2 out of 3 times that I called this business, somebody answered the phone and hung up without saying anything. Nobody stated the name of the business or asked what I wanted. It's hard to believe that we're at a point where businesses don't know how to answer the phone but here we are.
I had a 26 foot truck rented to go 90 miles and drop off (one way rental). I was supposed to pick up at 8:30am. I called at 8:20am to let them know I would arrive closer to 9am. The employee tells me that my reservation was changed to return to the same location! I was moving 90 miles away, an hour and half away one way!! He said the truck that I was supposed to take to Victorville was not returned the renters extended their reservation! How is this my fault?? He would not let me take the truck unless I returned it to that location ! I am 4'11 and was not able to drive it. I needed to add my son as additional driver and my husband (who was not with me), my son was able to drive the car the 90 miles so that we can go home, but My Son was not able to drive the truck back the next day to drop it off here in Santa Fe Springs so I had to add my husband so he could drive the truck back. On top of that I needed to have someone else drive an hour and a half truck to Santa Fe Springs and then to bring my husband back home which is another hour and a half if there's no traffic! The employee did not care nuisance on us !! at the end, it was either rent the truck or don't and if I rented I bring it back. I had no choice we needed to move. Because I wasn't able to drive the truck back to the Santa Fe Springs location the next day we were only able to load half of our furniture and rent a storage unit that was 40 minutes away unload what we could and return the truck back the same day before 1:30 PM to Santa Fe Springs !! This was ridiculous! This is so unprofessional! Two days later, I have not received my receipt and I called and they said the truck contract was still open. It didn't even show that I returned to the truck back yet.! The truck was dirty and had sticky stuff on the cup holders !
My original drop off location was closed when I showed up. I was advised to come drop the car off to this location. I wasn't in a great mood hearing I might be charged a fee and the employees here dealt with me professionally. They even grabbed some really important mail I had forgotten in the car and placed it in lost and found for me to come retrieve after. Thank you to the both of them with dealing with my frustration
Miriam is extremely passive aggressive. I never had any issues with the men, always treating me very professionally over the years. Beware of her. She's rude and doesn't know what she's doing then makes mistakes and blames you for it. She seems to really hate her job and severely lacks customer service skills. She never greeted me nor ever smiled nor ever said anything courteous throughout my rental experience. However, I had no issues with the cars or its cleanliness.
They have really bad customer service after finishing renting a car from them five days later I decided to contact corporate office one of the guys made a comment because I wouldn't give them my credit card "Oh I get it you not have any money" The district manager didn't bother e giving you a call back. When the car was picked up we spent 15 minutes cleaning the inside of the car received a dirty pic on yelp .. this place is bulls****
Bad service they blocked my car in the parking lot with vans, was supposed to understand that's what they meant when they said "they lock the gates at night" when there's also a literal gated lot. Guy just kind of blew me off when I was being pretty polite about it at first didn't even offer any sort of apology even though it ended up costing me extra money and time. Overall just rude employees probably bad management.
When I called for a prices and quotes I was told a certain amount with a deposit of $100 so I reserved it and I was given an address to go pick up the car from, when I got there it took them 10 minutes to find the reservation and then I was told that it was going to be a $500 deposit. I explained to them that I had already reserved a car for a certain amount and that I was told the deposit was going to be $100. They said they couldn't do that and I was given another address for a corporate Budget office and I could probably get that same price I was told there. When I got to the other location I was told the deposit was going to be $200 and that there was going to be no unlimited miles, so needless to say I was disappointed with the whole process and I was upset that they couldn't stick to what was originally stated from the beginning. They should have a better line of communication and should honor what they say. I felt like they did all that just to get a customer, as big as they are they should have better communication, but I really needed a car for the night so I reluctantly took it. Next time I'm just going to be more thorough and do my homework on more rental places.
The car tow we reserved "became available" a day and a half late so we were late moving into our new place, work, etc. We were over charged $100 because the rate went up overnight and they said they would contact us to fix it. Almost 2 weeks later I called them and was told to call customer service. 4 transfers later it was almost resolved. They wanted to charge me tax on their mistake. 2 transfers later I was reimbursed the full amount they tried to overcharge me. Do not use budget. There are plenty other better options. Don't waste your time or money.
