I would not recommend using Hertz at Palma Airport. Despite booking through Hertz, the service is actually managed by Firefly Car Rental, which operates under Hertz. I typically avoid lesser-known, budget car rental companies, as their business model often involves attracting customers with low prices and then pressuring them into upgrades or additional insurance. If you decline these extras, they may later claim damage and charge you. Unaware of Firefly's involvement, I booked through Hertz. As other reviews had warned, I refused the expensive insurance upon arrival. The staff assured me that the car was damage-free and advised me to take photos if I noticed any issues, with timestamped images serving as sufficient proof. While the car itself was fine, one wheel had pre-existing scratches, which we documented with photos as instructed. When we returned the car, we were told to drop the key in a box. True to the concerns expressed in other reviews, a damage report arrived two to three days later, charging nearly PS300 for the wheel scratches, which was debited from my card. Despite sending multiple emails asking where I could submit the timestamped photos to prove that we did not cause the damage, I received no response. Unless you are willing to pay for an upgraded car or the expensive excess insurance, I strongly advise against renting from this location. The low initial price is just a tactic to draw you in, but you may end up paying significantly more either through costly add-ons or unsubstantiated damage claims after your rental, with little to no communication for dispute resolution.

DON'T RENT FROM HERE!!!! SCAMMERS!!! If there was the opportunity for 0 star would've picked it. The worst company ever amongst car rental companies. They just try to steal and scam your money. Unprofessional to the level that they send you a "traffic violation" ticket(55EUR) with 2 days notice and then force you to pay it or else they WILL double the price? Except that where is the proof of the incident? How you i know that they aren't lying and scamming? But i did pay that amount...after few weeks they send me another charge with amount of 40EUR and it's also "traffic violation"? completely untrustworthy service and unprofessional with every possible way. Can't even call them and also emails they haven't been answering. For your own sake don't waste your money and rent a car from here!! You gonna be in trouble and headache!! Genuinely saying.

It was a very quick experience for us. We've read reviews saying it takes ages but we lined up, he gave us our keys, informed us of everything we need to know and signed papers. We got our car within like 10-15 minutes. I do think finding the car park for Hertz was a pain though....but probably because we are foreigners but it took us so long to find it when we had to return it but overall, it was great experience, I'd recommend it. We got a very new car aswell!

If only negative stars were an option! I was handed a damage form to sign *before* seeing the car. Wait...what? When I finally got to the car, I had to hunt down an employee because it had a dozen dings and scratches that weren't on the form. Enter Rosalie (I think?), who seemed ready to do battle the moment I asked about the mismatch. I'm not sure if it was her rude attitude or just how things roll now in Mallorca, but the vibes were definitely suss. So, maybe give this Hertz agency a miss unless you enjoy ugliness.

Complete scam, awful counter service, lying and committing fraud! We were 'greeted' by a lady at the counter who wanted us to upgrade our car to a more expensive one - obviously not going to happen (why would someone spend time choosing a specific car online, to have someone at the counter insist we get a more expensive one). She would not take no for an answer for ages and we felt she pushed too much. She then tried to scam us into paying for 'super' insurance, saying that we had booked this online previously, and continued down this route even though I clearly stated that I didn't book the super insurance because I didn't want that. We managed to convince her that we weren't going to pay EUR200 on top of an EUR80 rental cost for 4 days. She was very annoyed at this and treated us with a rude and cold manner once we weren't going to pay for this super insurance. She made us feel stupid and insisted that we would have to pay lots and lots of money 'when' the car was damaged. It affected the beginning of our holiday and made us feel quite sad and angry and how we were treated. The car was fine and in a good condition. We went around the car and pointed out the damage that wasn't on the report to a hertz employee who said, "yes no worries thats all accounted for, don't worry". We did our holiday, no damage to the car, and checked it out at the end of our holiday. We couldn't be there for the inspection as we had a flight to catch. A few days later I am charged on my card for EUR148 with no explanation, no communication other than an email simply saying that they had attached a receipt, and the receipt was a very confusing pdf which didn't explain anything at all. I email the customer service explaining that I had a random charge and please could they fix the obvious error. I was emailed back saying that there were damages to the car and they provided a photograph attached to the email. The photograph was not of the car we had rented. They said we had caused a scratch to the front left rim, I checked our photos and could see the logos on the tyres and the air valve didn't match any wheels we had on our car, and also you could see no damage at all at check out on the photo I took. The first photo is the photo evidence they supplied, the 2nd photo with red circles is our wheel, and the 3rd is ours with clearly no scratch at all. They are very clearly committing fraud, and I will be pursuing this fully to get the refund. This is a joke of an outfit and should be shut down! Please don't use Hertz anymore, and please report Hertz Spain and Hertz Palma Airport. I have just looked at the reviews and feel stupid for not checking, would have never used hertz had I known.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE UNTIL YOU READ THIS REVIEW! The prices look the same as the other car rental places. I booked online and was fairly sure I had clicked on comprehensive insurance coverage. When I got there, they told us insurance was around 130 EUR per day on top of the price. We always take the insurance as we don't want any issues on holidays. When we took the keys and went to the car we thought it through and felt the price didn't make sense. It was 2000 EUR for 10 days of rental. We went back to cancel the booking. They wanted to charge for 1 day but after some arguing they agreed but bit without some attitude when I asked for them for a confirmation of the cancellation. Avis right next door was 1000 EUR for the 10 days, full insurance coverage, no online booking or special rates. The car was older but very serviceable. This place is straight up a scam. The insurance pricing is extortionate. And if you read the other reviews, you'll see people get charged extra for scratches etc if they didn't take up the insurance.

