Lencar Canarias (Central) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Rented a 125cc and a 350cc scooter, friendly and helpful service, easy to hire, with an extra helmet a couple of euros a day extra. Process of hiring probably takes 30-60 mins, as does return of vehicles. Would recommend and use again.

AVOID! They have NO INSURANCE for the vehicle and you are responsible for all the damages! They don't mention any of this during rental, just take a EUR200 deposit AND your credit card details. If you are unlucky enough to have even a small incident you have a big problem! I rented a scooter and it fell over on the side when I stopped on a hill. It resulted in a few scratches where the edges touched the ground but other than that everything was in order. However, I had bad luck because the scooter was new so these scratches were the first. I was ready to give away some of my deposit for their inconvenience of handling this but after a few weeks they told me repainting cost over EUR500 (!) and I should be thankful because they would "only" keep the full EUR200 of my deposit. Turns out you are not protected AT ALL because they have no insurance for the vehicle (only insurance for other people, required by law) and there is NO LIMIT on how much they can charge. They don't tell you about it when you rent, it's only in their lengthy T&Cs. I can't even think what would happen if someone was unlucky to have a real accident! Other rental places on the island offer either full insurance or an option to buy one, so avoid Lencar and choose another place that cares about the driver!

Great service and competitive prices over las Palmas. Overall cars and scooter were fine to travel all over the island. A special mention to Tommaso for his service, he was available for anything and showed remarkable professionality.

I was very happy with everything especially the service I received from Tommaso. He answered all my questions by WhatsApp and clearly explained what was needed by e-mail and he made everything very easy!! The van itself, I hired a Transit custom for 24 hours, was clean and in great condition and it only cost 55 euros!!! I highly recommend Lencar and I will definitly be using them again.

Rented a scooter for 1 day. Staff is not fluent in english, but worked it out anyway. Decent scooter, 125 cc sure gets you to 100km/h on the highway. Also gets you to the highest point of the island no problem. Staff did a proper pre check of existing damages and a proper post check as well. Make sure to video the thing both before and after to cover your own, just to be sure. I rode 200+km on it no problem. In case you need to stall it overnight I suggest getting a 5 euro 24 hour pass at garage Ariaja closeby instead of leaving it out on the street. Good service, good experience 10/10 would recommend.

Friendly and decent car firm centrally based in Gran Canaria. My car was smart and economical, just the job for whizzing around the islands. Uncomplicated service and you're not offered a load of insurance products in a blizzard of terms. You just need to return the car full with fuel. Recommended.
