do not rent with them !!! they are adding gasoil for 2 EUR per liter and add you taxes.... that they'll not refund. They do not care after your deal that you made online. They speak only spanish and a bit english. They are expensive but adding you many many taxes and fees that they are not correct !
The young lady who handled the pick up was friendly, knowledgeable and a credit to the Goldcar team. The car was excellent and the drop off was easy. I would recommend Goldcar at Granada Airport.
We rented a car in Granada and returned in Valencia. The Goldcar employee marked scratches on the car into a form and gave us a copy. Luckily we made photographs of the car cause many scratches were not properly described. Upon returning the car we had many issues proving that all the scratches were already there before we took the car. Avoid.
I rented an SUV from them, they were able to accommodate me on the spot and offered me a good vehicle at a very reasonable price, the staff spoke very good English and French and were very friendly. They also abided by their terms without exploiting any loopholes to get more money from us, I say this because I had returned the car with some scratches and they returned my deposit whole and said not to worry as this is what the insurance I had paid for was for. My only complaint is that they don't have enough branches! I really would like to rent more often from them!
Very good cars for a low price. Really nice staff at the desk here. Customerfriendly and they know their business. When making reservations online don't include any insurance, because you will get better offers at the desk on location. Also pay attention to the opening hours of the desk when tou want to extend your reservation. This can only be done at the desk and not by phone.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOLDCAR AT ALL! DO NOT to use this car hire company no matter what PS$EUR you think you might be saving. If you read through the other reviews you will see that they regularly scam people by overcharging them for damage or mess that the customer has not made. They will take unauthorized money from your credit card and then ignore any communication from you. I was charged EUR210 for a 'deep clean' to a passenger seat that no one sat in the entire duration of my hire. I even took a photo when collecting the car but was assured I would NOT be charged (see photo). I was pressured to take out a high-cost insurance and threatened that ANY damage to the car will result in a loss of my deposit. 'Some' hire car companies might pay their representatives comission to sell insurance at a huge mark up even if you have already taken insurance with an App like RentalCar OR are already covered by a credit card service. The Vehicle. I was given a car that looked as though it had been in a serious road traffic accident including damage to the roof!!! (See photo of map of damage to the car). When I complained to the Goldcar representative in the office they said 'Don't worry, it drives okay and you will not be charged for any damage because every panel of the body work is already affected'. What I hadn't accounted for were the human sweat mark stains on the passenger side that would not be included in the map of 'damage' to the vehicle so I took a photo for my own records as I felt that this was unhygienic and did not want to be held accountable when returning the vehicle (again, please see photo as evidence). When returning the car (at 5.30am) to the airport, I could not get the vehicle checked and had to drop the keys in a box. One hour later I received an email charging me EUR210 for a deep clean due to the state of the passenger seat - that I had documented and questioned when I picked the car up. Customer Service As of 6th December, over 9 weeks later, I have not been able to get in touch with a human being at Goldcar. They have ignored all my emails and any further investigation sends me to an email address which no one answers. It is impossible to speak on the telephone with someone and they will not call you at all. Please also note, that if they reply to this review, they will advise that I click on a link which is a landing page to a site that suggests I send an email to the address that I have been emailing since September.....with absolutely zero response (see photo of previous responses to my review). In attempts to post an honest consumer review Goldcar have also blocked it several times. If only they put as much effort into customer service as they do censoring feedback and reviews. In my experience, Goldcar make their money from renting out damaged vehicles then charging the customer for that damage made unless you take out their very costly insurance.
I went with gold car to save the hassle of going by bus... in the end the car was double the hassle. Even though I paid for full insurance, gold car took a PS1000 deposit from me. The car they gave me over heated after one hour or driving... my four hour drive took six because of all the stops. They changed the car for me at my destination which took two hours - but at least I had a functioning car for the return journey. Now they won't give me my deposit back until the garage checks the car that overheated. As if it's my fault they gave me a broken car... The customer service has been terrible. I've been told to email my complaint and got an automated response that they aim to reply to complaints in 14 days Appalling service Don't use this company... it's seems like they offer the best price but it's not worth it
I have used Gold car at Granada for the last couple of years (10 times) and never had any issues , the cars and staff always been very good . On the 22nd November 2019 i collected a car (fiat 500x) and set off . Approx 4 miles down the road the engine management light came on and a message to say the stop/start was not working . This did not affect the car so i was not to bothered about it . Upon my return a week later the car was checked over and the following day my deposit was returned (1400 euro's) along with my refund for a full tank of fuel . Then 2 days later when checking my account i had been re-charged 1400 euro's again ! After a few calls to customer services and 2 emails i was told it was for damages to the car which was not true so i called again to be told its because of the stop/start feature not working ! Which is totally out of my control and just an electrical fault with the car . Here i am over a week later having been charged 1400 euro's for something nothing to do with me . I am still awaiting a reply to my emails and a very unhappy customer ! - ex-customer depending on the outcome ! Having looked into this fault more it could be down to something as simple a the wrong battery or failing battery . car reg 1229 JZJ Fiat 500 x in beige !..............Update , now 14 January 2020 and after 5 phone calls and 3 emails still no correspondence from Goldcar at all and still 1400 euro's out of pocket ! I am now claiming against my credit card company who in turn will chase gold car as they have breached their own terms and conditions as well as the credit card company's . Having looked further into the issue of stop start not working it is usually down to a failing or incorrect battery being fitted and out of a customers control ...., Watch this space !! 10.06.2020 no correspondence from Goldcar at all . Bought myself a car now parked near airport , no more rip off Goldcar !!!! for me . Never had anymore contact from Goldcar , luckily credit card company took on the case and no charges paid . The worst company i have every dealt with !!
