They rent you a car outside their own business hours, send you an email with the wrong opening hours and leave you stranded when you arrive at the contracted time. When you complain to customer service you will get an answer that does not address the issue and then no answer at all. EDIT: thank you for your reply. If you are really interested in solving it this is the Case #17491850 - I tried the way you suggested about a month ago...

I had an excellent experience starting from booking to payment and then up to car return. The team is very professional and the car was in excellent condition. Return at airport was very efficient. I would have given 5 stars but the staff who gave me the car couldn't communicate in English which was a setback considering i leased a tesla and i needed some guidance as a first time user. I do still highly recommend European for they were excellent at all other touch points.

I rented a car at the last minute for a one-way trip after two other transit options from Madrid to Bilbao failed (first a delayed flight, then a sold-out train). The staff here were very helpful, and the drop-off process on the other side couldn't have been easier. It wasn't the cheapest car I've ever rented, but solved the problem. Car rental companies often get terrible reviews, but these folks deserve a good one, because whatever they're doing is working.

Do not rent from Europcar, they STEAL your money. Without renting the car, they hide behind the management costs to STEAL FROM YOU, in my case 95. I have not even completed the reservation process and they have stolen almost 100 from me. A scam, from which we will have problems, if not I get my money back.

Es cierto que el proceso de recogida se alargo un poco entre que hicieron las fichas de cliente de los pasajeros, en otras empresas de alquiler de coche que hemos probado fue un proceso bastante mas corto. I guess it wouldnt be their fault but mine because I didnt have a credit card for the deposit, but a debit card so I couldnt take the car that I had reserved through booking. But they also didnt bother to give me an alternative beyond taking the money and reserving another one and paying it again, even though booking told me that there was no problem for them if Europcar modified the range of the reservation so I could at least take one lower range. So I didnt have to go and rent another one at Avis, which is next door, where they gave me the boot because I didnt notice when I got the car that they hadnt given me a 100% full tank. Come on, they are all birds, you have to go with things very well reviewed because at the minimum you lose money everywhere with these companies, my humble opinion.

Supongo que no seria culpa de ellos sino mia porque no tenia tarjeta de credito para el deposito, sino de debito asi que no pude llevarme el coche que habia reservado por booking. Pero tampoco se molestaron en darme alternativa mas alla de palmar el dinero y reservar otro y volver a pagarlo, a pesar de que en booking me dijeron que por ellos no habia problema si en Europcar modificaban la gama de la reserva para poder al menos llevarme uno de mas baja gama. Asi que nada tuve que irme a alquilar otro en Avis que esta al lado, donde me la colaron porque no me fije al coger el coche de que no me habian dado el deposito lleno al 100%. Vamos que son unos pajaros todos, hay que ir con las cosas muy bien revisadas porque a la minima pierdes dinero por todos lados con estas empresas, mi humilde opinion.

Si yo en un principio hubiera aceptado la oferta de una gama superior me la hubieran cobrado. Es un detalle que no me gusto nada.
