Hello, eventhough I have got everything prepaid through Booking.com and insured, I have returned the car without any scratch, had no accident, returned it with full tank, you have taken 506EUR from my account. Nobody explained anything to me, so I will never ever use your scam company again. Please, be sure I will tell it to everybody.

What else do we need to do to have AVIS address our concerns and overcharge that are your fault??? We have been trying to contact you since 9/2/2024. You were nice enough to send an email request from Raul for a review of your services but you have no time to address our concerns. When we came to rent the car, We told Raul not to run the original card he was given and to run the second card because the second card had the CDW coverage on it. He assured us before we left that the correct card had been authorized and that the CDW had been removed from the contract. By the time we got to Sevilla, we realized the wrong card had been authorized and the CDW was not removed from the contract. We have been in contact with Avis in the US and tried to contact Avis in Madrid Airport to no avail. What are you going you do about it? You've erroneously charged us over $1000 for CDW we specifically declined with Raul.

My pick up experience was fine, albeit a bit of a long wait time. My experience with Avis the company was poor. I booked specific dates and times on their website, for the price they stated. I then received an email confirmation different to what I had booked online. To amend this I had to pay nearly PS300 extra. Their customer service didn't care. I have submitted a complaint to ECRCS.

Never rent a car at Avis Spain - they are scammers with the worst and rudest customer service ever. Just before my arrival, a worker at this location made a change to my reservation (without authorization) which increased price of our rental by EUR166.88 EUR. He wasn't able to fix it back but assured us that customer service will 100% refund us. However, after sending multiple emails with the proof of the original price (with numerous confirmation emails from Avis, the latest - just a few days before the rental start), their final response was "The final charge will be upheld. You are free to dispute the charge with your financial institution." In addition, the car we got was in a bad condition with worn tires which caused the car to get stuck in a parking lot (fortunately, a group of nice local people helped us by pushing the car out). I'm indeed going to dispute this with my credit card but also want to warn people on all web platforms to avoid Avis Spain as a plague.

SCAM: AVIS charged us $ 3,700 for damages which were not justified. Since it was early, we dropped off the key in the box. Then we received an email with the charge but we already checked in for our international flight home. I reported this to the Madrid Travel Fraud unit of the Spanish Tourism Institute. We also tried to contest this with AVIS, but they were unhelpful. They only communicate via email. Here AVIS responded "communicate with us on social media," like they do with all their other victims. We paid $29.46 / day (the equivalent of over $10,000 year) for damage protection but still had to pay $3,700. Look at the picture of the "damage." Does that look like $3700. In addition, the car had damage when we picked it up per the lease agreement. When we asked for an itemized bill of the repairs, they would not give it to us. They also didn't show us what the damage was before. Save yourself a headache and try another mode of transportation.

We were handed a severely damaged vehicle and luckily took photos of the damages we saw and they were already mentioned in the original contract. Upon return of the vehicle, we had to drop the keys in a drop box. By the time we were boarding our flight, we received an invoice for $1,200 for damages that were already on the vehicle. Beware of what seems to be a trend and a scam. They push the insurance and tell you they will charge the full price of the vehicle if you damage it to try to scare more money out of you and when that doesn't work, they change you for pre-existing damages. We are now stuck fighting these charges. Beyond frustrated and disappointed in Avis. Edited to include photos and video of the horribly damaged vehicle we received. Also, we now have two pending charges adding up to nearly $3k and Avis is not responding to emails with evidence of prior damage. What a nightmare! Stay away from this rental company!! **Updated to add that we did receive most of our money back with a simple email stating that in this instance, they found that we were charged in error. No apology, nothing. They did add, that $65 would not be refunded as they claimed we returned the vehicle late. The vehicle was not returned late but at this point, it's not worth our energy. Steer clear of Avis-Madrid Airport.

I had the worst experience with Avis-Budget at Madrid Airport. The person who helped there does not communicate and select random options. I was charged for fuel twice, even though I clearly stated I will return the car full tank. If you don't buy their coverage they will charge you for scratches not yours, even if you provide evidence.

The car delivered had damages that were not indicated in the contract and now I have to defend that I did not cause them. He leido su respuesta, no se como enviar dicho mensaje privado, les mande correos a su direccion para incidencias. Repito alquilo coches con ustedes cada 15 dias, con la app por rapidez. en este caso no recibi nunca contrato con danos (lo que suele llegar unas horas despues de coger el coche). Ahora reclaman danos existentes. Les he mandado foto con datos de la toma en la plaza donde lo recogi en el aeropuerto donde ya se apreciaban dichos danos. Espero su respuesta por correo

Day 5 I rent a car with them, they tell me about extended insurance and that it is basically to avoid liability if I get hit or to cover me if I hit someone... I dont catch it and bad luck that that night I get a flat tire. The car does not have a spare wheel so I am forced to call the tow truck and use the insurance that is included in the contract. I call the insurance again, they tell me that they had to take the car, they tell me that everything is covered so I shouldnt worry. The next day they take me to the airport, everything is fine, I call again and ask if they will charge me for transportation, to which they tell me no, it is covered. The rent was 37 which went up to 51 because I was wrong at the pick-up location... nothing happens but, they withhold more than 250 from me and now they have charged me 551 without notifying me, without notifying me, and without my authorization . I have made the claim obviously, they do not want to help me over the phone, they have lied to me, deceived me and taken the money in a bad way, I do not plan to rent with them again. Llamo a la empresa Avis y me dicen que no me preocupe que esta todo cubierto. El alquiler eran 37 que subio a 51 por que me equivoque en el lugar de recogida... no pasa nada pero, me retienen mas de 250 y ahora me han cobrado 551 sin notificarme, sin avisarme, y sin mi autorizacion. He puesto la reclamacion en consumo obviamente, por telefono no quieren ayudarme, me han mentido enganado y sacado el dinero de mala manera, no pienso volver a alquilar con ellos. Review the contract carefully, until you have everything clear, do not leave the office. And if you can, avoid renting at the Barajas office. Actualizo: recomendacion a todos los usuarios, si pueden, contraten seguro sin franquicia, revisen bien el deposito a la recogida porque nunca te lo entregan lleno, aunque en el cuadro marque lleno suelen haber recorrido un monton de kilometros. Revisen con lupa el contrato, hasta que no lo tengan todo claro, no abandonen la oficina. Y si pueden, eviten alquilar en la oficina de Barajas. Los clientes preferred, olvidense de la subida de categoria gratuita, porque nunca pueden o no quieren o no les da la gana. Lejos de ofrecer una subida gratuita, te meten un sablazo con una tarifa de venta de coche superior. Ultimamente en la web apenas tienen coches disponibles pero cuando llegas a la oficina si hay coches. En fin, vamos de mal a peor.

No lo podiamos creer. La comunicacion via telefonica fue casi insoportable e imposible. Por esta causa nuestro itinerario de viaje tuvo que ser modificado e incurrir en gastos que no estaban contemplados y nadie nos responde por esto. Definitivamente no nos cabia en la cabeza que una empresa como budget Espana pudiera entregar y tener coches tan malos y su irresponsabilidad fue enorme. Jamas los recomendariamos. Nos gustaria saber cual es su respuesta y responsabilidad frente a este caso lleno de tantos inconvenientes y sobretodo poner en riesgo nuestra seguridad. Donde podria enviarles la foto del estado de las llantas.
