Vorsicht vor Buchungen bei Hertz: Nach langerer Wartezeit (es war gerade Schichtwechsel) wurde uns das Fahrzeug ubergeben. Das Fahrzeug hatte einen schweren Lackschaden an der hinteren rechten Tur (siehe 1. Foto). Die Tur liess sich nur mit Druck schliessen (Verkehrstuchtigkeit?). Dieser Schaden war im Ubergabeprokoll festgehalten. Bei der Ruckgabe des Fahrzeugs stellte der Mitarbeiter einen Kratzer am linken Frontflugel fest, der scheinbar noch nicht bei der Ubergabe vorhanden war (siehe 2. Foto). Der Mitarbeiter versuchte Druck auf mich auszuuben das Protokoll zu unterzeichnen. Nach meiner Weigerung (ein minimaler Schaden, der zudem nicht von uns verursacht wurde) und einer Beschwerde im Hertz-Office wurde der Schaden aus dem Protokoll gestrichen. Ob Hertz diese Betrugereien ofters versucht (der Mitarbeiter wirkte darin sehr routiniert), vermag ich nicht zu beurteilen (unter Druck das Flugzeug erreichen zu wollen, konnte dies ein eintragliches Geschaft sein - wir hatten Vollkasko mit Selbstbehalt). 1. Tipp: Buchen Sie nicht bei Hertz! 2. Tipp: Falls Sie doch bei Hertz gebucht haben, kontrollieren Sie das Fahrzeug vor Abfahrt sehr sorgfaltig (nicht einfach im dunklen Parkhaus) und verweigern Sie die Ubernahme bei nicht protokollierten Schaden.
Be careful before booking with Hertz: After a long wait (it was just a shift change), the vehicle was handed over to us. The vehicle had severe paint damage to the rear right door (see first photo). The door could only be closed with pressure (roadworthiness?). This damage was recorded in the handover protocol. When returning the vehicle, the employee noticed a scratch on the left front wing, which apparently was not there when it was handed over (see 2nd photo). The employee tried to put pressure on me to sign the protocol. After my refusal (a minimal damage that was not caused by us) and a complaint to the Hertz office, the damage was deleted from the record. I can't say whether Hertz tries these scams more often (the employee seemed very experienced at this) (under pressure to get to the plane, this could be a profitable business - we had fully comprehensive insurance with a deductible). 1. Tip: Don't book with Hertz! 2nd tip: If you have booked with Hertz, check the vehicle very carefully before departure (not just in a dark parking garage) and refuse to accept it if any damage is not recorded.
Waiting for no car!
While at the check-out desk the person explained me she has to make a creditcard deposit of 250EUR as security if I wouldn't return a full gas tank. Since I booked with a debit Mastercard she couldn't make a reservation so she debit my card for 250EUR. I asked her if it's refunded if the car is returned with full tank what she confirmed. I returned a full tank. They now allege I paid the 250EUR upfront for the gas and I don't get any money for "unused" gas... It's a scam. Edit: After several month and many email and phone calls they finally believed my version. the money was refunded.
After reading the recent reviews I was already sweating thinking of what might go wrong at drop off. I had the car for 2 and a half weeks, we went to the beach so there was just a little bit of sand inside, we had mud rain in those two weeks - so the exterior wasn't very pretty either. But to my relief, after a quick inspection, the agent went 'perfect! all is good', I signed the form and we went on our merry way. Car reception was also good. We had the booking made through a third party because it was cheaper, and after we landed (8 PM on a Monday), the car was waiting for us, and there was no queue at the desk. Ft reaching the desk to the car in under 10 minutes.
The working condition of the service staff is very poor, and the problem of the vehicle cannot be solved in time, which is a waste of our time
We usually have good experiences with Hertz and used this company all over the world. However here at Palma de Mallorca we had an issue that Hertz Mallorca did not solve correctly. On our return we had a very early flight so we had to retun the car around 06:00 AM. At this early moment of the day we were not able to find a petrol station to fill up the tank. We mentioned this when returning the car. Afterwards we noticed that Hertz charged us 3 euro (yes, three euro) per liter where the average price at that time was around 2 euro's per liter. A lot of emailing, but Hertz was not able to refund the correct amount. ("I'm sorry" they said, "we are not a gas-station" I call this stealing from your customers. I cannot give ZERO stars
We arrive there and we take 40 minutes to get to the front desk, before there was a girl who checked my reservation and didn't realize that I make a mistake with "La Palma" in Canarias. So when I arrived to the front desk they told me that, but they were not available to solved it because they are "NOT THE COMPANY" and the CS of Hertz didn't answer to her. Finally I loose my money, for a simple mistake but no one try to help us.
Very friendly. Gold card upset me for taking my money and not accept my card. Here solve everything!!!
