We had always good experience with that company on every canary island we have visited (all of them) Unfortunately Fuerteventura branch seems to be completely different (or whole company went down recently) We arrived on time at the meeting point and there was nobody there. No one answered the phone given in the email or reply to our messages. Lady arrived around 15 minutes later and told us that she needs to bring our car and it will take 5 minutes. She came back after around 20 minutes and only started paper work. So altogether it took around 1hour and 15 minutes to collect the car. But we got kinda new golf so not bad we thought. Unfortunately 10 minutes later we noticed that Aircon isn't working. So rang them, but guess what - no answer. I emailed them straight away and got reply from head office that they forwarded my email to Fuerteventura branch, which of course didn't email me back. After half day calling they eventually picke up and told me its impossible that Aircon is broken, but I can come to their centre to check (100km from the hotel) We went there following morning and after checking they offer us free "upgrade" to duster. We accepted. Duster came with 3/4 tank and they marked it's full. I said to change it so as a" goodwill gesture" they allowed me to give back with 3/4 I told them they my golf was empty and I gave it back full as tanked straight after collection but they said they won't let me give empty as I've got a free upgrade, which I didn't asked for, cost me 50EUR spent on petrol, 200km travelling with no aircon and 3 hours of my holidays. I will give them another chance on the other islands but definitely not on Fuerteventura
First car was in terrible condition. We had two replacement cars and that was a nice service. However nobody was waiting for us at the airport to pick them up and few days later they charged us 60 eur more. They do not answer the phone and dont respond to my emails.
Nightmare service! They rent old used cars. Ours had a dead main battery and dead battery in key/fob. We were left at the beach for two hours, managed to change the key/fob battery ourselves meantime. Thank comes the interesting part. They send service to jump start the car and left us with dead main battery again.. When I called and said its not what we were expecting to get after two hours of waiting time - lady started literally SHOUTING at me.. Earlier we had a problem with the tire in this car, they at least checked it and someone else was polite at that time. But this time it is still hard to believe for me what happened. Please send your people to some customer service trainings and/or at least teach them some good basic manners..
Stay away from these clowns. We reserved a car 3 weeks before arrival, and upon arrival, the Plus Car lady waiting for customers in the parking lot said that we were not in the list of customers on her clipboard. I said OK, can you get me a car, and how long will it be? She took my info and reservation number, called her boss, and said yes, 20 minutes. So we waited, after 30 minutes, I asked again about the status. She said, "my boss says they're cleaning the car". Waited another 30 minutes, asked again: she says, "my boss says they havent even gotten the car, they are looking for it in the parking lot". I kindly asked her to give me a definitive time, she says "it's not my fault it's my boss". We waited another 30 minutes, then I asked her to call her boss to ask for either an upgrade or discount, as we had been waiting for 1.5 hours getting inconsistent answers from them. She pulls out her phone and talks to her boss and hangs up, I ask her what the conclusion was, she says "so you really want to know what my boss said", to which I respond "yes", and she says "she told me that you can leave and go to rent-a-car to see if you finds anything better." These poor Car Plus employees take no ownership of the problems, they just blame the "boss", who unfortunately is as incompetent as the people that manage their bookings. What a dreadful image this gives off for a business. So we went to Payless Car, where we were able to get a vehicle for cheaper and in 20 minutes keys in hand. Stay away from these Plus Car clowns :)
AVOID Really bad experience. They messed up our reservation and kept us waiting and waiting for over an hour with no solution - on a parking lot. It was their fault, but instead of upgrading us or finding a car ASAP we were told they still had to clean our car ... Not fun after a long trip with small children. We gave up in the end. I can highly recommend Payless or Cicar.
Good quality and modest, all-included pricing, with no hidden costs or extra insurance and deposit payments. Cars might be a little scratchy but technically in top shape. Best prices from little cars to minivans and suv's. Good variety of cars for different needs; compact to large cars, minibuses for 7 to 9 persons, cabriolets, jeeps and suv's. Only main limitation is, do not drive on gravel road. The insurance covers only accidents and punctured tires etc. happened on paved roads.
Rented a small car from them in Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote) in march 2017 for about 4 days. I was very pleased by the relaxed atmosphere and the very good conditions. No risk small car at a good price and "just put it back with the same amount of fuel in it". I came without a reservation and still the guy helped me without any surcharges or whatever.
I made a reservation with them in October 2015 renting a car for 15 days during the month of November 2015. I received immediately an email with the description of the car, days of rental and all the information no payment was required for the booking. One day before going on holidays to Fuerteventura I decided to confirm the reservation since there was no reservation number on the email I received and to my surprise I was told that they had no reservation in my name and no car available for the period. I was informed that they had sent me a second email, a few days after my booking, stating this and promised to send it again so I could verify the date and content of the communication. Truth is that I never received any email and when I contacted them a second time complaining they told me I was not a customer and so I could not complain about anything. Result was booking a car the previous night from going to holidays and paying more than double of what I should pay. In Fuerteventura I was searching for the Auto Plus office in the airport and they are not represented. Suppose they should have something in the surroundings but I didn't bothered searching for it. Unprofessional and unreliable in the minimum.
