The insurance was over the top expensive. Cost more than the car rental for the medium of 3 insurance options. 36EUR a day and even that was limited. Top insurance almost 50EUR per day. Even in Ireland & Scandinavia the top insurance was 22EUR. Everytime I looked at the car, I felt ripped off.

Stay away from this company. I rented a car for 24 hours, payed for parking it in closed garages. Nevertheless they blamed (and charged EUR 164) me for an existing scratch. The agent just gave me the keys and pointed where the car was. So, absolutely no delivery inspection. My mistake: I should have done an inspection by myself, so I could have seen the scratch before. Same situation when I returned the car: no inspection with me, they just took back the keys. I do not recommend this company at all.
The worst service, i get to the place at the scheduled time. And my car "was not there", they said i had to either wait one hour or pay an upgrade.... Couldn't expect more from sixt in spain... It's a shame this predatory practice is allowed here, just scamming tourists. Not recommended. Avoid it if possible....
My experience with Sixt ( Chamartin office ) was more than great starting from the great hospitality till the amazing customer service I had while I was traveling. Thank you Silvia , Randy and Cristina
This is the second time I have had the same problem with Sixt in Spain. I booked my car with miles, and at the counter, they offered me an upgrade for a closed value per day that included taxes (11 euros per day- I was forced to take the upgrade because the other car options were small and with me, there was a person with reduced mobility.). Today I received an invoice that does not match in any way and that makes me pay more than double the agreed amount. Now I have to spend time from work calling customer service, probably wasting my time and money (because it was the same a year ago). This is how a company earns some extra money but loses a customer.
!!! ATTENTION !!!! Thieves and scammers !!!. I rented a WV Polo 1001KYB car on 06/28/2009 at this Sixt company at the Chamortin Madrid train station. The car is a new run of 3000 km, if not one BUT. After returning the car and checking it, 40 days have passed, but I still have not received my money for the deposit. NOTHING!!! Think before you order from them.
Very good car rental company. I really recommend to rent from here. They treat you nicely and give you all information that you need. In addition, they advice you for the better way to save money while booking.