We arrived at the airport at 2 AM. There was a huge qeue to pick up the car. We spent more than 2 hours to have our car. We booked and paid a Mini Cooper, but there was no Mini available, so they gave a Ford Focus. The lady on the front desk was complaining about her problems "I'm working 3 hours more every day" and she screamed with the clients without any reason, taking her bottle of water to the floor!!! It was unbelievable Everyone on the qeue was stanished about this behaviour.

I had a bad experience and felt that the staff lied to us at the Hertz shop at Majorca Airport. During my rental period, someone tried to steal our car overnight. When I went to the shop to report it, the staff showed no compassion (not that we needed any), but instead, we were only asked to pay the full excess fee of the vehicle (1200 EUR) for the damages caused by the criminals. I asked to keep the vehicle (which was fully operational and I didn't care about the damages) and pay for the excess fees once I returned it in 3 days, otherwise I wouldn't be able to transfer that amount from overseas on time, and I would need to get a taxi to return to our hotel (which is 2 hours away from the airport). The manager of the shop was then called, and again, without any understanding or attempt to show compassion for what had occurred, he said that there was no other way and we must pay on the spot if we wanted a car again. Furthermore, he said that the reason why we couldn't take the car back was that they couldn't rent a damaged car and that they needed to call the police to make a report of the incident. This would have been understandable if they had actually asked me about when, where, and at what time the theft was attempted, but nobody did! To complete the bad experience, after sending my money from Australia, I was able to get a car. But it turned out that the new car we got was even more damaged than the car we returned to the shop! It had 360-degree scratches and dents all over! Although I have hired vehicles from Hertz many times, I do not recommend this specific shop. There is much room for improvement! I've attached pictures of the damaged car from the criminals (the gray car) and the replacement car provided (silver car).

Absolute scam - The employee tried to sell us every possible insurance policy - After we declined this, we were presented with a contract that was approximately equal to the cost of the rental. - It later turned out that the rental car had already been paid for via Check24 and that this was the unwanted insurance package - When the vehicle was returned, damage was discovered that we allegedly caused. Im already looking forward to the settlement process with the fully comprehensive insurance via Check24 Thanks for nothing!

