Rented an automatic vehicle with them on Faial. Will not use them again! The only thing positive is they were the only company that had an automatic vehicle available. They made us pay the full amount by bank transfer (not credit card) before we even arrived on the island. Second, they leave your vehicle in the airport parking lot with the key under the mat at some point before you arrive, but neglect to tell you that you have to take the ticket back into the airport and pay for the parking fee for the entire time the car has been sitting there in order to exit the lot. Lastly, you have to return the vehicle to their offices, not the airport. They then transfer you to the airport. They actually washed our car and went over it for damage while we waited. They found a small scratch and charged us over 200 euros claiming it would have to be repainted (despite the fact that there was already other damage on the vehicle that had not been repaired). Apparently, their insurance only covers damage over 650 euros. We've never had a rental car company charge us for a scratch smaller than an inch and not all the way through the paint, but they did. Because I had to pay for the rental by wire transfer and not with my credit card, I won't be able to file a claim through my credit card company's insurance.

Terauto, die grosste Autoreparaturwerkstatt hier auf Faial verspricht eine zuverlassige und schnelle Reparatur und Inspektion des Wagens - und halt es auch. Am Empfang wird bei Bedarf Englisch gesprochen, die Mitarbeiterinnen sind flink, effizient und (!) freundlich. Der Preis einer Inspektion angemessen und gunstig. Selbst verschiedene Automarken (eigentlich Vertragshandler fur Toyota und Citroen) werden gleichermassen gut bearbeitet. Ein Gewinn fur Faial
Terauto, the largest car repair shop here on Faial, promises reliable and quick repairs and inspection of the car - and it delivers. English is spoken at reception if required, the staff are quick, efficient and (!) friendly. The price of an inspection is reasonable and affordable. Even different car brands (actually authorized dealers for Toyota and Citroen) are treated equally well. A win for Faial
