Everything went smooth. I ordered online, got confirmation. No queues, we were met at the airport. The car (Skoda Fabia) was easy to drive, spacious and well suited for the steep Lisbon hills. My experience was great.

We rented a car from Hire Car 4 Less for our Portugal trip beginning on August 27th due to the good reviews we saw (just noticed nearly all of the good reviews are old). First off, we made the reservation on March 22nd (5 months before the pick up),and the credit card was charged for the full amount at that time. Next, we were to be met by someone at Lisbon arrivals holding a sign with our name on it. That didn't happen and we had to call to get someone to come and pick us up. The car we were given was actually quite nice, (thus the 2 stars) but the GPS didn't work properly. We didn't discover this until we were almost to Faro, so we ended up having to purchase our own GPS. When returning the car and telling them about the GPS, we received rude treatment and were told we probably didn't know how to operate it (although we had no problem with the one we bought). We asked about a refund for the amount we paid for the rental of the GPS and were instructed to contact the main office. I emailed on September 8th and then again on September 11th. I finally received a reply on September 14th indicating they would refund the GPS rental amount. I asked when this would be happening, but received no reply nor have I seen a credit post to my charge card yet. I am not holding my breath.

We hired a car from Hire Car 4 Less for 2 weeks in April and I was amazed at the quality of service - a far cry from the big international hire firms, all of whom we've had problems with in the past (unexpected charges, not having the size of car that was booked, claiming there were new scratches when there weren't). HIre Car 4 Less were helpful, friendly and honest both when I was booking and when we were picking up the car and dropping it off. What's more they were much cheaper than the big operators. Will definitely use them again!

We go to Portugal often and the experience with service hasn't always been great, especially when it comes to car rentals. We found Amoita through google and they stuck out through their excellent reviews, so we decided to give them a try. We weren't disappointed, people were extremely helpful, service orientated and flexible, making this an excellent experience! They greeted us at the arrival gate after giving us a call when still at the baggage carousel to make sure we didn't miss them. Super professional and friendly company, no hesitation whatsoever to recommend them to anyone who needs a rental car in Portugal! Keep up the great work!
