DANGEROUS AND UNROADWORTHY CAR WHICH TOTALLY RUINED OUR TRIP!!! We have been using Malaga Cars for over 20 years and our last experience in September was awful and will be the last!! We rented a car for a month for a road trip around Spain and were given (unbeknown to us) a car with 2 illegally bald tyres and had a blow out in the motorway! (Our tyre literally shredded and fell apart and we narrowly avoided a collision with a lorry!) We have been refused a full refund and given EUR80 for our inconvenience!
Absolute pleasure hiring a car from this place. We've used it twice now, if you go full insurance pick up and drop off are so easy, prices beat any other airport quote. Staff are friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone
My family rented two cars from 4th of October up to and until 11th of October for EUR209 each (Qashqai/Tucson). I would really recommend Malagacars.com! Upon arrival, a shuttle bus was awaiting at the courtesy bus section near Malaga Airport arrivals terminal exit as explained in the instructions provided by malagacars. It took us 15 min max. in total from exit terminal to Malagacars.com office. At the office it took another 15 min to complete the paperwork, pay (possible with debitcard with Full Pack insurances) and leave with the keys. I made a reservation for a Qashqai/Tucson with manual gearbox and got a free upgrade to a Nissan Qashqai 160 hp petrol with CVT-automatic, 6 months old, mileage 8.000 km. I would really recommend this car (category) for families looking for a spacious car for safe - and comfortable trips in Andalusia. The Qashqai climbed hills/mountains effortlessly in the Competa surroundings and nearby Camenito del Rey. My other family members got a 3-year old Jeep Compass which was a more scratchy and damaged, but still in good technical condition and powerfull enough for Competa surroundings too. Based on our experiences, I would say that the fleet of cars is good considering the price point (way less than Hertz, Sixt or Europcar in arrivals terminal). During return, minimal inspection of the car and fuel level is done and you can leave within 2/3 mins. With full pack insurance, you are fully insured without excess, which reduces liability and prevents you to discuss damages when returning the car. A shuttle bus just left, but within 15 mins we were in another one, after one of the staff members obviously noticed that the que was building up and instructed one of his colleagues to drive an extra shuttle bus to get everyone to the airport in time. Thank you for the car! It was fantastic for our journey around Andalusia, and we'll definitely return. One suggestion: it would be great if the cars were a bit cleaner. The one we received seemed like the interior hadn't been cleaned in a while.
Well what can I say, what a great experience. I picked MalagaCar.com as they were open 24/7 and I'm glad I did. Our flight was delayed by a few hours so we didn't arrive until 0230, followed the detailed photos to the pick up point, no one there to meet people, but no bother, received a phone call after 5 minutes to say the driver was on his way, very reassuring. A few minutes to their office and dealt with immediate by a lovely lady. She pointed us to our car which was in immaculate condition. A slight issue was that she said it had a full tank or I may have misheard if she said quarter of a tank? I couldn't get Apple Car Play to work, but did get the directions through the speakers, I'll order a more basic car next time. When I returned the car I did point out the fuel issue and again another lovely lady took my word for it, which was kind. 10 minutes later dropped off at departures. All the staff we met looked very smart in their matching uniforms and the process was effortless and very slick. I did take out the full insurance package so didn't need to worry about anything. We rented a car for 18 days for EUR450, I don't know if the price is good or not because it was the first time we rented a car. The car was a Fiat Punto... The car was like a car but what we found inside scared me (we had never rented cars from any rental companies before) so I have no experience if they all look like that.... It was dirty and very dirty!!! not vacuumed, sand, stones, not even some papers, bottles spilled from the windshield wipers... that's all about cleanliness, the car had a full tank and we were supposed to return it with the same. That's what we did. The car had damaged tires that were visible, torn, cutting the "thread", to be honest, it was our fault that we didn't check when picking up the keys because I would have asked for another car after a dozen or so days of driving, only then did we take a closer look at the condition of the car because when we got the keys I literally took 3 photos of the scratches on the bodywork so that it wouldn't be us, we had full insurance, so.... but after opening the door I was speechless and didn't take any more photos because I felt embarrassed would I recommend the rental company yes, but I would advise checking everything thoroughly and taking photos... and if I had any reservations I would ask for a car exchange. It was our fault that we didn't take more photos, luckily we didn't drive long distances, because I would have had concerns on a longer trip.
Excellent car rental company. Smooth pick up of the car, even got an upgrade on the car type. The car was very new. Deposit was returned quickly, either on the same day or the day after the car return. Only improvement point was just the long waiting time of shuttle bus arrival at the train station and to the train station, but it was still acceptable.
Exit from the airport, we follow the map, we arrive directly at the pickup point, the very friendly employee checks us in, the shuttle driver on the other hand was less so. 3 minutes later, we arrive at the agency offices. 15 minutes later we had the car, model as expected, not recent with some "traces" of use but a good BMW still rear-wheel drive. The employee told us that with the full service contract we don't have to worry but we can take photos, which we did. We have had the car for 2 days and it is perfect, power and comfort as we like... full cover and assistance for 379 euros for 15 days, the best value for money we have found...
