I have just been charged 4.900 euros for a 1 day rental, with the charge being automatically put on my card with no damage report provided, in spite of returning the keys directly to the Avis rep in the car park. The "reparacion" amount was a tidy 3.500 euros exactly, before IVA. That's an interesting and very well-rounded figure for a damage repair.... I'm still waiting for an explanation and report. Beware!!!
Using Quick Pass registration made the whole process very simple. Obviously it's not a huge airport but service was quick and friendly. Found the car easily in the parking area. Drop off a breeze.

Great experience renting a new Ford Focus in Spain from Avis. Drove from Asturias to Lisbon over a 10 day period with no issues. Manual trans, GPS navigation and enough storage for two on a long trip. Got us where we needed to go in comfort. Would do it again no question.
Hi, I've made booking online via Volotea and also bought third party insurance (AXA) with Volotea. Also registered for quick pass online which made pick up very fast. Even though I booked SUV Seat Ateca with automatic transmission or similar, I got Toyota Corola Hybrid Family also with automatic. I was a bit disappointed that I did not get an SUV since I wanted to try one, but Corola was not bad and could fit all passengers and luggage comfortably. I was happy to try hybrid. When picking up the car, I had to sign for the car damages before actually seeing the car, so I asked what if I find something that is not listed. I was told that I can inspect the car and get back to the counter if I find anything and I found some damages that were not listed. I went back to the counter and explained that car has damages that are not listed and the lady went with me to the car to inspect. I recorded the whole inspection so I will have proof. Some damages like scratches were not even considered as damages, and some damage on the rims were indeed undocumented and where put into the system by the lady. Since I got everything recorded, I had solid evidence that it was there before. I took the car after examination and new damages added to the list. When returning the car, I asked that it will be inspected in my presence and signed by an employee so I won't get surprises when I leave the car since I have all the evidence. The same lady inspected the car in my presence and signed off that all is good and I don't need to pay anything since I've already paid for the booking. So all in all, it was a good experience, but I had to spend time to inspect the car myself, then inspect with the employee and record everything. Not sure how it would have went if I haven't done that. My advice, double check everything and gather evidence before signing anything. Other than that, I can recommend Avis and would rent from them again, even though I did not get the car I wanted, the car I got was a good replacement.
800EUR for a 2 day rental and for a car that wasn't even properly cleaned up since it had hair everywhere. The girl at the counter was extremely nice and I'm sure it's not her fault but today Avis lost a client for life.
I would never book from this office again. First they tell you that they charge you for a full tank and then if you show them that you fill up the car at a nearby gas station they will remove that charge as long as you show it. This never happened! Second they charge you for damages to a car that clearly show it wasn't done by you and that were already in place. The worst part is that they review the car once you drop off without you therefore they make the charges to the credit card and is now up to me to make the corresponding claims. Please note the office was open so they could have review the car when I drop it off but they didn't give me that option they just told me to drop off the keys. Sorry Avis! Worst experience ever!
I got overcharged for 0.8 hours of rental car. I was told that for 45 min extra, this was an extra day, with a cost of more than EU 130. This does not make any sense. Most companies gives about one hour flexibility and in some cases they may charge after the second hour (hour rate), until reaching a point that makes more sense to charge the whole day.
