Amazing bad experience: - upon arrival they influence you to go for a SUV, saying road are incredibly bad in Fuerteventura, while it is the contrary , this double the original rental price - then after 5 days the car has an engine breakdown ... 4 hour in the desert to get the insurance takes care of the car, then I have to walk few km to the next city with luggage and my son ... - worst is coming when I got back in France. First i received complaints I did not return the car, then 7 days later I received a message saying I made a damage to the car without any info on this damage nor a way to talk to somebody .... 3 weeks later I received the invoice, still without single explanations, no photo of the damage and no other choice than to pay. - I noticed on the invoice they had to recover the fuel, certainly meaning this is due to bad fuel, but I never refilled the tank, and they know it because the fuel tank is almost empty, but it is my fault ......... AVOID SIXT, THEY ARE STRONG TO COMMUNICATE FOR RENTING, THEN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. THEY DO NOT ANSWER TO MY CLAIMS, THEY CHARGE YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT, THEIR CAR ARE BADLY SERVICED AND LET YOU ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO CRY. Do not rent from Sixt Fuerteventura Airport If I could give zero stars I would. This smelled like a scam from the day we rented to the day we returned the car. The car itself was good however suddenly after returning it, there's a magical 2 "new" scratches that we had nothing to do with. The cost online is NOT THE SAME as in person, the cost ended up being VERY HIGH like hundreds more than what the online booking said. The counter people were pushy and just said sign here and here and billed us upgrades we did not ask for. We weren't even allowed the option to return the car without refueling which is crazy because it is an option for all other Sixt places we have been to. Sixt has been a fine company to rent from UNTIL HERE where everything went wrong. Do not trust this place or its people

Am liebsten gar kein Stern, Wochen im Voraus alles gebucht und bezahlt. Bei der Ankunft wurden nochmal mehrere hundert euro verlangt fur dinge, sie schon bezahlt wurden, ohne das vorher bescheid gesagt wurde. Ausserdem wurde nicht mal das Auto zur verfugung gestellt, welches wir bestellt haben und das Personal war sehr unfreundlich. Unverschamtheit.

I booked a rental car with Sixt for a vacation in Fuerteventura. I chose Sixt on purpose. Sixt is more expensive, but you read a lot about the dubious dealings of the very cheap rental car dealers abroad. So I thought to myself, I have good experience with Sixt in Germany, then it will certainly be good in Spain too. I booked the car a few months in advance. You can find the Sixt station very quickly at the airport, the staff is absolutely polite and very friendly. However, you will immediately be advised to take out additional insurance for everything possible. Glass and tire insurance, fully comprehensive insurance to increase your own contribution, fuel service after your return (totally pointless, there is a gas station right in front of the airport in case of an emergency) and and and. You can easily double the original rental price here. If you point out that you have already taken out insurance in Germany, that you may also have additional insurance via the credit card and that the Mallorca Pollice for your own insurance from Germany is still available, the friendly employee will eventually stop making offers. Of course he will point out again the gigantic risk on the extremely bad roads in Fuerteventura and that he would not take the risk. So you have to be very steadfast. Once you have your documents you can go to your car in the parking lot. This all works excellently. All rental cars have blemishes, dents, paint scratches, etc. Since all vehicles are always washed, you can see everything very well. We then drove the vehicle to the hotel and toured a bit around the island. We never left paved roads or anything like that. After returning to the airport, a very friendly woman took our key and wished us a safe journey. She takes care of everything else - and she really does, but not to your advantage! She takes photos and is guaranteed to find flaws and scratches that supposedly werent there before. I was able to prove this with my tons of photos before the rental and also after the rental (I also took them). You will then receive an email within about 45 minutes with the alleged new flaws and damage. This seems to be the trick there. When I confronted the friendly lady about this, she told me the car was already gone and we couldnt look at it again. The bottom line is that I had a lot of trouble at the end of the trip and was only saved from further costs because of my previous photos. It took me almost another hour at home until everything was designed and prepared so that Sixt then refrained from making any further demands. Absolutely dubious. Soon I will be able to book with a low-cost provider and then simply buy all the insurance. Its probably cheaper than Sixt.

