Mexico Rent A Car in Merida

I had a great experience renting a car from this agency without booking in advance. The agency had a car available, and the staff spoke English, explaining everything I needed to know. Their service made my trip much smoother and more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone needing a hassle-free rental in Merida!

Overall the rental went fine except for timing which makes it not very worth it for the high price. We booked 2 cars one was going to be ready at 8.40am and the other would be brought back at 9.00am so the owner told me I could get it then. Already these times are late if you want to make the best use of a car for the day taking into account distances in mexico and how crowds can get. We arrived at 9am. The shop was closed and he told us he was cleaning the car which took another 15mins. By the time we were done getting stuff ready etc we only left at 10am. We can bring back the cars until 9pm but anyways sunset is at 6pm and everything closes early. Therefore we did not do what we had planned that time which made it not worth it as it is 1000pesos for a day of rental per car. Be aware of this. The rest went OK it's just we wish we could have gotten the car at 8am or worst at 9am but not 10 !!

Great experience with them! I picked up the car in merida yucatan and dropped it in cancun airport. I visited so many places and It worked really well during the whole trip . Alvaro and his crew were really helpful and polite. They made possible my first roadtrip and my friend Meg and I thank them a lot hope to see you soon!

We had an excellent experience with this company. The owner is the epitome of customer service. We only needed the car 4 or 5 days to visit sites well away from Merida , for any near ones and in Merida we used Uber taxis. I would not recommend driving in downtown Merida as an introduction to driving in Mexico, as just being a passenger in a taxi there was exciting enough at times. The owner kindly delivered and picked up the rental car to our Hotel on the outskirts, which saved us four journeys, two taxi rides and two harrowing drives back and forth plus the cost of the taxis. The owner refused to accept any extra payment for his time nor for the cost of his taxis home. The rental of the car for 5 days, including the mandatory Mexican insurance and the deposit for any damages was so modest that even if we had lost our deposit it would been still been cheaper than just hiring a car with some other companies. I would whole-heartedly recommend this company, and would just like to thank the owner once again for his excellent service.

A family owned business with English speaking staff. Alvaro was very easy to deal with. He explained the rates and the covered insurance, we went through the car and noted all nicks and scratches, went through the ownership papers (which were complete and up to date) and he showed me how to operate the car. I was given two numbers to call if I had a problem and he said assistance would be provided within 80km of Merida. These are all the important things to know and do when renting in Mexico and Alvaro provided all of this without having to ask. The rate was very competitive and I got a discount on my second time renting. Highly recommended and I would use again.

Our experience with Mexico Rent A Car in Merida was nothing short of outstanding. Firstly, the car we rented was excellent value, better than all other car rental companies we went to in Merida. The owner was very accommodating, relaxed and helpful. This is where his customer service proved to be incredible; we found out late Sunday evening that our bus out of Merida was leaving at 7am instead of 10am. I had to call the owner on Sunday night to see if he could get into his office very early the next morning (6:45am) so we could drop the car off, sort out returning the deposit and get to our bus station on time. He agreed, everything went super smoothly and he even offered to take us to the bus station in the morning. I offered him a generous tip which he would not accept. It goes without saying that a larger franchise rental company would not have been so accommodating, and Mexico Rent A Car doing this for us saved us a lot of money and extra planning. Thanks again!

All arrangements by e-mail were kept . Pickup and drop off were flawless. The price per day was extremely reasonable. We rented the Attitude Dodge for ten days. No issues. Not a new car but served our needs. Very friendly and spoke English . You can not go wrong with this friendly family owned company.
