I booked a car in Budget (AVIS low-cost brand), and I was very happy with the whole experience. Attentive service, good car (completely new, clean and neat, maybe a bit too tall), no waiting time (on this, I was maybe just lucky), transparent information, easy to return, no issues. It was a pleasure to drive, and I hope to repeat the experience.

This Avis location provided prompt service, a vehicle as expected and clean, and a pleasant customer service experience. Very well managed.

On returning the car, we almost missed our train in Madrid because we could not find the Avis office in the Charmartin Train Station. We circled around the train station for over one hour. There is a large construction project at the station and the rental car office has been movedg. However, there are no signs and we finally had to leave the car in the public parking garage. On top of this, I was overcharged for fuel and the drop off at a different location than the pickup. I will not be using Avis again for quite a while.

Excellent service, no hassles. Staff was professional, offered various upgrades options without being pushy. Did not oversell additional insurance. Returning vehicle was even easier, no scam of finding damages like a I had previously with a competitor company. Ana was very kind, quick and professional. Will certainly keep using Avis in the future.

Price and condition of the car were excellent but service was terrible. No one answered the phone repeatedly so to extend the rental we had to go in person to the airport and find the employee who was not at the desk. When we returned the car no one could be found and we had to go into the airport terminal to find an employee.

Update - we contacted Avis via IM and they are not interested in helping or listening, "local Avis" have made a decision! So DO NOT use. --- Do not use. If you do beware. We rented a car in April 2023 and used online check in for the first time. We think it automatically selects all optional extras. When we picked up the car it was very busy. We told the agent we did not need extra insurance as we have a separate policy. The agent was rushed and presented a screen for signing, we signed. He did not take us through the contract. Next day we saw on the email contract that we had signed for every optional extra. We contacted the reservations email (and never received a response). After we returned the car we complained about the service and process we had received. All that Avis say is "you signed the contract". They completely ignore any errors that their agent made in the process. So Avis have lost all of our future business - very short sighted of them.

A very good car rental. They gave me better and bigger car than I ordered for the same price, just because I needed bigger luggage space. The final price was even lower than proposed at website. The car itself was in good shape, clean and driving perfectly. Another positive was that I didnt needed credit card to rent a car, they accepted debit card with no problem. They also didnt had any problems with us being a bit late. The personal was nice, kind and helpful.