Ich habe fur einen Urlaub auf Fuerteventura einen Mietwagen bei Sixt gebucht. Mit Absicht habe ich Sixt ausgewahlt. Sixt ist zwar teurer aber man liest sehr viel uber die dubiosen Machenschaften der sehr gunstigen Mietwagenhandler im Ausland. Ich dachte mir daher, mit Sixt habe ich in Deutschland gute Erfahrung, dann ist das in Spanien sicherich auch gut. Den Wagen habe ich einige Monate im Voraus gebucht. Am Flughafen findet man die Sixtstation sehr schnell, der Mitarbeiter ist absolut hoflich und sehr freundlich. Gleich direkt wird man aber darauf hingewiesen doch noch weitere Versicherungen fur alles Mogliche abzuschliessen. Glas- und Reifenversicherung, Vollkaskoversicherung um den Eigenanteil zu erhohen, Tankservice nach der Ruckkehr (total sinnlos, direkt vorm Flughafen ist eine Tanstelle im Notfall) und und und. Man kann hier locker den ursprunglichen Mietpreis verdoppeln. Wenn man darauf hinweist, dass man doch eine Versicherung bereits in Deutschland abgeschlossen hat, moglicherweise auch uber die Krediktkarte eine weitere Versicherung hat und dass die Mallorca Pollice der eigenen Versicherung aus Deutschland ja auch noch vorhanden ist hort der freundliche Mitarbeiter irgendwann auf mit seinen Angeboten. Naturlich wird er nochmal auf das gigantische Risiko auf den extrem schlechten Strassen in Fuerteventura hinweisen und das er das Risiko nicht eingehen wurde. Man muss also sehr standhaft sein. Hat man dann seine Unterlagen darf man auf den Parkplatz zu seinem Auto gehen. Das funktioniert alles hervorragend. Jetzt kommt es aber: Man bekommt einen QR COde, mit dem man einen Zugang zu einem Webportal bekommt, auf den man das Fahrzeug nochmal begutachten soll und ggf. Fotos von Schaden machen sollte, die noch zusatzlich vorhanden sind. Es wird also quasi das Risiko der Bewertung auf den Kunden ubertragen. Macht alle moglichst viele Fotos von eurem Mietwagen bevor ihr losfahrt. Alle Mietwagen haben irgendwo macken, beulen, Lackkratzer usw. Da alle Fahrzeuge immer gewaschen werden, sieht man auch alles sehr gut. Wir sind dann mit dem Fahrzeug zum Hotel gefahren und etwas uber die Insel. Nie haben wir befestigte Strassen verlassen oder ahnliches. Nach der Ruckkehr am Flughafen hat eine sehr freundliche Frau unseren Schlussel entgegen genommen und uns eine gute Reise gewunscht. Sie kummert sich um alles Weitere - und das macht sie auch wirklich, aber nicht zu eurem Vorteil! Sie fertigt Fotos an und findet garantiert Macken und Kratzer, die angeblich vorher noch nicht da gewesen sind. Ich konnte das Belegen mit meinen unmengen an Fotos vor anmietung und auch nach Anmietung (habe ich auch noch gemacht). Man bekommt dann innerhalb von ca. 45 Minuten eine E-Mail mit den angeblichen neuen Macken und Schaden. Dies scheint dort so die Masche zu sein. Als ich die freundliche Dame diesbezuglich zur Rede gestellt habe, sagte sie mir das Auto sei bereits weg und wir konnten uns das nicht nochmal ansehen. Fazit ist, dass ich am Ende der Reise viel Arger hatte und nur durch meine vorherigen Fotos von weiteren Kosten verschont geblieben bin. Mich hat das dann zu Hause nochmal fast eine Stunde Zeit gekostet, bis alles so gestaltet und aufbereitet war, das Sixt anschliessend von weiteren Forderungen Abstand genommen hat. Absolut dubios. Demnachst kann ich auch bei einem Billiganbieter buchen und dann einfach alle Versicherungen kaufen. Ist vermutlich gunstiger als bei Sixt.
