Not a great experience post flight. Car fine. Drop off fast at end but Avis have to fix the collection process. Not enough staff and should be automated.

We got upgraded from our car model for no extra charge. The staff was friendly all the way and there were absolutely no problems. The car was in great shape and we climbed all the mountains with ease. The car had Android Auto so we used google maps for gps.

Anyone who rents here has to be prepared for trouble... We rented a car in August 2024 and at first everything seemed problem-free. However, after two days, just as we were about to drive into a parking garage, the tire pressure monitor went off and a few seconds later the tire was flat. After a quick check, we discovered neither a foreign body nor a large gap. The tire had barely noticeable hairline cracks on the tread, so it was simply worn out... We spent ages on the phone with Avis and received over 5!!! Put off for hours. Mind you, we were in the capital, so less than 20 minutes away from Avis via the motorway. We were told to stay at the car (in an underground car park with constant engine noise and exhaust fumes) because we were repeatedly told that someone would come in the next 30 minutes. The biggest shame is that after hanging up after the first phone call, 105 was charged on the credit card without any help on site. After 5 hours, an Avis roadside service employee who only spoke Spanish came and tried to patch the tire. After several failed attempts, we agreed that the temporary spare tire was the only option. So we paid 105 plus parking fees for 5 hours in the parking garage and switching to the emergency bike, which we could have done ourselves in 10 minutes. After assembly, we had to pay the hefty parking fee for the past 5 hours and drove to Avis at the airport. We got the car changed relatively easily on site, but the Avis employee gave us absolutely no response. Neither an apology, nor the calculated costs, nor the parking fees or anything similar. We certainly dont see the blame for the broken tire as ours. After all, we lost a whole day of vacation, with stress and anger on top of that. And it turned out that we werent even allowed to change the tire ourselves. Youd rather leave your customers sitting in an underground car park for 5 hours and rip off 105. Even a subsequent complaint didnt help, everything was rejected and no accommodation was shown. The highlight was that after 3 months we were charged for the lack of fuel in the vehicle that had broken down because we had a spare tire and didnt fill up in the evening just before the Avis branch closed. NEVER AGAIN AVIS! HANDS OFF!

Wer hier mietet, muss sich auf Arger einstellen Wir hatten im August 2024 ein Auto gemietet und zu Anfang schien alles problemlos. Nach zwei Tagen jedoch meldete sich, gerade als wir in ein Parkhaus fahren wollten, die Reifendruckkontrolle und wenige Sekunden spater war der Reifen platt. Nach einem kurzen Check haben wir weder einen Fremdkorper noch einen groben Schlitz entdeckt, der Reifen hatte auf der Laufflache kaum erkennbare Haarrisse, war also einfach verschlissen Wir haben Ewigkeiten mit Avis telefoniert und wurden uber 5!!! Stunden hinweg vertrostet. Wohlgemerkt waren wir in der Hauptstadt, also keine 20 min. uber die Autobahn von Avis entfernt. Wir sollten am Auto bleiben (in einer Tiefgarage mit andauerndem Motorenlarm und Abgasen) weil wir immer wieder vertrostet wurden, dass in den nachsten 30 min. jemand kommen wurde. Die grosste Frechheit ist, dass bereits nach dem Auflegen nach dem ersten Telefonat auf der Kreditkarte 105 berechnet wurden, ohne dass auch nur ansatzweise Hilfe vor Ort war. Nach 5 Stunden kam ein Mitarbeiter vom Pannendienst von Avis, der nur Spanisch konnte und versucht hat den Reifen zu flicken. Nach mehreren gescheiterten Versuchen haben wir uns darauf geeinigt, dass das Notrad die einzige Moglichkeit ware. Ergo haben wir 105 plus Parkgebuhren fur 5 Stunden in dem Parkhaus und Wechsel auf das Notrad bezahlt, was wir selber in 10 min. hatten erledigen konnen. Nach Montage mussten wir die doch stattliche Parkgebuhr der 5 vergangenen Stunden bezahlen und sind zum Flughafen zu Avis gefahren. Vor Ort haben wir zwar relativ problemlos das Auto gewechselt bekommen, trotzdem kam von der Mitarbeiterin bei Avis absolut null entgegenkommen. Weder eine Entschuldigung, noch die berechneten Kosten, noch die Parkgebuhren oder ahnliches. Die Schuld an dem kaputten Reifen sehen wir sicher nicht auf unserer Seite. Schliesslich haben wir auch einen ganzen Urlaubstag verloren, den Stress und Arger obendrauf. Und dabei stellte sich heraus, dass wir den Reifen noch nicht einmal selber hatten wechseln durfen. Da lasst man seine Kunden lieber 5 Stunden in einer Tiefgarage sitzen und zockt 105 ab. Auch eine nachtragliche Beschwerde hat nichts gebracht, es wurde alles abgewiesen und kein Entgegenkommen gezeigt. Als Hohepunkt wurde nun nach 3 Monaten noch der fehlende Sprit des Pannenfahrzeugs in Rechnung gestellt, weil wir mit Notrad und kurz vor Schliessung der Avis-Filiale abends auch nicht mehr Tanken waren. NIE WIEDER AVIS! FINGER WEG!

They left me stranded at the Gran Canaria airport! Having my reservation, they didnt let me get the car because my physical credit card had expired! They didnt give me any solution, nor any other payment method! Having my digital card on the iPhone like everyone uses nowadays! They kept me there for two hours and made me leave by bus and ruined my trip to Gran Canaria and my entire day!

Honestly I have to say the same as most of the previous reviews!! The service was very poor and slow.. Being a preferred customer, I had to wait an hour and a quarter (when there were only 5 customers in front of me) and the rest of the offices with 5 times more customers were 3 times faster.. after having the car reserved. 5 days before and full credit. (where you only have to sign and they give you the key). After all this, they sent me to pick up the vehicle and the car was not there, because it came from the car wash (and it was not really washed)... in short, this office is a disaster in terms of management. Im sorry to say this, but either they improve their efficiency or this Avis office is not recommended at all.

Despues de todo esto me mandan para recojer el vehiculo y el coche no estaba, porque venia del lavadero ( y no venia realmente lavado ) .. en fin , un desastre esta oficina en terminos de gestion. Siento decir esto , pero o mejoran su eficiencia o Para nada recomendable esta oficina de Avis.
