Pre-booked a car with Budget while in Canada. Took the train to the airport to pick up the car. No problem so far. Very confusing directions from the airport to rental location. Same for return.
Very good attention, responsible and very good vehicles
The people there don't quite speak English. I know is Spain and people here speak... well Spanish. It is quite hard to convince them to check the car when you return it. They say it will be checked in the future. Never let the car unchecked from any rent a car company. I'm renting cars since a long time in different airports large and small from different companies. The larger the airport and car fleet the more chances they will scratch it during handling. It happened to me twice already in a very large airport from a reputable car renting company... As such my biggest complaint is they do not check the car on the spot to give you a written document that the car is in perfect shape with tank full and returned to the right airport! If you did not rent enough times you might not know but it also happened they said I need to pay extra because I presumbley let the car in a different airport. Other company, other airport, but I had to prove myself with the embarking card that I flew from the designated location... You have been warned of things that can happen if the companies don't give you proof of good behavior .
The photo is an old one, taken before the construction of the new car park in which Avis is now situated. On arrival I found the old Avis desk closed up with no explanation where to collect the car I had booked. A friendly taxi driver explained that it had moved to the new car park.. a VERY long way. Returning the car was a much worse experience. I found the Avis desk and explained I hadn't been able to fill the tank because since the new access has been completed THERE IS NO FILLING STATION BETWEEN MOTORWAY AND AIRPORT. I was then informed I would have to pay for a full tank!. Rather than go along with this scam I spent the next 30 minutes trying to find a filling station so that I could top up ...for just EUR19. Avis Malaga is a disgrace.
Easy to find, quick handling. Only problem was the low capacity of the elevators, ok, one was closed, but even with that one working, I would have done what we did - WALK the stairs 3 levels up with all cases, meaning 3 turns for the group ...
