Such lovely staff! Really helpful and took the trouble to take us to the car and explain the controls & sat nav. We have used Sixt on a number of trips in the USA & Europe & quite frankly wouldn't use any other car hire company. The man working at the Santander airport office is particularly helpful.. wish we could remember his name! Thank you!

They scammed us, charging us an extra "Minimum excess L" we didn't book, resulting in 6 days * 33 = 199.74 EUR even though declining it at the counter. We already have coverage through our credit card. Also, our flight was delayed (outside our influence), and I called ahead of time because this location would be closed before we land (which is okay, as we just wanted to pick it up the next day), however, I had to call 3 times before they confirmed that I'd be able to still pick up the next day. Initially I was told that I'd still have to pay, and they can't guarantee that we'd be able to pick up the car. Again, a bad experience, because of them scamming their customers, instead of being honest and upfront.

Rented cars from this location multiple times, the staff is always beyond friendly which is very rare these days. Location is easy to find, cars are always new and clean. Never had an issue with them charging me from the deposit for bogus damages like other companies. Go for sixt if you don't want any headaches. Congrats for the really good services and really nice staff at the Santander airport.

My booking was without additional insurance as I have that already in my travel insurance. I confirmed this at the desk when picking up the car. Yet the additional insurance was added but when signing on an electronic device only the signature area was visible and in good faith you assume it is as per booking. We got charged an extra 300 Euro for 4 days. The guy at the desk also tries to sell you a full tank of petrol in advance claiming that works out better. Almost nobody will end up at a large airport (Barcelona) with an almost empty tank. I changed my review from 1 star because after my review SIXT was quite helpful to refund the additional insurance charged. They could of course see that I had booked without.

We rented a car and were told to buy the loss damage waiver and we were assured it would "cover everything inside and outside of the car". However we noticed that the hubcap was missing shortly after we left the airport - should've checked before but the staff did not check the car with us and they didn't tell us to at the time - we figured if the hub cap fell off it would be covered within the loss damage waiver (as we didn't damage the car or remove the hub cap, it was maybe poorly secured or not even there to begin with!!) we were strongly encouraged to purchase. However, when returning the car, we were told we would be charged for it. However they can't prove it wasn't there beforehand? Don't they check their cars before renting them? It's funny because they didn't give us the car we actually booked, probably so that they could scam us out of the money. Feeling very stressed that we will be charged additional costs and the man at the desk was very rude and patronising when we were asking questions about the deposit return and what will happen. It maybe doesn't matter to him but these things undoubtedly cost a lot of money and we were sold something under false pretences. AVOID! Horrible experience

I had to pay 221 Euros of full car insurance, despite having paid Ryanair already for the full insurance. It turned out that the insurance was not with the car rental but with Ryanair, therefore in case of problems, I had to pay SIXT and then ask for a refund from Ryanair. Highly dodgy because the rental mentioned by Ryanair was with Flizzr. So, perceiving the highly dodgy situation, I bought an insurance again directly with SIXT. The car was not in good conditions. Incredible for a new car. I have rented many times in my life, in different countries. Easily this was the worse experience.

I received the car with 28 dents and scratches listed in the contract and present in the car! It was the only one available with automatic transmission as I requested. On my return they didnt check me with the operator because it wasnt necessary since I was fully insured. I took multiple videos and photos of the car upon return. After a few weeks they want to charge me 183 Euros for a small mark on a rim. They informed me that my Wheels and Glass insurance that I had taken out at SIXT only covers the tire and that I had to pay for the damage, and ask for reimbursement from the body insurance, which I had taken out with Rentalcars. Although I have Rentalcars insurance that would cover the damage, I must point out that I have more than one video and photo in my hands in which you can clearly see that there is no mark on that wheel that they are claiming from me. Customer service tells me that my video doesnt have the best resolution to see that little scratch. I pointed out that 183 is the cost of an entire rim but the customer service is still not giving concrete answers to my question and is telling me to make a bank transfer and then ask Rentalcars for a refund. In fact, if I make the bank transfer I feel like Im defrauding Rentalcars because I have videos and evidence in my hands that make the complaint invalid. For work I have tried many car rentals, I have never rented a car with such scratches all over the bodywork. This means having wasted 20 minutes checking that all 28 signs have been reported on the contract. Customer service doesnt respond effectively, Im wasting a lot of time. For distracted renters, be careful! Taking videos or photos of the car is not necessarily proof of avoiding complaints. NOT RECOMMENDED

A distanza di qualche settimana mi vogliono addebitare 183 Euro per un piccolo segno su un cerchione. Mi informano che la mia assicurazione di Ruote e Cristalli che avevo fatto SIXT copre solo il pneumatico e che dovevo pagare il danno, e chiedere rimborso allassicurazione sulla carrozzeria, che avevo stipulato con Rentalcars. Sebbene io abbia unassicurazione Rentalcars che mi coprirebbe il danno devo sottolineare che ho in mano piu di un video e foto in cui si vede chiaramente che non e presente il segno in quella ruota che mi reclamano. Il servizio clienti mi dice che il mio video non ha una risoluzione ottimane per vedere quel piccolo graffio. Ho fatto acneh notare che 183 e il costo di un intero cerchione ma tuttora il servizio clienti non sta dando risposte concrete alla mia questione e mi dice di fare bonifico e chiedere poi rimborso a Rentalcars. Di fatto se faccio il bonifico mi sento di truffare Rentalcars perche ho in mano video e prove che fanno decadere il reclamo. Per lavoro ho provato tanti autonoleggi, non ho mai noleggiato una maccchina cosi graffiata su tutta la carrozzeria. Questo significa aver perso 20 minuti a controllare che tutti i 28 segni siano stati segnalati sul contratto. Il servizio clienti non risponde in maniera efficace io sto perdendo parecchio tempo. Per i noleggiatori distratti state attenti!Non e detto che fare video o foto dellauto sia la prova per evitare i reclami. SCONSIGLIATO

Bad experience the first time with SIXT. The guy at the counter told us that there was no need to review or photograph the damage to the car since everything was registered (something they always recommend you do). Anyway, I took photos of a huge mark that I had just in case. At the end of the rental, they charged us 139 for a small scratch that possibly wasnt even ours, since the car had quite a few from the beginning. They do it so that you rent with their very expensive all-risk insurance.

As I read from many others, perhaps a way to keep part of the deposit, they ask to explain damages that were not there upon return to the airport. The car was perfect when I returned it and the manager, in addition to being late for work, didnt even come out to look. He was sleepy perhaps. At 07:30 no damage.
