2019 was our 3rd year renting a car from Patry Car. Here's why: You make a reservation online, no downpayment. You enter your flight number with your reservation and a courtesy shuttle from Patry will pick you up at Malaga airport. They check your arrival time for you, so if delayed, no problem. And no extra charges for late arrivals. The car you've booked is there. The shuttle takes you to Patry in 5 minutes. Manager Juan will get you going in no time. He speaks Spanish, German, English, Italian and what have you not. He is also very likeable. Just some paperwork and a modest reservation on your credit card. For instance: a Seat Ibiza comes with a 350 euro reservation. That's all. No hassle with expensive insurances, waivers or any other BS that the big rental companies throw at you. A Seat Ibiza in August is 150 euros rent per week! Mind you, you'll not be driving a brand new car! Patry is cheap because their cars are about 5-6 years old with 60k+ kilometers on the odometer. Cars can have slight damage, but are safe to drive and come with air conditioning. Our current Ibiza still has bleutooth for spotify streaming and was presented to us clean as a whistle. So, when renting a car in Malaga: save yourself from expensive, unnecessary insurances, extra charges for a second driver or booster seats, ridiculous credit card reservations, added charges for fuel, drummed up damages and costs for not making the reservation in the name of the credit card holder. Just live with the fact that the car is used. That's all and you'll be fine.
