Auf Faial absolut zufrieden. 5 Sterne. Auf Sao Miguel, Faial & Pico alles top. 5 Sterne! War auf 4 Inseln der Azoren unterwegs (Sao Miguel, Sao Jorge, Faial, Pico) und hatte alle Mietwagen uber Europcar online gebucht. Vor Ort wurde mir klar, dass Europcar (und auch Avis) lokal vom Anbieter Ilha Verde abgewickelt werden. Auch wenn man online alles bucht, sind Reifen- und Scheibenversicherung nicht inklusive. Egal was man online bucht. Auch wenn da volle Absicherung steht, immer explizit noch danach fragen und pro Tag weitere 8-11EUR einplanen, wer komplett sorgenfrei reisen mochte (bei egal welchem Schaden keinerlei Beteiligung). Wir hatten somit auf allen Inseln das komplett rundum sorglos Paket, was bei unseren Routen auch sehr gut so war (waren immer mal etwas abseits unterwegs). Auf Sao Miguel, Faial & Pico waren alle sehr freundlich. Auf Sao Jorge haben die Rechnungen und Leistungen von Ilha Verde nicht zu dem abgeschlossenen Vertrag von Europcar gepasst. Nachdem 3x ein falscher Vertrag gebucht wurde, mehrere Gesprache mit der Chefin stattgefunden haben, habe ich irgendwann einfach das Teil genommen, auch wenn da absoluter Schwachsinn drauf stand. Auf der Abrechnung der Kreditkarte hat dann alles gepasst. Der Kollege wurde dann nur ungeduldig, da er einen weiteren Termin in der Stadt hatte. Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Wer komplett sorgenfrei unterwegs sein will, Vor-Ort nach der Versicherung fur Reifen & Scheibe fragen. Ebenso prufen, ob man statt uber Avis & Europcar direkt uber Ilha Verde buchen sollte (Spart noch einmal ein paar Euro). Alle sind dann sehr nett, bis auf wie erwahnt in Sao Jorge. Je touristischer die Insel, desto besser die Wagen in der gleichen Klasse. Auf Sao Jorge war der Mietwagen in seiner Kategorie der alteste und schwachste, Sao Miguel & vor allem Faial dafur richtig spitze. Safe and happy travels! Absolutely satisfied with Faial. 5 Stars. Everything was great on Sao Miguel, Faial & Pico. 5 Stars! I was traveling on 4 islands in the Azores (Sao Miguel, Sao Jorge, Faial, Pico) and booked all rental cars online through Europcar. On site it became clear to me that Europcar (and also Avis) were handled locally by the provider Ilha Verde. Even if you book everything online, tire and windshield insurance are not included. No matter what you book online. Even if it says full insurance, always ask explicitly and plan an additional EUR8-11 per day if you want to travel completely worry-free (no involvement whatever the damage). So we had a completely worry-free package on all islands, which was a good thing for our routes (we were always a little off the beaten path). Everyone on Sao Miguel, Faial & Pico was very friendly. On Sao Jorge, Ilha Verde's invoices and services did not match the Europcar contract. After the wrong contract was booked three times and several conversations with the boss, I eventually just took the part, even if it said absolute nonsense. Everything was fine on the credit card statement. The colleague then just became impatient because he had another appointment in the city. Long story short: If you want to travel completely worry-free, ask about the insurance for tires and discs on site. Also check whether you should book directly through Ilha Verde instead of Avis & Europcar (saves another few euros). Everyone is very nice, except as mentioned in Sao Jorge. The more touristy the island, the better the cars in the same class. On Sao Jorge the rental car was the oldest and weakest in its category, Sao Miguel & especially Faial were really great. This is not the marine terminal. The Google location is in the middle of nowhere and totally wrong. The marine terminal is 2 km north of the google location.
