This was a great service. I regularly rent cars in Spain, usually with trepidation. Not this time!
Car full of little scratches not reported, fuel in 3/4 but reported as "full" (staff said Citroen are like that), AVIS parking forcing you to drive wrong way, exit barrier not letting you out and needing to call security. When reporting issues vis app answer delayed by days but when making a formal complaint they message back immediately stating that the car was new and that I don't have President's club status in their "database" (which is false). Poor experience, seriously considering moving to Sixt with all the car rental I do with my company.
Very expensive insurance (from $43 per day for a medium-sized vehicle, more than the rental rate itself, and that does not include third-party etc). Unexplained charges for fuel, even when you return full-tank. Hard to find return point in Bilbao airport.
Renting from Budget in Bilbao was very easy and the people who greeted us picking up and returning the car were great. We upgraded from a manual to an automatic was a good choice as where we traveled had a lot of hills.
Rented a compact car for 6 days in Bilbao, Spain at a good price. The car was good, no problem during drive through the coast of northern Basque Country. Pickup and drop of were easy.
The most terrible car rental experience I have ever had. I was told for the first time in the counter I needed two credit cards for this car as deposit. Then I got the poorest car one can imagine, had multiple accidents and was all beaten up and also had technical problems due to terrible maintenance. I paid a lot of money and got a terrible service. I called the customer service and they were so rude and declined to help.
Quick check-in experience using QuickPass, my President's Club status was honoured and resulted in a double upgrade. Staff was very efficient and well prepared. I'd come again anytime!
Extremely happy with the service! Anna from the rental desk was super helpful and friendly. Big difference to Hertz in Barcelona last week, which was a terrible experience in every way. Budget/Avis are clear, simple, customer oriented. I have a favorite car rental company now.
