Owners Cars in Mahon

After a 45-minute delay on the bhx runway and with a cranky 3 yr old in tow, we arrived in menorca on a Jet2 package with car hire included via Autos Menorca/ Owners Cars. We didn't realise upon landing that there was yet another shuttle bus to the Autos Menorca office. Once at the office, I was given the option of paying either 127 euros for 'full insurance' or pre-authorising 1268 euros on a credit card in case of accident. (As well as 176 fuel deposit and 45 euro car seat hire). I didn't want the full insurance, it's a racket in my view or would be compulsory and I don't really use or believe in keeping debt via a credit card. Personal choice but, this is when the problems started. Unless you have a credit card with you, Autos Menorca: A) won't even accept 1268 euros CASH in lieu of the charge B) they won't take any other named drivers credit card, as the JET2 contract isnt in their name, C) they wont draw up a new contract at the office into the name of another person in the party who does have a creadit card to avoid paying the charge Once I did pay the 127.05 full insurance charge D) they won't show you how to fit their car seats for children if you don't use one in case it invalidates insurance E) They won't even store the pull out boot shelf for you for a week if you have too many cases. One of the least helpful companies I've dealt with in years. Computer really does say no here. Basically unless.you have a credit card you have to buy the ridiculous 'full insurance' and pay and associated transactional exchange fees (if relevant). You're on your own with any other issues. I haven't yet been refunded petrol deposit. Crazy bad and will be writing to Jet2 about who they partner with.

Not good. They came a part of a package deal. They are way too far away from the airport. No fun waiting outside for shuttle bus, then you get crammed in.Collection not good, they refused to inspect car with me, told me to take my own video and photos.Retuen experience, just the same. Knew car had no damage, but was worried they might spot something. Would not have been so worried if they had bothers to inspect on collection. Shuttle bus back just as unpeasant as on arrival

The truth is the following, believe me or not I know what I'm talking about. I have been coming and seeing Menorca for many years now and I don't usually leave reviews for anything. Now my balls are full. You have 80% of the car rental market am i saying right hahaha? Autos Menorca and Owner Cars are now the same company, bought by the same founder. More money, new cars and rental offices than all the competition. Congrats since here. I'll make it quick and simple, maybe this review can be your enlightenment. Your employees (specifically) at car delivery(return), 8 times out of 10, are incompetent from various fundamental points of view. Almost 100 return a day, hard to maintain a name and value in the long run!? Absence of verbal professionalism, absence of a basic but above all clear knowledge of English, car check without any note about the damage that was there before my rent. Why the damage is still there? With all the franchising Money collected? Most serious of all, the accommodation that your employees have, they chat or mess around to Natural. I avoid talking about my negative experiences specifically to maintain a standard in this review, as money is my last issue. Maintain professionalism but above all wake up and identify your bad apples ASAP. signed I****** Founder JC.

A bit tricky to find them outside the airport on Menorca, but once there everything was very smooth, so also leaving the car. A minor damage happened to the car during the journey but was cleared very quickly without discussions. Very good!

Owner Cars and AutosMenorca are the same company. Their rental cars all have 2 stickers on the back. One from each "company". Most rental cars we saw during our holiday on Menorca were from Owner Cars. The cars are OK . All pretty new with little mileage on them. We rented 2 cars. Both of them had some scratchmarks and dents. But no complaints on that topic. Cars are fine! Shuttle service from the airport to the car pick-up is very efficient. Biggest challenge is the paperwork and the unclear (and seemingly shady) arrangements that hat they provide. You need to sign all kinds of documents and pay all kinds of extra fees without proper explanation. The guy at the desk made it seem like it was all completely logical but to us the amounts did not make any sense. See attached photo of the choice we had to make. We booked the car via booking and also got an extra insurance. But that did not really help. Owner Cars does not know about the extra insurance and thus pushes their own insurance or wants to put a large claim on your credit card. Not a very nice way to start your holiday ... When we later checked all the amounts we figured we could have done without the insurance from booking. I would recommend this and keep everything with Owner Cars. Having their insurance makes it really easy to return the car without discussion about scratches and dents. We photographed every aspect of the cars when we got the keys but these were not needed. Owner Cars could prevent a lot of confusion and frustration if they would create some information deck and explain everything before you arrive. This instead of some spannish speaking guy trying to explain something that doesn't seem to make any sense. I can recommend Owner Cars. But make sure you don't get confused in the paperwork

I had an excellent experience with Owners Cars. The prices were reasonable, the service was friendly and efficient, and the car was in excellent shape with less than 7,500 kilometres. It is worth the trouble of navigating their somewhat challenging website and taking the shuttle bus five minutes from the airport. If you are going to go to the secluded beaches in Minorca the roads are very narrow, and so I strongly recommend you use Owners Cars but rent the smallest possible car that you can

Amazing experience with Autos Menorca. Booked a medium size car ,plus insurance in October 2023. I was given a Vw golf nearly new(diesel). Professional staff from the pick up point to the office and the return. Seriously great experience!!! Thank you

Great service. We rented a Vauxhall Corsa for three days through the hotel reception. The car was ready for the next morning. Fast, easy and friendly service. We would definately recommend using this service. The car was in great condition.
