Rent from the airport. The operation outside the Santa Justa train station is not a really good one. I booked a car for 2 days for a total of $171.49 for both days and ended up being charged for $281.73 because they sold me collision damage waiver insurance which I did not need. Check with your insurance and card company before you buy insurance. The people at the Hertz office either don't know what is needed or just plain selling you something you don't need.
Unfortunately, we had a problem with this car rental company in Seville, Spain. They charged a second full coverage insurance policy (we had the first one purchased from a rental agency, Do You Spain). This was done, so to speak, on the sly, as the rental staff simply pushed over a document for us to sign - we believed it was a confirmation of the deal we had with DYS, but could not be more wrong. So we ended up paying for 2 insurance policies. We tried dealing with both Hertz and DYS and nothing worked - they had our signature on the slip. A word of warning for everyone: double check what you are signing. It is disappointing that Hertz has a policy of "pushing" extra policies and not asking questions. This should not be the case for a global car rental company.
We hired a car from Hertz at their Santa Justa, Seville branch. We had pre-booked online. The pick up was very quick and seamless. The drop off was a bit slower as there was a queue. The staff were very helpful and polite. Overall an excellent experience.
Drop out perfect, quick, efficient, at 08:00 when office opens. No surprise on final bill, as announced during check in in Malaga.
Our recent car rental experience was, well, underwhelming. The dashboard was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, which made us question their overall hygiene standards. They have only one car available whether you call or book online. When we called, they were eager to help us book the car. Suspicious, I asked if it cost more to book through the phone than online. The staff confirmed it would be more expensive, so keep this in mind before booking by phone. The car itself was very old, full of scratches, only used diesel, and was manual. A small but considerate touch would have been a protective sheet in the back for luggage. Unfortunately, our bags ended up quite dirty because the back was so dirty.
hangugbundeul nuntaengi majji maseyo. dongyihaji anheun obsyeoneuro don ddeudeogabnida. We're experiencing the worst experience in Spain due to Hertz. We rented a vehicle in Sevilla and returned in Cordoba. We fully filled up the fuel tank but they charged us EUR90.0 by not returning the Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) deposit. 1. As someone explained below, Hertz applied the FPO option without agreement. Hertz explained that we'll receive the deposit once we fully fill up the tank but the truth was not. 2. Due to inconvenient, unclear instruction to return the vehicle in Cordoba, we spent almost an hour to get to the right direction. Hertz still insists that they cannot return the FPO deposit of EUR90.0, but this is truly unfair for customers. I used to had good experiences with Hertz in other countries, but in Spain, it's horrible.
One day rent I booked for Euro 66 and with upsell and scared tactics landed paying Euro 166 .... considering my premium US credit card covers rental car damage. I felt cheated and It's so stupid to loose loyalty of a customer like this.
Terrible experience, they stole EUR80 from us. We rented the car for 5 days, and the guy from the first rental in Valencia didn't tell us that we had to return the car exactly at the time we picked it up, but he told us "in the morning more or less at the time you picked it up" without telling us that if we had delayed a little they would have charged us for a whole day, so as we had problems with the car we arrived an hour later and without telling us anything they added EUR80 to the payment. On top of that, the first day we got the car it kept telling us that the tires were flat, only realising afterwards that one of the wheels had been punctured from the start .. be careful... they are thieves
