Avoid renting a car from Oasis on Pico. A warning light came on in the car and after contact with Oasis we were told to return it for a new one. They didn't offer to come and replace so we had to cancel our trip around the island for this and received no compensation. We were told that this is a car and it can break. The replacement car was smaller and worse but they wanted the same price. The staff are ignorant and arrogant, so we recommend everyone to turn to another company. Car rentels in Madalena offers drop off on other destinations on Pico.

I was in pico in september 2024, i rented a car from oasis, the car was good with some littles signs but we wrote evrything with the employee. The price was one of the best that i found at the last moment and i had not problems with the deposit that i had back in one week.

Beware of this company and avoid it if possible. They are scammers. Of course, given the Azores' capacity in relation to the number of people visiting, they will continue to get customers and keep on cheating people. Similar to some stories written in these reviews before us, my wife and I had to pay an absurd amount of money for "damage" despite getting the full insurance package. There were two small dents (about 1 cm in width) on the passenger's doors, which cost us 200EUR (which is the supposed maximal amount if you take the full insurance). We didn't notice the dents nor did we take pictures of the whole car when we rented it, which was our mistake. We did not damage it ourselves, of that we are sure. If you do rent a car with this company, make sure to take photos of the whole car! The car had otherwise had many other small bruises and dents (that the lady did mark before renting), which are obviously not getting repaired or otherwise taken care of. Long story short, we had to pay 200 EUR for minor, superficial damage even with full insurance. Definitely avoid Oasis.

Rented a car in July for 5 days wh pick up from the airport. No queue as for the other rentals. I've noticed some dents in the car after leaving the airport. I called the office and they have no problem accepting them. I travelled wh the car in Faial and Sao Jorge. I scratched the car and everything was very quickly revolved when I went to their office at Sao Roque. Very kind personnel, very good English spoken. Highly recommended.

My experience with them was good, i arrived to Sao Roque by ferry and i had to go to their office to get the car, i had no appointment whatsoever. I had an Opel Corsa pretty new, the car was fine and i returned it to the airport, where the office lady was very helpful (she inspected the car while i was at check in and also found something that i forgot in the car). Also the deposit made was unblocked at the same time.

Good car rental with very good prices. Easy pickup process on the airport, car in a good condition. Easy return. They gave us a few extra hours, because our ferry were leaving later. You need credit card for rental, no possibility to rent without.

The car had countless scratches and dents. So many that they couldnt be seriously documented in a paper log. When it was returned there was a tiny scratch. You would think that it wouldnt matter anymore given the situation. Luckily I was able to prove with a photo that this scratch was already there. Nevertheless, a bad impression remains.

We had a rental car for 2 weeks, borrowed from the airport and were traveling to Pico, Sao Jorge and Fajal. The Renault Captur was no longer the latest model, but despite 100,000 km it was technically completely fine. We had no problems and were able to manage all routes (some of them very bad and steep roads) without any problems. The handover and return was uncomplicated and the lady at reception was extremely nice and helpful. A video to document existing damage upon pickup is useful for every car rental company. But honesty when returning items should also be a given. However, with a little caution and consideration, you can return a car without (new) dents and scratches, even on poor and narrow roads. I can definitely recommend Oasis Rent-a-car and am pleased to have chosen a local provider.

Wir hatten fur 2 Wochen einen Mietwagen, ausgeliehen am Flughafen und waren unterwegs auf Pico, Sao Jorge und Fajal. Der Renault Captur war zwar nicht mehr das neueste Modell, war aber trotz 100.000km technisch vollkommen in Ordnung. Wir hatten keine Probleme und konnten alle Strecken (teilweise auch sehr schlechte und steile Strassen) einwandfrei bewaltigen. Die Ubergabe und Rucknahme war unkompliziert und die Dame am Empfang war aussergewonlich nett und hilfsbereit. Ein Video zur Dokumentation von vorhandenen Schaden bei Ubernahme ist bei jeder Autovermietung sinnvoll. Ehrlichkeit bei der Ruckgabe sollte aber auch selbstverstandlich sein. Man kann aber mit etwas Vorsicht und Rucksicht auch bei schlechten und engen Strassen ein Auto ohne (neue) Dellen und Kratzer zuruckgeben. Ich kann Oasis Rent-a-car auf jeden Fall empfehlen und freue mich, einen lokalen Anbieter gewahlt zu haben.

