Took a chance despite the bad reviews as I have my own insurance anyway. We had no problems at all, so can't complain really. The car was new and in good condition. The staff member was fine, with quick pickup and dropoff. The only issue is that the place is quite far from playa Canteras where we stayed. It was about a 20 min walk, and not in the nicest area, so get a taxi there if you don't fancy walking in an industrial area. Also, it's in a sort of indoor garage rather than a nice looking car park area. But at least that meant it's shaded, and there was a toilet too. So basically, I didn't get the impression they are 'scammers' as previous reviewers said. And they didn't try to claim for damage to the car - probably because I didn't damage the car.

THIEFS AND SCAMMERS !!!! DO NOT RENT WITH AVIS !! We rent an Audi q2 on 3th of August. When we came back from the beach of sotavento, we saw that we get a tire so my husband changed it. Then we went back to the hotel and call the assistance to know if there is something to declare. No, nothing to do, and the car is covered by an assurance so everything should be ok. The next morning we gave back the keys and avis' assistant made photos of the tire (that she sent us). we also took some photos and videos to have proves that nothing else was dommaged (f.ex.rims or something else). On the 4th of August we payed the invoice for the tire and car immobilisation (117 euros more than the rent Price). Ok, we understand. Yesterday avis sent us a new invoice of 483 euros, 5 days after the restitution of the car. And for what?! "Danos"? Which "danos"?!!! Your assistant made photos, there were any dommages a part of the tire, and we have already payed it! You are trying to rip off our money with an invoice with no explanaitions and no photos of presumed "danos". i tried all of the day to contact you by phone, but nobody answers. I also called the hotel of Rio calma to help me to contact you!!! I will go to the police if you do not find a solution. You are a band of THIEFS.

Anyone who booked a rental car at Avis picking up at this address should be careful. They moved their office without notifying their customers. The new address is Cala Sucre 15, 7 minutes away by taxi n costs around 5EUR to get there.

Avoid them! You won't be able to drop the car whenever you want (in spite they say you can). Office open hours are ridiculous (just few hours a day) and in the end you will recieve your invoice and find they have cheated you by increasing rental hours falsely. Please choose anything else, or better use your own feet.

Watch out, they wanted an extra $80 for insurance on our $120 rental even though our quote from the booking in Avis app already included "everything". When we declined to pay this we were left to drive off completely uninsured according to them.

Good service. Its just hard to understand whether its Avis or Buget. Avis staff helped to find Bugets new office, which was an Avis office. Thank you to the Avis employees at the port for their help and responsiveness to take me back to the ships journey.

Be very careful with AVIS, not only are they not pleasant or attentive, if they can they charge you anything that you then have to justify that it was charged incorrectly. The cars are dirty and must be inspected in great detail. I have been waiting for almost 20 days to receive a refund for a cancellation confirmed by them and there is no way. If you want to talk to them, you have to pay to call them at 902 and they dont answer by email even by mistake. Anyway, in the end we report them and the ones who win are the usual ones, the lawyers. Tras llegar hoy al aeropuerto a ultima de la tarde, por enesima vez se habia cambiado la ubicacion de la oficina unas veces en el parking exterior del aeropuerto otras en el interior de la terminal. Lo grave es que entre una oficina y otra dista 1 km con maletas cargado a las 20.30 de la noche despues de un dia extenuante de trabajo . Pues me ha tocado por quinta vez recorrer la distancia 2 veces. Ninguna senalizacion ningun aviso , ningun sms. Nada, solo prueba a un sitio o a otro. Es increible que una empresa de similar tamano de una imagen tan pobre. Ademas sin generalizar, la motivacion de los empleados es muy mejorable. Una pena la proxima vez pedire a mi empresa que reserve con otra compania.
