(EDIT: Sixt asks you to contact them, but they do not reply to your email) I feel like we got cheated. We are renting big SUVs twice a year for a 3 weeks long road trips. First time from this location. Booked and paid in advance for the SUV Full-size Elite, which they call "GFAR" type. But got downgraded to "FFAR" type at the counter, which was smaller, and had lower price at the time of booking. There was a GFAR car in the parking lot, but the SIXT officer was insisting that my car will be "better" and that "I will get a refund for downgrading". I have not received any refund for the downgrade. The car was quite disappointing, it was smaller than what I paid for. I don't understand why they are trying to trick the customer since I already prepaid and booked a specific car type, long in advance.

The day was September 1st, I arrived at the Salt Lake City airport after a monotonous four hour layover. As I walked through the airport to get my luggage I made note of the rental signs so I knew where to go to get my car. After grabbing my luggage I made my way to the rental area but to my surprise I didn't see a Sixt kiosk, a cold sweat ran down my brow. In my panic I frantically googled the location of Sixt and saw that they were quite a distance away, so I decided to call them to get more information. Litia had answered the phone and informed me that I would have to get on a Sixt shuttle that ran to and from the airport in ten minute intervals, she was a great help in doing away with my confusion. With this information I sat at the shuttle terminal but immediately had to get up as the Sixt shuttle had arrived earlier than expected, a great surprise. I was quickly zipped to the Sixt office, as I walked towards the entrance I took note of all the high end and well maintained vehicles they had in stock at that moment I knew I made the right choice choosing Sixt. When I entered I was greeted with warm smile and an exuberant "Hello!" I had finally met with Litia and she made the process of getting my BMW 330I as easy as pie. I can't recommend Sixt enough and if you do find yourself in need of a rental give them a call and ask for Litia, she'll take care of everything and ensure an easy and streamlined process.

It was a really good experience renting a car from sixt. Thanks to Anna, who gave me a free upgrade to a higher class car because the car I booked was not in the parking lot. I was a little nervous to use such the car but in the end I just fell in love with it and my holiday was much better with that comfortable car in which I felt safer and less tired even on long distances. The only negative is that I made a mistake with the booking dates (I mixed up the months) and when I noticed it an hour later, they charged me $100 of cancellation fee and they refused my request to get a waiver of booking and refund me money. This is a human factor, and everyone can make a mistake. I think you could reconsider your cancelation policy at least within 24 hours after booking.

Just to be clear I'm not exactly the one renting the car. I am on a business trip when I travel to Salt Lake and my employer is the one that is really it. That being said, I go there expecting a compact, but when I get the car from SIXT they put me in the coolest cars I have ever driven. The customer service is also in a class of their own. If I were you SIXT would be my first choice.

Everything was just perfect. Shuttle was very quick both drop and pickup. Rental car was great, I got an x6 and it was amazing. There was no waiting while picking up car. Celine helped me with rental and she was great in showing me rental car options and choosing the best one for my needs. I'd highly recommend this car rental.

Best rental car experience at SLC! They are off-site which was actually perfect. **When you head out into the rental car garage from the escalator the SIXT shuttle is all the way to your right, (its orange!).** Signage is not great. But after a quick trip to their office I was greeted by Austin who was friendly and helpful and got me into a almost new BMW X5. Car was great. Same upon return, I dropped my car and was easily shuttled back in 7 min to where I was picked up at the airport. Process was smooth. Also because they are not paying airport concession fees I believe the rental is cheaper! Check them out!!

DO NOT rent from these CROOKS! They try to hook you with a low price, but their entire business plan is to try to find OLD and EXISTING damage and stick you with a massive bill days after you return the car. They found an old small scratch and are trying to bill me an extra $800. STAY AWAY!

The app is terrible. The pick up location at Salt Lake. Airport is about as far as you can go and still be on the airport grounds. Calling the local office sends you to a worldwide call center, which is difficult to speak to a real person and they know nothing. A very long wait for a shuttle. I would suggest choosing a car rental that is on the airport premises.

First time booking with Sixt rental and it was a great experience. Princesesi assisted me through the whole rental process with ease. She was very professional and thorough from start to finish. I would definitely rent from Sixt again. Only gripe I have is that the rental compound is outside of the airport. There is a shuttles that goes back and fourth, the driver helps with baggage, which is nice because I had three bags with me. It would be nice to have some signs stating where to go, I didn t think to check where the office was. Besides this, my overall experience was great. Thank you to Prinsesi for her professionalism, thank you to Sixt for providing awesome service

We booked a minivan and they didnt have it saved for us even after we had it done for 2 months ahead of time. Instead they offered us two cars with and up charge of 500$, and a refund fee of 100$ on top if we wanted to back out because they messed up. Do not recommend whatsoever

SCAM! DO NOT USE OVERSEAS. A rental company designed to scam you for damages. If you refuse their own rental car insurance, they will charge you for normal wear and tear. Additionally, their customer service is atrocious and were unable to move charges from one of my credit cards to another. Here is the story: Sixt Portugal is scam! I booked the rental car with my Amex for the rental insurance Amex provides. Get to Lisbon and the Sixt representative cannot get my Amex to work for the deposit hold. In my desire to get the process over with after an hour, I hand a Visa as the representative says, its just for deposit hold. It is ok. Big mistake by me! Upon return a week later, Sixt precedes to examine every inch of the car and assesses $540 in damages to my Visa for a small dent to the front bumper. A week later, they pass through $32 in tolls to my Visa. In order to get the Amex protection, you simply just need the damages and tolls to be on the Amex (the card I made the initial booking with). To resolve, I call Sixt Customer Service and after an hour, they advise they cant charge my Amex because the process is automated and I provided the Visa on the rental agreement I was simply asking them to charge one card instead of my other card. They only reason they have my Visa is because the Lisbon Representative couldnt get the Amex to work and ensured Visa was fine. I am still in a battle with Amex and Sixt to try and get them to cover the charges and damages. DO NOT USE SIXT! Especially do not deny the rental insurance because they will ensure you receive damages and charges.

