I recently rented a car from SIXT, and I wanted to share my experience. First of all, I was very impressed with the car I received. It was exceptionally clean, almost brand new, and a pleasure to drive. However, there was a bit of confusion regarding the insurance. I had selected full coverage insurance, but when I visited your branch in Madrid, the employee informed me that the insurance wasn't fully comprehensive. Instead, there was an excess of around EUR1,400 unless I paid extra for full coverage, which I decided to do. Despite this, I was very pleased with your service, especially since you refunded the insurance amount. This was the first time I've ever received an insurance refund so quickly--within less than three days! Thank you so much for your efficiency. I'm not sure if it's because I returned the car clean and freshly washed, but I greatly appreciate the fast and professional service. Thank you again, and I look forward to renting with SIXT in the future.
Very bad after delivery service... Though I have a bought extra money for extra insurance and security I forgot my backpack with very valuable items inside.. I came back directly to the office and 2 times the confirmed orally and from the system that they found but in other terminal. Went arround every with 0 help telling me that there was no bag from the beginning..
Easy pick-up. Staff of course does try to sell more extras and insurance but quickly realized I had my 3rd coverage. The exact car I booked (Cupra Leon) was not available but a 2024 Peugeot 308 with just 20K km was a good alternative/same category.
Be careful with this office! (Sixt Madrid airport T1). I returned the car yesterday with a full tank of diesel. When I got the receipt today, it says that they filled the car with 2 euros of petrol, and charged a fee of 28 euros for doing this.
I returned a car at Barajas T1 after I drove it from La Coruna to Madrid airport. It was all time driven in the highway, with two stops in a petrol station to rest, where the car was at all times under my view. I parked at the airport T1, did a quick review and the car was as I got it. I went to the office, met the agent and I told her if we should inspect the car, she only asked if everything was ok, which I obviously said yes... then she said there was no need to inspect the car as I had full coverage included, and that I would get my deposit in the coming days. One day later I received a claim saying there was a scratch in the rear bumper and that they are evaluating if I should be charged for that.... Totally unacceptable. The agent should have checked the car when I told so, to validate the car was in perfect conditions... and in the case there was something abnormal, should be covered by the full coverage charge. I'm waiting to get my 500EUR deposit back. It's not the first time I rent a car in Sixt, but it's definitely the last one.
Made a reservation here and at Enterprise for a full size vehicle. Enterprise was going to give me a Volvo XC60 but the fuel door had been ripped off so they couldn't rent it to me - then tried to give me an Audi Q3 which my family couldn't fit into. Sixt saved the day with a brand new Peurgeot 5008 and we fit nicely. Car had only 6km on it when I got it! I unfortunately damaged the front bumper during the rental and they have now sent me the damage cost of 222 euro which I thought was VERY fair and reasonable. Sixt Madrid Airport seems to be running a very honest nice business. I highly recommend them.
When renting a car from here, check the car very well. Take photos of everything. Examine the interior very well because it is given dirty. The car given to me had numerous damages and there was garbage inside, the windows were very dirty. Be careful when buying a car from Sixt Madrid.
Apart from long wait at line the service was great. English speaking employees made the whole rental experiance much easier and overall pleasant. I got easy directiona where to get my car. Car was in great condition, freshly cleaned inside and outside. Returning was a bit of issue because I got a bit lost at the airport, but overall crew was very helpful and didn't mind asking questions etc. Very much recommend