Since I didnt have any such problems here in January, I assumed it was the FA. HERTZ is reputable and therefore stands out from the other landlords on the island.... Unfortunately I thought wrong. Picking up the car at Palma airport was quick and easy. The car was in good condition and more than adequately equipped. When we returned the car, we had the worker fill up the car at the Cepsa gas station 6km from the airport. However, when we returned it to Hertz, it turned out that there were still two lines left until the tank was full. In order to avoid paying the fine, my wife waited in the parking garage with three annoyed small children while I filled up the tank myself after consulting the service employee at the airport gas station (Repsol). Since the safety stop was constantly triggered directly by the tank, I had to re-activate the fuel trigger every second. After countless triggering processes and 10 liters of petrol filling, I declared the tank to be full, even as foam was already appearing. It was probably the same problem as the first gas station. Again, I reported the problem when I returned it to Hertz because the tank still showed a missing line. The Hertz employee on site initially made it sound as if this wouldnt be a problem to our detriment. I was also advised not to sign the protocol. Nevertheless, we were charged the fuel penalty fee of 34.99 euros or deducted from the deposit. All attempts to solve the problem with the Balearic Hertz customer service by email resulted in the standard answers that in the end the error was on my side and that no waiver of the additional payment and penalty fee was possible. Die Abholung des Autos am Flughafen Palma war problemlos und schnell. Das Auto war in gutem Zustand und mehr als genugend ausgestattet. Bei der Ruckgabe liessen wir das Auto 6km vor dem Flughafen an der Cepsa Tankstelle vom Mirarbeiter volltanken. Bei der Ruckgabe bei Hertz stellte sich jedoch heraus, dass noch zwei Striche bis zur vollen Tankfullung fehlten. Um die Strafzahlung zu umgehen, wartete meine Frau mit drei genervten Kleinkindern in der Parkgarage wahrend ich nach Rucksprache mit dem Servicemitarbeiter an der Flughafentankstelle (Repsol) nochmal selber volltanken fuhr. Da der Sicherheitsstop vom Tank standig direkt ausloste, musste ich den Benzintrigger jede Sekunde neu betatigen. Nach unzahligen Auslosevorgangen und 10l Benzin-Fullung erklarte ich den Tank fur voll, auch da schon Schaum entgegen kam. Wahrscheinlich handelte es sich um dasselbe Problem wie bei der ersten Tankstelle. Erneut gab ich das Problem bei der Hertz Ruckgabe an, da der Tank immer noch einen fehlenden Strich anzeigte. Seitens des Hertz-Mitarbeiters vor Ort klang es zunachst so, als ware das selbstverstandlich kein Problem zu unseren Lasten. Mir wurde auch empfohlen das Protokoll nicht zu unterschreiben. Dennoch wurde uns die Tank-Strafgebuhr in Hohe von 34,99 Euro in Rechnung gestellt bzw von der Kaution abgezogen. Samtliche Versuche das Problem mit dem balearischen Hertz Kundenservice per E-Mail fuhrten zu den Standardantworten, dass im Endeffekt der Fehler auf meiner Seite liege und kein Erlass der Nachzahlungs- und Strafgebuhr moglich sei. Kundenorientiertheit geht anders.

Diese Rechnung wurde aber nur in der Weise korrigiert, dass ich jetzt die angeblich offene Rechnungssumme uber EUR 198,00 auf ein spanisches Konto uberweisen soll. Dieses wurde mir gleichzeitig mit einer Mahnung und der Androhung zur Ubergabe an ein Inkassounternehmen geschickt. Wie schon im August geschrieben: die zu Untecht erhobene Gebuhr wurde bereits im August von meiner Kreditkarte abgebucht und ist auch nie storniert worden. Jetzt soll ich nochmal zahlen obwohl ja schon alles gezahlt wurde. Unverschamt. Da muss sich ein Unternehmen wie HERTZ uber doppelt geforderte Gebuhren bereichern! ACHTUG Abzocke!!! Dieses Mal ist es aber anders. Eine Ubergabe des Fahrzeugs erfolgte nur durch Schlusselubergabe, das Fahrzeug selbst steht im Parkhaus gegenuber dem Terminal. Die Ruckgabe erfolgte leider auch nur durch Schlusseleinwurf in eine Box. Ein Kontakt mit einer Person erfolgte leider nicht. Hier liegt nun das Problem. Mir wurde ein angeblicher Schaden angelastet, den ich nicht verursacht habe. Als Nachweis habe ich bei Fahrzeugabholung zwar Fotos gemacht, aber eine schriftliche Reklamation wurde bislang ignoriert. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass dieses mittlerweile eine Masche dieser HERTZ-Station ist (wenn man auch die anderen Rezensionen liest) Also Vorsicht und alle Schaden schriftlich festhalten und unbedingt durch die Mitarbeiter bestatigen lassen. Mir wurde EUR 198,00 belastet fur etwas was schon vorhanden war.

The Hertz office at Palma Airport is not in the arrivals hall, but opposite the middle exit in the entrance area of the car park. The employees were very friendly, included our order 1:1 in the contract, the waiting time was short and everything was explained to us. A contract without a deductible avoids any discussions about damages. The large car we ordered was almost 1 year old, well maintained and clean. When returning there are 2 entrance lanes into the car park on the right, P0 and P1, drive slowly here and follow the signs. Returns quickly, friendly and hassle-free. Gladly again.

Die Mitarbeitenden waren sehr freundlich, haben unsere Bestellung 1:1 in den Vertrag ubernommen, die Wartezeit war kurz und uns wurde alles erklart. Ein Vertrag ohne Selbstbeteiligung vermeidet alle Diskussionen uber Schaden. Der bestellte grosse Wagen war knapp 1 Jahr alt, gepflegt und sauber. Bei der Ruckgabe gibt es 2 Einfahrtspuren ins Parkhaus rechts ab, P0 und P1, hier langsam fahren und gut an den Schildern orientieren. Ruckgabe schnell, freundlich und problemlos. Gerne wieder.

