Really easy pick up of the car. No wait and Alvaro was super friendly and helpful! Would recommend
Great signing process with a wonderful person that put us at ease.
Very nice vehicle convenient pick up and drop off the check in lady was efficient but kept trying to scare us into purchasing insurance when we already had it and stated Spain is very strict on not having an international drivers license the police can impound the vehicle if coming from the U.S. you should look into getting the license
I just rented from Granada Europcar, and give it 2 stars. Here's why, please be warned. Before I went on holiday, I was scouring reviews of all the rental car places around GRX, and felt good about Europcar Granada, because of the relatively high reviews they have. Unfortunately for them, my review is not high. I'm just under 25 years old, so already at the beginning I take 1 star away for the rip-off "Youth surcharge" of >200EUR. Nothing happened when I rented for a few weeks, what a pure moneymaking age discrimination. Next, I don't drive manual, so the only option I could have rented (with automatic) was electric vehicles. Only 2 options came up on the website, one car was an expensive EV with 500+ km of range, and the other was an EV with about ~330km of range. The price difference was more than +250EUR for the higher range one, so I took the 330km car, because I had a feeling that they wouldn't give me the high range car even if I had paid for it. I didn't want to get scammed, yet still did. They gave me a car with only 215km of range on 100% battery that was extremely scratched and abused. That sucks, another 2 stars taken off. I couldn't go very far on one charge. I wanted to go to Seville, couldn't, Gibraltar, couldn't, etc. They basically gave me a city car. On the way back from Cordoba, I thought 84% would be enough to make it, but I got stranded in the middle of nowhere, because EVS absolutely eat battery on the highway, especially with lights on. Thank God there was a Wenea charger in the middle of nowhere or else I would have been screwed. But again, you are dependent on the chargers to get around with such a weak battery car, which, also if you are a woman, and you get stranded in the middle of nowhere, it is very sketchy to charge in the dark with nobody around you and being out with a disabled car. Charging in this region of Spain sucks if you are not Spanish. They need to significantly improve charging stations here to expand accessibility, specifically in the form of payment. Many charging stations, you have to have a Spanish credit card, Spanish license, and/or Spanish address to make an account to charge (Iberdrola Endesa X Way , both trash). I have a Dutch card and even that is not enough. Many charging stations say they take American credit cards, but have not been configured to accept American billing addresses! Lots of annoying account making, app downloading, just to charge the car. A lot of other reviews on here talk about Alvaro. I had him too, I thought he was a fake salesman trying to rip you off, because if he wasn't trying to rip me off, he wouldn't give me a terrible car like the one he did. Anyways, I will also mention that you need to take a shuttle to get to their office, it is a red van that departs every 10 minutes, more or less, so that's good. When I gave the car back at the end, I also watched how the people who clean the cars and move them around treat them in the parking lot. They absolutely rip through the car park and on the surrounding streets, so they are the ones really abusing the cars. Overall, be especially warned if you are under 25 years old, because these people will rip you off and have no shame about it. If you can drive manual and are older than 25, you might have a better experience than me.
We had a wonderful experience renting a car from Europcar in Granada. We were greeted by Alvaro, who gave us plenty of options to choose from in terms of car models, optional features, and other comforts. He is an excellent and very friendly person; we felt very well received. The only negative point is that the rental office is not actually inside the airport but 2 minutes away, served by a free shuttle service. For us, this was okay, but it might be better to specify this for people with lots of luggage or reduced mobility.
I never leave bad reviews EVER but this is absolutely warranted. Worst rental drop off experience of my life that almost made me miss my flight. First off the location for Europcar on google maps is totally incorrect. It shows its inside the airport parking but it's actually outside of the airport where there are no signs or indications. Secondly the 24/7 assistance was useless and the only operators available were for roadside assistance. Thirdly i had to drop off at 5am so i knew there wouldn't be anything open, but i did not expect the gate to enter the rental car lot to be closed!! I was extremely lucky to have a taxi driver who pretty much saw me stranded, pulled over to assist me through this mess. He spoke to a gas station attendant who we were super fortunate enough stepped outside for a moment and was able to open the gate for me. Last time I'll be using Europcar.
Terrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Must be the worst, place I've experienced in over 40 years of traveling around the world ... they are rip-off merchants of the worst sort... tried to give us a high mileage car which had so many scratches on that we might miss the additional one they hadn't listed... Then tried to charge us for arriving just before 2:00 so they had to stay on into their so called siesta break which is pathetic anyway... And then had the gall to charge 180 Euros as a cleaning fee just because there was a little bit of sand inside the car. Whatever you do do not use these people .... far better firms are elsewhere in the airport like the one opposite the exit, OK mobility, who don't close at midday. And don't try to rip you off.
Bad customer service. The woman at the counter was unfriendly and dismissive. The customer is not accommodated. Update: The Europcar support was not willing to address my problem, so my rating remains.
