Terrible. Booked a car on a Saturday and we got the run around from the people at car sales saying that they were open. Meanwhile the gate was closed. Turns out they are not open on Saturdays! Got a car at Avis across the street. Suggest you not go with Herz. Don't come here.
Don't choose the manager's special. For us it turned out to be a truck. It rains so constantly that it would have soaked our luggage. Our only option was to pay more than double for a different vehicle. At least the employee Kayla was very nice. She let us rent a brand new vehicle that's never been rented before. She even offered us a ride back to the airport when we returned it.
It's kind of far from everything but the airport, but there's a Hertz in the airport. I couldn't get my rental because my card issues, but I hope to get one as soon as I can. I hope they help me. They have good customer service and the agents are helpful.
Kayla , and nani helped me with my rental problems . Truly awesome , they offered me every product. Then took the time to explain , the pros and cons. Then left it up to me to choose . I rented from January to August. Was too busy having Fun ! Also sending a shout out to management and support crew.
Kayla and the ladies did such a great job in helping me with my rental! This is my first time working as an UberEats delivery person and the process was smooth and uncomplicated. I was able to pick up a 2023 Ford Escape with only 20k miles on it and it was thanks to the ladies!

I am dissatisfied with the service received at the Hertz Car Rental located at 452 Kalewa Street, Honolulu, HI 96819. The employees exhibited low morale and a reluctance to address issues proactively. I encountered a serious problem with a Tesla rental where the rear tires repeatedly lost air. Despite reporting this, the staff failed to take action, compromising safety and service reliability. During the Easter weekend, the situation worsened. I sought assistance for the tire issue but found the Hertz office closed and received no support from adjacent departments. Roadside assistance directed me to a vendor who was unable to service the electric vehicle tires due to their imminent closing time and policy restrictions. This not only impeded my ability to drive safely but also affected my ability to meet my trip minimums. The lack of effective communication was highlighted by contradictory information provided by different employees regarding the payment for the tire repair. This led to confusion about whether I would be reimbursed after paying out-of-pocket, as suggested by one employee, while another denied the possibility of a refund. It was only after persistence and further research that I found a Firestone location willing to repair the tire, yet I encountered issues with the voucher system, causing additional delays and uncertainty about reimbursement. The entire ordeal demonstrated a clear lack of coordination and commitment to customer service at this Hertz location. Ensuring vehicle safety is a basic requirement that was not met, and the overall handling of the situation was unsatisfactory. For these reasons, I would hesitate to recommend Hertz to friends or colleagues, particularly the Honolulu branch, until there is evident improvement in service quality and communication.
The shuttle from the airport was quick and easy for me. When they drop you off, you need to go up stairs there was two sets of elevators, and everyone went to the same one. I was able to get on the other one, but no one noticed, and they all waited and like they had no clue about the escalator either. I don't drive Nissan usually. The Rouge was good, but I had to look up how to put it in reverse. I was able to laugh at myself. Good times......
