Our car rental from Drive on Holiday Movida turned out to be a real nightmare that ruined our entire vacation. We arrived on time, but apparently only to spend two precious hours in a hellish queue at the office of this company. It all started with rude and completely indifferent staff who not only ignored us but also allowed themselves to be rude, bringing one girl to tears. Our reserved car - Jeep Compass hybrid - was left in the parking lot as a mockery, and instead we were given a Citroen C5, without even considering it necessary to apologize. And if you think that's bad enough, it's not - they prepared and washed the car for another hour while we were standing there wasting time, as if we were not customers, but an empty place. And that's where the whole horror just started. After returning the car, they charged us extra money for allegedly renting a transponder to drive on toll roads, although no one even mentioned it, let alone agreed to activate the device. The shamelessness of this company knows no bounds: complete indifference to customers, rudeness at every step and the desire to rip off money for every little thing. We lost an important three hours to get to the cultural objects for which we had bought tickets. Because of this disgusting company, we didn't just lose money - they ruined all our plans and left a disgusting impression of the vacation from the very beginning. This is the most nightmarish service imaginable. Never, under any circumstances contact Drive on Holiday Movida unless you want your vacation to be hopelessly ruined. The insurance was purchased, but the deposit they gave us was very huge and we had to pay extra for additional insurance so we didn't have to leave a deposit to this mediocre company!
I had a great experience with this company. I've rented many cars with various companies throughout the years and this was pretty seamless. They were easy going with looking for scratches which weren't there anyway, but that's unusual in my experience. I recommend!
Very fast check-in, we received our car in 15 minutes (reserved online). It was new, very clean, in perfect condition. There is also the Via Verde toll device present (paid separately), so we could use the motorways conveniently. Recommended!
Great company, great cars, and great service! Been a Drive on Holidays customer for the past 8 years and never had a problem. Their cars are new and always top tier models. No one ever tried to upsell me any extra insurance. All they do is give you options. People need to understand that there will always be a security deposit ( one that increases depending on the value of the car) and if you don't purchase the extra insurance you will have to hold a specific value on your credit card! I recommend this company to anyone who wants a great car at a great price!
We hired a car for 3 days at a relatively cheap price. Was impressed with the car however the overall service was really poor. We informed the company we would collect the car at 1pm. We arrived on time and it took 30 minutes before the shuttle collected us. On arrival at the office, the queue was out of the door and took 2 hours to get our car. I have hired cars in a number of different countries from different services and have never experienced such a wait. When raising this with staff I was simply told 'well its summer'. 2 friends had hired cars from different providers at the same time and were in and out in less than 30 minutes! This massively impacted on our plans and the start of our holiday. I also noticed the excess they hold is significantly higher than other providers, holding nearly EUR2000 on my credit card whereby friends had around EUR250 held. This also took a few weeks to be released which is a lot of money to not have immediately returned. Returning the car was a little smoother however again a longer wait than I have previously experienced taking around 1 hour. Luckily we didn't have to rush for our flight as we decided to drop the car off early given the long wait we experienced collecting it. Wouldn't recommend or use again.
The car was relatively new and well maintained. No issue with the car and only $160 for 3 day rental. However, they required $4500 (4100 euro) deposit for a car that has MSRP around $35,000. This was bizarre and something I never experienced with rental companies in the US or Asia. It wasn't even a hold on a card, it is a pre authorized deposit on your card. I had to speak with my bank to allow high transaction in a foreign country. What was disappointing was the staff's attitude during this process. Instead of working with me, he told me I can walk over to another rental company to see if they can offer a better deal because there is nothing they can do to change this price. Very nice car, and very clean building. About 10 min shuttle ride from airport (which comes about every 20 minutes). The staff are in orange polos, Drive on Holidays and Movida are the same company so dont get confused.
It was very satisfying service, and it was a pleasure to rent a car from this company.We love the private car from the company that pick us up and returning us to the airport. We had with us a child on 1 year, and we only missed that they secure the child in a car seat. They rented us a car seat for the child in the rental car. Excellent! Be sure that you read the terms correctly before you picking up the car. If you do that, then you get a quick service and delivering. It is a high deposit, so be sure that you have at least 3600 EUR on your credit card. We had no problem with the delivering after the rental periode. Thank you Movida! We see you again
Delayed service, delayed our plans for about an hour. A bit disorganized, when the vehicle was delivered they had not reported any scratches from the carriage in the report, so we made sure to record videos. They themselves recommend it, how illogical, but the detailed video of all the scratches on the car worked very well. If we did not have it, we were charged the insurance (2.100EUR)...