The signs for pick-up and drop-off were misleading and incorrect. When you arrive, the signs point to a counter that no longer exists. At the time of delivery, the street signs and signs were never adjusted depending on which direction you were coming from. Its a disaster to find the right entrance, especially at night. Bei der Abgabe sind die Strassenschilder und die Ausschilderung, je nach dem aus welcher Richtung man kommt, nie angepasst wurden. Gerade bei Nacht eine Katastrophe den richtigen Eingang zu finden. Wir sind auf 5 weitere Fahrer mit dem gleichen Problem getroffen.

Rent a car for 4 days, 490 including the 200 deposit that they make you pay for the gas tank, all-risk insurance. A la espera de que me devuelvan la fianza, en caso de no ser asi cambiare la resena a 0 estrellas. Tambien llame varias veces al telefono que tienen de atencion y ni me respondieron ni una sola vez. En caso de que lo hubiera necesitado de urgencia a saber que hubiera hecho.

I dont often post reviews, but I wanted to give some feedback. I took Hertz because it is a large, recognized company (I have already had problems with small local ones). I then saw all the very negative comments. So I was super worried to the point of wanting to cancel, but it was too late. So I collect my car in the morning at 8:30 a.m., pleasant welcome, the person spoke French with a smile. Come to pay the deposit of 300 euros, 1st anxiety with the credit card (like everyone else I have a debit card), finally it was accepted without any problem (just payment of 100 and 200 euros, because it seemed to have a limit). I sign the inventory when handing over the keys (without seeing the vehicle), I receive it by email (sender of the proa email, in my opinion, it is not a local subcontractor but rather the company computer which manages report editions in pdf, contrary to what I have read). Arriving in front of the car, I go around well, several small undeclared hiccups. I go to see the agent who is available, attentive, who walks around with me, he takes new photos and makes me re-sign, everything is ok (I just didnt receive the 2nd email, despite the fact that he told me he was sending it to me). A few days later, on the way back, I see the agent on site who was also present and available, who walks around the car, no additional problems, everything is ok, I was even surprised because everything went so well pass ! Concerning the deposit, it was indeed taken (but a priori, nothing absolutely abnormal or illegal). I received the refund 3 days later. So perhaps I was lucky based on the comments, but for me, everything went perfectly, I therefore recommend this agency which offers attractive prices compared to other agencies of the same reputation. The entire agency staff was available and ensured that everything went well.

Jai ensuite, vu tous les commentaires tres negatifs. Jetais donc super inquiet au point de vouloir annule, mais cetait trop tard. Je recupere donc ma voiture le matin a 8h30, accueil agreable, la personne parlait francais avec le sourire. Viens a payer la caution de 300 euros, 1iere angoisse avec la carte de credit (jai comme tout le monde une carte de debit), finalement elle a ete acceptee sans aucun soucis (juste de paiement de 100 et 200 euros, car il semblait y avoir une limite). Je signe letat des lieux a la remise des cles (sans voir le vehicule), je recois celui-ci par mail (emetteur du mail proa, a mon avis, ce nest pas un sous-traitant local mais plutot la societe informatique qui gere les editions de rapport en pdf, contrairement a ce que jai pu lire). Arrive devant la voiture, je fais bien le tour, plusieurs petits accrocs non declares. Je vais voir lagent qui est dispo, a lecoute, qui fait le tour avec moi, il prend des nouvelles photos et me fait resigner, tout est ok (je nai juste pas recu le 2nd mail, malgre quil mait dit quil me lenvoyait). Quelques jours plus tard, au retour, je vois avec lagent sur place qui etait egalement present et dispo, qui fait le tour de la voiture, aucun probleme complementaire, tout est ok, jetais meme surpris tellement tout sest bien passe ! Concernant la caution, elle a effectivement ete prelevee (mais a priori, rien dabsolument anormal ou illegal). Jai recu 3 jours plus tard le remboursement de celle-ci. Jai donc peut-etre eu de la chance aux vues des commentaires, mais pour moi, tout sest parfaitement passe, je recommande donc cette agence qui offre des prix attractifs par rapport aux autres agences de cette meme notoriete. Lensemble du personnel de lagence a ete disponible et a fait en sorte que tout se passe bien.