Under no circumstances should you rent a car here, its a complete rip-off. We were first given a broken car. When it broke down, we were given a replacement car without proper acceptance because no one had time for it. When we brought the car back, we were charged 50 euros for minimal scratches that the car already had when we picked it up. The boss is extremely rude and insulted us in Portuguese (she didnt know that I cant speak Portuguese but can understand it). They refused to issue an invoice for the 50 and we were only given an invoice after another ten minutes of laborious discussion. The staff is very slow and incompetent and it took another 20 minutes to print the bill. This was by far my worst rental car experience to date. Please dont do this to yourself during your vacation and choose another rental service.

Das Personal ist sehr langsam und inkompetent und das Ausdrucken der Rechnung hat weitere 20 Minuten gedauert. Bis jetzt war das mit Abstand meine schlechteste Erfahrung mit Mietautos. Tun Sie sich das in Ihrem Urlaub bitte nicht an und wahlen Sie einen anderen Leihservice.

We rented a car for 5 days in Pico. The price was normal, bordering on expensive. The car they gave us had damage everywhere (roofs, doors, hoods, mirrors, trunk, tires, etc.). At the moment the car is delivered to us, the company worker is in a hurry and the damage is evaluated without much care. When returning the car, they look for any minor damage to see if they can keep part of the deposit money. In a car with so many damages it is impossible to report all the damages, thank goodness we made a detailed video and were able to show that the scratch was already there before using it. If it hadnt been for the video, we would have lost part of the deposit due to a scratch that we didnt make.

Alquilamos un coche para 5 dias en Pico. El precio era normal tirando a caro. El coche que nos dieron tenia desperfectos en todas partes ( techos, puertas, capos, retrovisores, maletero, llantas, etc). En el momento en el que nos entregan el coche el trabajador de la compania tiene prisa y los desperfectos son evaluados sin mucho cuidado. Al devolver el coche se fijan en cualquier minimo desperfecto para ver si se pueden quedar con parte del dinero de la fianza. En un coche con tantos desperfectos es imposible notificar todos los desperfectos, menos mal que hicimos un video detallado y pudimos demostrar que el aranazo ya estaba antes de usarlo. Sino llega a ser por el video habriamos perdido parte de la fianza por un aranazo que no hicimos.

They take advantage of the dominant position they had - the credit card deposit - to not respond to messages and leave the full response until moments before the return flight. They treat customers who have documentary evidence of the condition of the tire before and after the puncture, as well as the location where it occurred, as responsible for punctures without any justification. I cannot recommend this car rental company. I rented a car for two days and paid 100, in the low season. The car had various scratches and was dirty on the hood. Some of the employees seemed annoyed and not motivated.

If I had to give you advice: Flee this agency! I have been planning my trip to the Azores archipelago for many months. Everything was going wonderfully until we arrived at the Oasis agency at Pico airport. The lady informs us that no vehicles are available and that an email has been sent to let us know. I quote the email received at 10:55 a.m.: please arrive before 12 p.m. so that your vehicle can be confirmed, after this time your reservation will be canceled. Knowing that I sent my flight number and that the agency knew very well that I was arriving at 1:30 p.m. The flight was 1 hour late, there were 3 of us renting a car and our reservation was cancelled! To conclude, I really advise you not to rent from this agency and to prioritize their competitors such as Ilha Verde or Tropical Rent a Car.

Very bad experience! We reserve a car online several weeks before our trip, we are sent an email saying that there are 3 travelers who want a car, that there are only 2 cars available on these dates and that the first 2 to respond will have the cars. We respond and receive a confirmation email. Arrived there, no car for us, we actually received an email at 11 a.m. the same day saying that we had to confirm that we still wanted the car, if we did not respond before 12 p.m. the reservation was canceled. We were in transport to come, no way to see the email in time. Very poor organization of reservation and car rental! And no apologies from them just smiles To avoid because we now find ourselves without a car on Pico!

If I could have given 0 stars, this is what I would have given. Vehicle reserved months in advance for cancellation 1 hour before our arrival on the island. An email was sent to us asking us to confirm our reservation. If we do not respond within an hour, our reservation will be canceled. Small problem it was not possible for us to respond knowing that we were in mid-flight. The agency knew very well what time we were going to arrive, knowing that our flight number had been sent to them. In the end 4 days on Pico Island without a vehicle and without an excuse and they had the nerve to tell us that they had forgotten to call us to confirm our reservation. A word of advice to avoid!

Horrible experience with this company. we want a car for 7 hours, its out of season and the lady gives us a category C car, telling us that there is nothing else available even though the parking lot is full. just to pay more. the company is 5 minutes from the port, they ask us 10 euros more to bring us. impossible to leave the car there. and the icing on the cake, she asks for another 15 euros to leave the car for us until 7 p.m. then (because they close at 6 p.m.) but supposedly we rent for 24 hours.