terrible customer service, with agents being helpful at the airport ~ we never received a confirmation via email and nothing was showing in the app under my account ~ I finally got a hold of customer service via phone ~ she was a doll ~ then we land and went to the pick up rentals because I had already checked in with the customer service I spoke to earlier ~ that never happened ~ I went back into the airport and wasn t greeted with a smile how are you NODDA ~ phone customer service told me they would give me an upgrade for the inconvenience since my reservation was lost ~ but the guys behind the counter did not and would not give me the upgrade without a charge ~ the manager JOEL, came out , no I m sorry Ms how can I make this experience better! NODDA ~ I don t get a smile he was unpleasant and not accommodating ~ I asked for his name as I was checking out ~ he wasn t going to give it to me ~ when I finally got everything that was needed, trust me, no bells and whistles, no smile and no I m sorry Ms not going back here again ~ I thought they were new on the cutting edge and learned that isn t the case!!

Great rental experience. Rented a nice, new, BMW X3 SUV. Fair pricing. Staff was very friendly. Additional insurance was offered, but not forced on me when I declined. Worth the short shuttle ride to get so much more than the other rental companies offer. I will definitely rent here again when I travel to SLC.

We had a great experience with Sixt until the day of drop-off. The good: * The agent in the office (Princessa ?) was great to work with. She explained everything and even gave us a free upgrade. * The car was in perfect condition and we didnt have any problems with it. * I think the rental was reasonably priced when compared to other rental agencies. The bad: * We were doing an early morning drop-off and we were assured multiple times the shuttles start running at 4:30 AM. We arrived at the rental agency to drop off the car at 4:45 AM. The shuttles were parked in front of the building with no drivers. We waited until 5:30 AM and we were forced to get an Uber to get to the airport. Sadly, we were not the only people inconvenienced.

If you had asked my review upon returning the car, I would have said 5 stars, today, 2 stars. We rented a Chrysler minivan. Pickup was smooth, very easy and professional. I have nothing bad to say about anyone who worked at this SIXT location. Everyone was very helpful and nice. I had read reviews of people who had rented and were later charged for damages so I took a lot of photos of the car and a video before we even pulled off the lot. The car was great, ran well, was clean and smelled good. There were some scratches and surface defects on the car when we picked up, but I documented those in the app and on my phone. We came to turn the car in. The return process was easy and quick. The person who helped me when we turned in the car said we had no additional charges as we had documented the damage existing using the QR code and she had the images. That day, we get an email confirming this. But I noticed at the bottom of the page that if the car is dirty they will reinspect the car. We went through a touchless car wash right before returning the car so it was not dirty other than dead bugs on the grill. Last night, I got an email in the middle of the night saying additional damage found . I went to fill out the web form included, but there was no option to indicate that the damage was existing. All of the damage was two existing scratches that I had photos of (thank goodness) and the grill of the car that had dead bugs stuck to it. I called customer service, and they informed me the original email was not a final invoice and directed me to send an email in with the photos I had of the damages and let me know that I d hear back in 72 hours. I guess the inspection done by a human on the physical car did not mean anything? What is the point of it then? Is someone (or a computer, heck who knows) going back to review these and it just doesn t do a good job? It seems the initial check in/out process is worthless if they don t take the time to compare images. So, I submitted the photos I had and now we wait. Hopefully an actual human with decent eyesight looks at them. My review may change as we get into this process. I do know that if you asked me right now if I would rent a car again from SIXT it would be a hard no. I ve never had a rental car company do something like this and I have never had issues with a rental car before! It seems a bit shady to me. We were super careful with the car, so I m fairy frustrated at this point. I ll update this post as this plays out.

I booked online through Experian, then went to pick up the car. Theyre offsite, so you need to go past all the other rentals to a shuttle that takes you to the Sixth shop. Irritating, but no big deal. At the counter they asked for license and credit card, I produced a debit card and was told I could only use debit if I had a utility bill handy to verify my address. Annoying, but still workable with email. Then came our misunderstanding. While the rental was 23 per day, the coverage plan was 33 per day minimum, and 79 for the full package. When asked to choose a coverage option from the screen I didnt realize they were optional. Also, I asked if those prices were including the rental itself and he told me it was. So I thought 33 was just 10 on top of the rental fee. Another misunderstanding. After booking online for 2 weeks for about 350, picking it up ran me an additional 800 dollars, with the minimum coverage and 200 deposit. When I called to ask why both bills were showing on my account, I got the bad news that the coverage was separate, and because I had prepaid I couldnt cancel or return the car early. Luckily, management was very quick to respond to my previous review and were happy to correct the previous misunderstandings and make it right. TL;DR cheapest price in the valley, great service, fantastic management, just with a couple misunderstandings upfront.

This got me heated so had to make my first review just for this. Booked a car couple weeks back for a roadtrip and had a email that was left on processing. Day before the trip haven t heard back and gave them a call. Turns out they canceled it. This is them without sending an email or any kind of notice. Just wanted to reiterate I had to call THEM to get the information and it was the day before the trip. On the phone they couldn t help with getting another car and basically had me out to scramble for a new car while they send the email after I hung up. Super unprofessional and would not recommend doing any business with them. Photo for time reference.
