Stranded on the motorway between Bilbao and Santander for +3 hours. Hertz employees not only are incompetent they do not know what emphaty is! They handed out to us a full electric car and told us it was a hybrid. After they left us in a very dangerous situation for three and a half hours the manager of the Santander office treated us horribly. She was so rude! This happened on Aug 23rd 2024 and as of today Hertz has not replied to our complaints!!!!
Thieves. Took a 177 euro deposit from my credit card when I collected the car. Car was returned in perfect condition with a full tank of petrol, now over a month later I have received nothing from the company. No money, no acknowledgement of return, nothing. Attempted to complain via their website: pointless. I expect better from Hertz, I guess I have learned my lesson.
I had booked a car at 21:30, the booking was confirmed and paid, and I had provided my flight number. My flight was delayed for about an hour, and when we arrived the office was closed, there was no emergency number, nothing. All other rental offices were still open and waiting for the delayed flight, past 22:30 even though their closing time was 22:00. But Hertz was closed, and not just since 22:00, but since 16:00, according to the notice posted, on Sundays they close at 16:00. It seems even without the delay the office would have been closed. I don't understand how they accept a booking outside of their opening hours if they don't intend to send someone to the office. We were not the only ones, they had several customers on the same flight. I had to wait for over an hour until the other companies had dealt with their booked customers to rent another car on the spot with another company, for double the price of my previous booking.
Friendly staff and car okay but really disappointed by the services offered as it is all made up as a lie. I bought an insurance when reserving the car but had to pay for another one when collecting the car for the same price as the initial booking. I finally ended up paying more than twice the price (PS112 initially + PS181 afterwards) and was charged extra for I still don't know why as nobody answer the phone and my email is still unanswered... The car was back with no damages and the full insurance was anyway covering everythg so just be prepared to pay much more!
I rented a car with Dollar which belongs to Hertz. Decent price for an automatic car for a whole week. When collecting I was offered an upgrade (new and bigger car). Friendly staff. When returning the car, the fuel level sensor wasn't working because after I filled up the tank it wasn't showing full so I sent an email straight away explaining that, as I was returning the car outside of opening hours. They didn't read my email and charged me the tank deposit but after contacting them they returned back the money.
Excellent service, we are 100% satisfied!! A couple of weeks ago, two relatives from Greece came to visit us and needed to rent a car for a day. Hertz provided us with a brand new car at an amazing price (the best on the market at the time). We didn't need to book the car the day before, as they informed us that there would definitely be a car available immediately. The next morning, we went to the Hertz counter at the airport and a very polite and helpful lady gave us the keys to a brand new car. In closing, I would like to say that not only was there a car readily available, but we had a choice of three new cars, in the displacements we were interested in. Great job guys! Thanks a lot!
We booked two cars but for some reason 1 got canceled. after an hour of discussion they offered us the second car for three (!!!) times the price we found online. we couldn't book online directly because apparently it takes multiple hours for the online reservation to get through. big scam. avoid at all costs
Hertz station at the airport: We were given a wrong car type first. After the complaint we got a car, at which we discovered another clearly visible, unspecified scratch and complained. 2 other small scratches we had not seen in the dark transfer area on the wet vehicle. These were promptly billed to us at the return. Dubious service providers.
