Lucky Owl Car Rental in Honolulu

Great price on an excellent car, pleasant staff - would definitely rent from them again. I took one star off because they forgot to put the boogie board or cooler (cant remember which, it was a few months ago and we visited 2 islands on the trip) into the car that I had added to the rental on the online form. They canceled the charge and would have given me the item if I'd wanted it, but by the time I realized it was too late to bother. The hybrid Ford mid-sized sedan they rented me was in excellent condition and cleanliness.... and really quite a sweet ride. I did choose a vehicle one or two levels up their price scale because even those cars were quite low priced compared to regular rental car rates. Shuttle bus pick up and drop off were on-time and problem free with pleasant drivers. Definitely get your maps app out with voice guidance or a good co-pilot navigator to get out of the industrial area where their store front is.... but this was easy with that assistance. Yeah, go for it... save yourself quite a few bucks with Lucky Owl... and feel good about renting from a locally owned company.

Lucky Owl is THE BEST CAR RENTAL COMPANY KNOWN TO MAN! I swear I will never rent a car from anybody else! They are so nice and it's super fast to pick up and even faster to drop off the car! Perfect rental service. I was considering not renting a car for my 6 day trip because a lot of the promoted services on travel websites were expensive or had awful reviews. I saw someone mention Lucky Owl on a message board, so I looked into it and found it to be both cheaper and better rated than just about anywhere else. The free shuttle service to and from the airport was a game changer, and the car was perfect for what we needed. The staff were all kind, and everything was hassle free. Would recommend to anybody

We truly enjoyed our island rental car during our week long visit. The entire experience with Lucky Owl was incredibly positive -- from the friendly staff, reliable car, to the tremendous value compared to just about every competitor. Any time we need to rent in Hawaii, we're going to go back to Lucky Owl!

My friend and I were traveling here for the first time and were excited to have a local company to rent from. The staff was excellent and accommodating. The price for a week of renting a car was incredible. Even when dropping off we hadn't signed up for a shuttle to the airport but they made an extra trip just for us. When we come back we will of course be renting a car from here again.

Update: I didn't realize this place specializes in rental to drivers under 25 until I've read other reviews. No wonder all the good reviews. I've rented cars over 8 times since June of this year (it's September now). All over the globe and this was definitely on the bottom of the list. If you like to drive an old beater, then this is a fine place for you. I wanted to give local proprietor my business even though it was more expensive than other national brands. Unfortunately, it was a mistake. First, it's not located at the terminal and it only has one shuttle. The time to pick up or return took longer. Next, it gave me a 2016 Optima with over 46,000 miles and it came with so many scratches and dings that I got tired just to take pictures of them as proof that I didn't cause them. I didn't know an 2016 Optima rental would still be on the road. It was in a rough shape as there was a pause when you step on the accelerator. The interior has multiple spots of what I don't know. See pictures. Finally, it sent me no less than 4 notices to bring the car back on time. And it expected me to vacune the interior before returning. Other reviewers gave good reviews probably didn't read the fine prints of the contract or the repeated notices from this place.

Loved our little hoopty ride for the week. Super easy pickup and drop off and we were happy with what we paid. "Island vibes rental" they call it. No frills, older model car with 80k miles on it. Loved the price and the friendly service. Seems like they rent newer cars as well but we went with the economy island vibes class. Cool little company fighting the big rental guys. Would recommend.

Lucky owl was really easy to rent from, especially as an under 25 driver. It was easy to locate, check in/check out, and was reasonably priced. Our little ford fiesta took us all around Oahu like a breeze. I would definitely recommend you rent a car from here! Plus their rental building is so cute and has the cutest cats!
