Dollar Rent A Car in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

You pick up the car in a poorly lit garage. Parked tightly you are expected to inspect the car for damages. Shouldn't the company already have a record of this? We found one tiny scratch and showed the agent who shrugged it off. Returning the car another agent examined the car with a torchlight and a thoroughness reserved for an operating theater. A pinpoint paint chip was found. The pinpoint damage had the appearance of being quite old. It's size was of such it's no wonder we didn't notice it upon acceptance of the vehicle. Bottom line..EUR90 charge. Although we could retrieve this from our insurance, it's clear that there are very questionable business practices at this location. We travel often, and Dollar has lost our business.

No problem. Ordered online, paid small fee for 6 days and they refunded deposit to credit card within 1 hour of returning a car. Pick up and drop off point was right at airport at Hertz office. Just make sure when you pick up a car you check exterior for any minor damages and tell a pick up officer to update car file if scratches were not photographed and marked.

Good service. Free bus from and to the airport was a bonus. Cars all clean and tidy, staff very helpful. No car walk around though. You're given a sheet with any marks on the car you're picking up. In hindsight this is good as you're able to check the car for damage, and hopefully, bring it back with nothing extra on it. Great price too. Certainly worth considering.

I would really recommend Dollar Car Rental since it is one of the cheapest car rentals from the airport. The car that we drove ( a Renault Capture) was great. It was clean and technically in good conditions. The staff was very correct and helpfull. The only downside for us was that we had to search for quite a long time before finding te meeting point for pickup by a shuttle bus to the car rental office: It is near the Spar Supermarket in the arrival hal. Overall we were very satisfied!

By far the most friendly and helpful staff in the airport district in Gran Canaria and I have been visiting for 26 years to visit family, I wish I had used them before. I didn't because they are off the airport yet I was in the car and on my way much faster than the airport car hires.

Top service!! Correct, there is no kiosk in the airport which made me wary at first. But, as instructed we were picked up outside Spar (shop) and taken to the professional Car Lot (10 minutes away) and got our car with ease. We had absolutely no problems and the drop off was equally as casual. Highly recommend and I would definitely use again. I see people saying they had to wait ages to be picked up. Traffic can't be helped. *Don't forget you need a Credit Card if you don't want to pay the extra daily insurance cover.

The office is a circa 10min ride away from the airport. A shuttle bus picks you up and brings you there (both ways). Both, pick up and return were quick and professional.

Be warned: avoid this rental company!! As per other reviews, this place will do everything they can to rip you off. My advice if you make the same mistake as us and book it because the prices look cheap: make sure you take photos of every part of the car before you leave. We made the mistake of not doing this and then they found a tiny mark on the car and charged us EUR140. Also this place is far from the airport not in the airport like the other companies, and the guy was not waiting for us at the spar as the instructions said. To make matters worse despite the fast this place does exist on google maps it doesn't come up when you search for it since the street is it yet on google maps, so it is difficult to find when returning the car.
