I have used Orlando in Los Cristianos about 4 times afer a disappointing experience with a smaller company... cars are good condition & clean .. Also want to say that I have found the staff very accomadatiing & friendly especially Maria
The car was a little bit dirty inside, but whole rental process was very smooth.
Booked a VW UP and was upgraded to Peugeot 208. The negative thing was that they charged and returned instead of just reserved the damage deposit. The credit card bill was printed inbetween so I had to pay 600 euro extra on first credit card bill deducted from next month bill.
I had been very worried by the poor reviews I saw here. However, my own experience was very satisfactory. The car was in good condition, the reception by the staff friendly and efficient, and the location ideal for my hotel (Eden, Puerto de la Cruz).
Car was in bad condition and the company didnt want to change it!
The breaks of the car did'nt work allright and my son almost had a bad accident when he was driving downhill. The man at Orlando was very impolite and refused to give any money back, when we brought him back the bad car.
This company works with deceitful methods and the customer service is catastrophic!!! In my confirmation stood unequivocal that a fully comprehensive insurance exists without a deductible. Nevertheless, after my arrival on Orlando the employee there stated that, nevertheless, a deductible of 600 euros exists and that I must deposit a security of 300 euros. When I wanted to show him the confirmation, he said that hediddn`t care about what was written in my paper and that he only cares about, what his computer tells him. He said, that if I do not like the conditions, I should simply rent somewhere else (even tho, I had already paid the full rental price) and of course, I would NOT get a refund. I told him, that this looks very much like fraud to me, to make false statements about the insurance and I consider such methods outrageous. As a result he became very aggressive and refused to hand me the vehicle. I had already paid the full price in advance and insisted, that he would give me the vehicle. But even when I offered to pay the additional insurance, he refused to even try to find a solucion. At last he even called the police and stated, I would have threatened and offended him, which had not been the case at all. When the police arrived, they quickly understood, that I was not the one to blaim here but couldn`t help me either. Around 18:30, half an hour after the appointment for the pick up, he stated, he could not give me the car anyway any more, because I was not there on time for the pick up. Although I had already been in the store for over half an hour, discussing with him. After I finally left the store without car, he shouted after me, laughing: "be carefull, not to get run over by a car on your way!!!" I cannot say with certainty, why he acted this way, but such a disrespectful treatment should not be tolarated in any company!!!
