Worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company. The car broke down after less than 30 kilometres with a damaged clutch. The very unfriendly staff there insinuated from the start that we couldn't drive and wanted 1000 euros from us. Although nobody there had even seen the car. Then they offered us a new car. After we had driven it for a short time, we had the same bad feeling and wanted to return the car. Now an eternal discussion began, the employee there did not want to accept our addition on the papers and tried again and again in vain to reach her boss. After eternal discussions, without really being able to present any valid arguments, she simply left us standing there and went into the back room. We have now passed this incident on to others. I would not recommend renting a car here.

Perfect local car rental company. Simple and fast process of renting, simple and transparent pricing. You don't want to have the full insurance? No problem, they just block the deposit on your card, and you're then responsible for the damages. They even did not have a problem with regular debit card for deposit, when I did not have a credit card! That's not the case with those international car rental chains I've also tried. If I'm ever in Algarve in need of a car, I'm going to book with Auto Rent.

Getting the car and driving the car were both great experiences. The car looked almost brand new and was a breeze to drive. However, upon returning the car I asked if they could possibly drive me to the bus station nearby as I had a big suitcase in the back and the incredibly cranky agent who unfortunately took my checkout flat out rejected that thought rather harshly. En route to checking out the car he stated they have work to do and they don't have a drop off service so that was that. I understand if you can't, but honestly for Portuguese hospitality that was literally the worst attitude I've ever received in the many times I've been in this country. I hope he gets to take a good break this weekend because clearly this guy needs it.

Great service! Definitely a recommendation. After experiencing horrible service at RecordGo Lissabon (never hire a car here!!), we were a bit reluctant for a new car rental. We rented a VW T-Roc with fully comprehensive insurance for 8 whole days. The price was 510. The vehicle had around 77,000 km on it, but was in technically perfect condition. The car was handed over clean. Of course it already had various signs of wear. The handover by the companys friendly employee went smoothly. This took place in the hotel. We deposited 100 on the credit card for the toll. After the return, this billing took place the next day. We collected 15.76 in tolls. The return was also easy, we simply left the key at reception and parked the car in front of the hotel. Im still deducting one star because other providers would have been cheaper. Nevertheless, I still recommend the company.

Wir haben fur 8 ganze Tage einen VW T-Roc mit Vollkasko gemietet. Der Preis betrug 510;- . Das Fahrzeug hatte circa 77.000 km runter, war aber im technisch einwandfreien Zustand. Das Auto wurde sauber ubergeben. Naturlich hatte es bereits diverse Gebrauchsspuren. Die Ubergabe durch den freundlichen Mitarbeiter der Firma lief problemlos. Diese fand im Hotel statt. Wir haben fur die Maut 100 bei der Kreditkarte hinterlegt. Nach Ruckgabe erfolgte bereits diese Abrechnung am Tag darauf. Wir haben 15,76 an Maut verfahren. Die Ruckgabe erfolgte ebenfalls problemlos, wir haben einfach den Schlussel an der Rezeption abgegeben und das Auto vor dem Hotel geparkt. Einen Stern ziehe ich dennoch ab, da andere Anbieter gunstiger gewesen waren. Dennoch empfehle ich die Firma naturlich weiter.

We have never rented a car here at the branch of Auto Rent, as we have always booked and taken over a vehicle from this rental company, which is close to the airport, when we have been to the Algarve. We assume that things are just as serious here as AutoRent is there. For this reason we also give this branch 4 points. However, it should be noted that if you rent a car directly here, it is significantly more expensive than in the headquarters at Faro Airport. In our opinion, this is simply incomprehensible. This rental is also not offered via CHECK24.

Hands off. After 30 minutes the car was on the side of the road with a defective clutch. We stood in the blazing sun for 2 hours and in the end we had to pay 1000 for a defective car. The staff were super unfriendly and were even unfriendly with Check24 (which we booked through). Unfortunately a very unfriendly rental company.

Unfriendly and ununderstanding service. If you have a problem, the customer is assumed to be unable to drive a car. The clutch broke after 30km and we had to wait 2 hours in the blazing sun for a taxi. The next clutch problem was already on the horizon with the second rental car. When you didnt want to take a car for the next 3 days because you didnt trust the cars on offer locally, there was no way you could get at least 2 days of costs reimbursed. We were served for the lost day. Attached is another photo of our feathered companion in the engine compartment.

I rented a car at the end of July 2023 for 3 days. I made the reservation faster via the Auto Rent website. The website is very friendly and intuitive, there were no problems with the reservation. When picking up the car in Portimao, everything was already prepared, the service from the employees was very efficient and nice, as well as when handing over the car. I picked up the car according to my reservation. Handing over the car also went very smoothly and without any problems. The only drawback is the issue of returning the car with the same amount of gasoline as it was received. The rule does not apply to a full tank, which causes a bit of trouble when returning the car. In one word, I recommend it.

Very cheap and good to very good car rental. One star deducted because the transfer process from the airport to the rental station still needs improvement. It is difficult to find the right meeting point for the transfer at the airport and there were no company employees at the airport (at least for us). Only after a call was it confirmed that a shuttle bus was on the way to the airport. Problem: if it takes longer, you have to wait in the parking lot in the blazing sun! Dont forget your sun hat - time will pass quickly! Otherwise very problem-free and a relaxed team in Faro. Car was well maintained and clean. What was great was that we were able to return the car we picked up in Faro to Portimao the next day. The employee who took over the car was very friendly and customer-oriented. Only here, too, the instructions on how to get to the station could have been better: the station is on the shopping street, which is protected by bollards during the day. However, these would have been automatically lowered when we arrived with a rental car, as we unfortunately only found out later. But it wasnt that bad - we were able to park the car in reserved car rental parking spaces nearby and the employee then picked it up there. Overall, in our opinion, recommended and a good to very good price-performance ratio. Premium rate recommended - a very affordable, worry-free package.

Erst nach Anruf wurde bestatigt, dass ein Shuttlebus unterwegs zum Flughafen ist. Problem: sollte das langer dauern, muss man in der prallen Sonne am Parkplatz warten! Sonnenhut nicht vergessen - es vergeht wohl schnell mal etwas Zeit! Ansonsten sehr problemlos und ein entspanntes Team in Faro. Wagen war gepflegt und sauber. Super war, dass wir das in Faro ubernommene Auto am nachsten Tag in Portimao retournieren konnten. Die Mitarbeiterin, die das Auto ubernahm, war sehr freundlich und kundenorientiert. Einzig, auch hier hatten die Hinweise zur Anfahrt zur Station besser sein konnen: die Station liegt an der tagsuber mit Pollern geschutzten Einkaufsstrasse. Allerdings hatten sich diese bei Anfahrt mit dem Mietwagen automatisch abgesenkt, wie wir aber leider erst spater erfuhren. Aber nicht weiter schlimm - wir konnten das Auto auf reservierten Auto-Rent-Parkplatzen ganz in der Nahe abstellen und die Mitarbeiterin nahm es dann auch gleich dort vor Ort ab. Insgesamt aus unserer Sicht empfehlenswert und ein gutes bis sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhaltnis. Premium-Rate empfehlenswert - ein sehr gunstiges Sorglos-Paket.
