Departures designed so that you must enter departure hall through Tax-Free Shop maze. Then when you queue for cashier a lady starts angrily shouting for not to block the hallway. Design your airport so that you dont have to pass through the Tax-Free Shop after security...
Great - easy, quick, no high pressure sales tactics. Gloria at the desk was a pleasure to deal with. A breath of fresh air vs other companies I had to rent from recently and much appreciated after a long journey.
I'm fully aware of the challenges rental car companies face nowadays - shortage of cars, demand is picking up rapidly and all. Yet, renting out such damaged cars is unheard of for me - especially for Sixt. Sixt claims it has the largest fleet of luxury cars, bt in my opinion, there is nit much luxury about driving around in a damaged Audi. Also, as a Diamond member of Sixt, I'm used to get a great choice of upgrades. Nowadays, upgrades are tough to come by. It's not a huge deal, rather something slightly disappointing. There wasn't even an automatic car available. The staff at the station is friendly, attentive and do their best to make me feel welcome and valued as a costumer, and that's what keeps me coming back.
I did the reservation via DiscoveryCars - has a voucher with the total price i will pay for car rental + child seat. After arival in SIXT office they asked me to pay extra for "taxes" that were not included in the original reservation ( but in fact there were). At the end Sixt returned the "extra" charge for taxes after making a complaint.
Yurena helped us big time when we arrived at Las Palmas airport. We stupidly reserved (with another company) a hire car for La Palma and so desperately tried to book a replacement. Yurena was really helpful, friendly and gave us a very good deal, in fact a better deal than the competing company. It left a good impression and we'll book with Sixt more often. Thanks Yurena
Overall good. If there is no one in the SIXT office in the airport car park when you return the vehicle, just drop the car key into the deposit box at the back of the sixt office in the car park. You don't have to wait for someone to return.
We rented a Audi Q5 for a week. Pick-up was fast and easy. The car was waiting in the nearby garage with the child seats we requested already installed. I booked through cartrawler so I had an insurance already bought for 20 euros. This didn't stop them from trying to sell me their own insurance which is a lot more expensive (at least 10 times more). They tried to scare me into taking it but fortunately I was well informed so I didn't take the bait. Return was also very easy, I just drove the car to same place under the car return sign and returned the keys, that's it. They released my deposit a week later.
