i read your terms of service and did not find any point that says that my reservation cancelled if I do not pick up the car on time. I wrote to you and asked if my plane was late can I pick up the car the next day. your employee informed me that the reservation cancelled.... this is not stated in the terms and conditions. and what is strange because after all your company would earn money for one day of rental just for the fact that the car was in the parking lot. easy money.... in addition, the delay of the plane is not my fault and in the situation of the great flood in Valencia 29-10-2024 you could have shown more empathy. hundreds if not thousands of people had a huge problem. your company did nothing to help customers just added extra fees to customers.
Fuel Scam, beware! We paid for their more premium key and go service and have ended up being scammed out of fuel money. We picked up the car with less fuel than we dropped it off with and they've had the audacity to charge us over EUR65 for the tiniest amount out of the tank. Absolutely disgusting, I'm not sure how they expect you to get to the car park without a drop of fuel missing! Picked up with 640 range, dropped off with 660 and the dial shows near on the exact same amount on drop off and pick up. I'll be dragging them through every complaints system possible until they refund me. Absolute scam. Edit (19/10): I did get in contact with them and they sent me back a generic part of their T&Cs about receiving it with a full tank and returning it with a full tank. I'll now be asking to go through the Hojas De Reclamaciones.
The service overall was good from booking and adding documents to enable a quick collection. I liked the option to pay for complete insurance cover which avoids a large deposit being held on a credit card. Which overall the cost was still very reasonable. The car was perfect and what I had requested. The collection was ok although not being familiar with the key collection system it probably took longer than it should have to collect the key and complete the transaction. I will know how to do this the next time though. I did however find this service lacking in the personal touch and although there were plenty of staff around there was no acknowledgment of one's presence and I had to interrupt someone to ask where the car bay was situated. By complete contrast when I returned the car the operative that dealt with me was refreshingly helpful, friendly and chatty which turned my experience around to being a lot better than when I collected the car and regained my faith in the company. I now feel I would be happy to used Goldcar hire again. Thank you. I have included photos of the car when I returned it.
I recently hired a vehicle from Goldcar at Valencia airport and had the most amazing experience. There was no queue, the agent was efficient and very friendly and the car was better than I had and anticipated! Great job Goldcar!
Scammers. As you can see from previous posts their whole business idea is to make money out of small scratches that were there before and are charged over and over again. In my case they first tried to accuse me of smoking in the car and wanted an extra cleaning fee. I pointed out this was ridiculous, I don't smoke and the car didn't have the faintest smell of smoke. They then went on with their meticulous inspection with a flashlight and found a small white mark which was not on the report. After arguing which led nowhere, I simply went to get a rag and water and managed to remove the white mark, which appearantly was just superficial. Maybe the inspector put it there himself. Based on Goldcar's tricks I have seen in the other reviews it wouldn't surprise me. Anyway, after showing the employee that the mark was now completely gone he agrued that ge already filed the damage report for 400EUR, but he promised to make a note so that their backoffice could remove the charge tomorrow. Of course they didn't remove the charge. After numerous emails and phonecalls to Goldcar providing photos and employee's note, signature and stamp that no damage exist, all they do is ghost me. Stay away at all costs, you WILL get scammed.
Valencia airport, the queue machine was not visible. Many people were standing there long time before someone else (not yr clerk) suggested to pick up a queue number. With queue number, the clerks did not invite people in any logical way. Many people just went to counter and they got served without number. It was a mess. Picking up the car was a bit interesting, one guy (male) said there is no such car that you were sent to pick up. Another clerk (lady) came with the keys 1 minute later. It was there! Checking the car and pointing out some new existing scratches and dents went very smoothly. That lady was a professional. Using the car and returning it went without any problems. Setting aside the mess at airport counter, the overall experience was very good. Would recommend Goldcar any time. And I plan to come back and use one of your cars in one month already, this time from Barcelona airport.
Avoid this rental company at any costs! Additional service fees (10 EUR only multiplied by the number of customers...) were charges at pick up despite full payment towards booking.com. The first question when I returned the car was if a took the full insurance coverage with then, and as it was not the case the guy rushed to search any damage he could charge. He found 2 scratches that were actually already on the vehicle at pick up and I had photos to prove it but he rejected them as not taken inside the dark parking lot but outside on the day light to better check the damages on the first day of rental. The Goldcar employee initially told me that it was enough to take photos in the event of additional damage, not that they had to be taken in the poorly light parking lot, so DO NOT TRUST THEM ! Total cost 214 EUR more than the rental cost for 2 scratches for which I'm not responsible for. Actually there were plenty of damages already present at pick up, so many that I had considered that all the crosses on the contract should cover everything but not at all ! And the guy knew where to look at immediately. There were many unrepaired ones on the vehicle, which would tend to suggest that Goldcar are charging for scratches that are never repaired, probably in order to charge them easily to the next customers. Besides, the vehicle's tires were under-inflated and this safety parameter was not checked by Goldcar before delivering, this is another demonstration that Goldcar prioritize money over the safety of their customers, which is all the more revolting. For your information, the standard response below from Goldcar is of no use, I didn't get anything so now make your own opinion and make the right choice! My only hope is that at least some of you will choose an other rental car company after this review, I still have lost 214 EUR but at some point Goldcar will loose them missing any further revenues.
Upon receipt of the car, there were many serious damages not recorded in the report, such as damage to the windshield, serious damage to the entire door from top to bottom, and a serious blow to the fender. I had to look for employees to decide how it happened that the damage was not registered - I received the answer: sorry, we didn't see it. but when returning the car, 2 people walked around with a flashlight in a circle looking for damage, on the second circle they found not even a scratch, but abrasion that was only visible when the light of the flashlight was closer and they said, and here is the damage, you need to pay. looks like a scam Foto each damage not was found is atached )
