Be sure to read this review. Avoid this rental company. I ordered a Mini Rover, got a Citroen and an even higher price. The car was not charged and the gas was not fully refueled. I drove only 78 km on it and they billed me that I used 12 liters of gasoline. A lot of consumption for such a car, don't you think? In addition, they billed me for charging electricity and 12 liters of fuel that I did not drive. In addition, I paid 50 EUR and when I downloaded they wrote that I had signed the download protocol, but they didn't tell me anything about what I was signing to the guys in the garage on the tablet. It is a lie and a scam to the customer. This company has ended up with me all over the world. Watch out for the deception of the customer there. They also do scams on the windows, be careful, they will tell you that there is a crack, but there isn't one. I'm not the only one who was charged for purposeful damage to the glass that was actually there. According to other reviews below, it is clear that I am not the only one who paid for the deception of customers. They will find something that they would charge you extra, but I don't even want to understand that you can't burn 12 liters of gasoline in 78 km on some EKO Citronene.
Hello! I highly not recommend this company. When we took the car, they just gave us the keys without inspecting it. It's good that we made a video of the car, but it didn't help. When I gave the car back, they saw a scratch that was there and took off 800!!!!! euros. They don't accept any evidence. I highly not recommend them!!!
Overall experience of renting a 9-seater was relatively smooth, and prices are competitive. Pros - Best to book direct / online: Europcar do guarantee you the brand of car when you make the reservation through their website, unlike some comparison sites or other companies that only guarantee the category of vehicle e.g "9-seater MPV". - Bought the premium insurance, which came in really useful due to unforeseen circumstances of travelling in Spain. Would highly recommend for a hassle-free rental and peace of mind. - Location of the desk in the airport is very convenient (although most of the car rentals are located together). Cons - the wait time at the airport for picking up the car was a bit long, given that there weren't many people in front of us. - the interior of the car could have been cleaned a bit better. - Newer models of this category of vehicle would've been good as an option if available at the time

Few notes: 1-I rent Europcar in many countries. I have the perception that in Spain, the staff has aggressive goals for sell ups to increase revenue. This is OK, but it comes across as rude. You can achieve sell ups without pushing your customer around. 2-The car selected, Opel Corsa or equivalent, had 5 passenger seats. Instead only Panda was available that has 4 passenger seats. Furthermore it was a hybrid with very poor performance on the highway. The staff assured me that Panda was matching my selected class, if I wanted another car I had to pay a large increase as only high end cars were available. 3-Finally, with such a poor performance on the highway, I decided to return early in Bilbao instead of driving back to Madrid. I was told that there is no refund if I had pre-paid online. Again, this is not normal procedure. I was expecting a refund if the car is returned earlier - am I wrong here? I would appreciate feedback on points 2 and 3 to understand for future rentals.
Shout out to Esther at Madrid airport. fantastic service when we had a major issue with another hire company at the airport who had not reserved a vehicle for us despite being ordered 6 months ago. With Esther's help we were able to complete our road trip though Spain
the car I booked wasn't available, so they offered me an upgrade which I rejected. After checking for a long time, they told me that there weren't any other equivalent cars available so they had to downgrade. I was fine with it, but asked me to pay extra charges!! Absolutely speechless. I get the extra charge for an upgrade, but even for a downgrade?!?!
