I have been using Cicar many times, but this time it was absolutely horrible!!! 3 hours of waiting time to get a car that was NOT the car that I booked several months in advance Booked a Ford Focus but was offered a Fiat 500?? So the next day I have to go to the local office to change to Opel Astra. No excuse or explanation from Cicar! Only bad service this time This was Gran Canaria November 2024
Only ever use Cicar and their partners Payless car hire. Hired a fiat 500 but injured my hand before I travelled. Had to change the car to an automatic at very short notice and delivery to our holiday complex. Had a Peugeot 308, brilliant car, very economical copes with mountain roads and excellent value for money. The car arrived clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble. Big thumbs up!
car ok BUT the reservation in the application on the day of the rental suddenly disappeared - luckily the car was waiting for me. the biggest disappoitment was 10 liters of fuel, instead of a full tank, as agreed.
General great experience, fast and easy way to rent a car without much paperwork. Just few remarks: Good + - received car model which I really booked, despite someone said day before it was not available Bad - - very bad condition of tires - some buttons on steering wheel didn't work - usb was partially disassembled I would recommend this place!
It was one of the best car rental experiences for me. I had heard about Cicar before and I made a reservation online a few days before. During the delivery of car, everything went smoothly, and because they didn't have the reserved car , they gave me a higher class car with the same price. At the time of delivery and return of the car, I only handed over the key. No guarantee amount and no other formalities. Thank you Cicar. I had a problem with the themperature of the motor and they gix it in Las Palmas in no time.
We did rented an Opel Corsa, and all was good. The price was reasonable, 65EUR for 2 days and deposit of 40EUR for petrol, which they refunded same day after returning the car. Please note, booking needs to be online, not in the office. Definitely recommend! 5/5
Did online reservation, they requested only driving license. We had the car for 2 days (seat arona automat) and everything was OK. They asked to pay for car rent + advance for fuel ,totally 110 EUR, we received advance payment approx. 35 EUR back within 2 days. The car was in good condition, approx 65k km driven. Only small disadventages were found like pressure in wheels or dirty carpets. Returning of car is really fast. Just returned the key. Generally price/quality is good.
Turned up at this branch to collect a car I'd booked 5 weeks previously. firstly i was informed the car I'd booked wasn't available, but would be given a free upgrade. but still had to wait to be brought from another office (only 20 mins wait though) id booked an Opel Mokka, but was given an Opel grandland x. and I'm not used to such a big car ( I've got an Astra). with the keys given to me the guy walked off. so i inspected the car and was shocked to find almost all the panels had scratches or scuffs. and the petrol cap actually missing. even 1 panel was lightly DAMAGED see pics. I tried to have one of the staff look at the car with me before driving off, but all i got was "you are insured" did not even come out of the office What i was really shocked was the car looked as though it had been cleaned with a dirty rag, covered in dust and water stains. not what im used to when hiring in the UK. On the PLUS side ;-) The car was great to drive and i only put in 30 euros and did approx. 190kms GREAT.:-) Also as I'm OCD i had the car fully cleaned before returning. Another PLUS point - i only paid 146 euros in TOTAL (did not get charged 200 euro deposit ?) and again when i questioned it with the office i got fobbed of again. apparently the deposit was already included ?
