Rental was fully pre-paid through Rentalcars UK. Picked up car on desk where the member of staff then asked for a holdings deposit. I confirmed I had already prepaid but was assured it would be returned. Car was returned on time with no damage. On return to UK, I was charged for 1 day rental and extra insurance for rental on credit card with no invoice. Extra 200 Euros>. I disputed this but both parties stated the charges hold and simply said I signed a contract (written in Spanish). Ended up paying for rental twice. Be aware when using, find this company very dishonest and will charge whatever they can.

Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews before booking our car since Hertz is a reputable company. We returned our rental in exactly the same condition and were charged $100 for a tiny mark that existed when we initially picked up the car. It is clearly a scam. There were no measurements taken and the women had an instant quote in mind that we had no choice to pay. If this happens to you, document the "damage", show it in scale next to something take the employees name and make sure to follow up directly with Hertz to let them know what this location is doing. Also in Spain there is a process to file a formal complaint. Ask the location for a hoja de reclamacion to document the incident.

Be careful, read the other bad reviews. Seems like a scheme. We had a car from Hertz Airport Mahon, when we brought it back, they said an obvious existing damage is from us, even though we have photos to prove that it was there already when we got the car. They did not accept the photos and said we should have mentioned it before we left with the car. Be careful, check damages with the Hertz office in the parking lot, the employees handing over the keys in the terminal does not make you aware of this. We found out they make it like that, because we had full insurance cover but from a thirt party company. This way they can save money on their own insurance costs on the back of their customers. Shame on you Hertz!!! Last time renting a car with you for us.

A disgrace of service. 7 days after delivering the car they returned half of the deposit and when I write to ask the reason they tell me that it is for returning the car 29 minutes late when that was not the case. The staff there gives you half the information because everything is in terms and conditions and then they charge you whatever they want that appears in the fine print. I know there are terms and conditions but this company uses them to take money from you for whatever. I will never rent with Hertz again with so many good and safe options out there. If you rent with Hertz, read every last line of the T&C and, not only that, ask someone else to do it in case they interpreted something differently. Unpresentable

The owner/manager is rude and (mis)treats customers in a contemptuous manner. For her, we are not clients to satisfy, but rather potential criminals or money-making machines, stealing money to see what she can overcharge us (first she chases me throughout the parking lot when I tell her that I am going to check suitcases before passing through the checkpoint on the way with just enough time and then asked me to charge me an extra day for the car due to the mistake of one of their employees, in the end they didnt charge anything extra because they were wrong). If you can, choose another one of the many car rental possibilities at this airport. You have to be happy in this life and with employees like those at Hertz it is complicated ;)

I rented Hertz Airport Mahon in August 2019. The male employee requested the deposit in cash and did not return it upon return. They asked for a deposit that we couldnt understand because we didnt understand the language, so of course we knew we had to pay it. But that is wrong. Be careful when renting a car.

Unable to make a claim. We are obliged to sign the rental papers without being able to see the vehicle, so remember to check for scratches before taking the car. Remember to take a video of the entire vehicle during delivery. I see that its a habit with them.... Disappointing.

The welcome was very good and efficient. I got a Kia Rio instead of a Clio. We do not walk around the vehicle with you at the start. I had to point out traces on the bodywork which were not mentioned... On the way back however we did it well this round, I was shown a slight impact which I had not noticed at the start. Had I missed it at the beginning, I dont know but I wonder since there were other unmarked traces... Otherwise the one from before that I pointed out at the start would have also been for me. In short, I was asked to pay almost 60 for this impact. So this way of doing things with this rental company is not great. Too bad, the rest had gone well until then.

I had some concerns based on some recent reviews but everything worked out very well for me. I took photos and videos before taking the vehicle to identify scratches and marks not listed in the rental contract (always useful to avoid unpleasant surprises). I absolutely do not recommend!!! We took possession of the vehicle without a checklist (just a document informing us that the vehicle has no defects) we even took a tour of the car and noticed a clearly visible scratch on the hood as well as resin on the roof which we immediately take a photo of. We return the vehicle 10 days later with a full tank of fuel and cleaned. No checklist for the return either. A month later, a nasty surprise, we were charged 90 without any explanation as to why this amount was taken. My emails sent have not been answered to date.
