Cobey is the best staff i have ever interacted with. I lost my stuff in the rental car and had to leave oahu without being able to pick it up. Cobey actively follows up with me and mail to me. Though some work is not even his responsibility. Would definitely come back for rental!

The staff was rude and asked me to leave after insisting on receiving either the car I booked or a price adjustment for the one they had. I booked a Jeep Wrangler for $387 for one day and was offered a "dirty" Chevy Malibu at the same rate. Beware: Avis will take your reservation for anything, anywhere, whether they can deliver it or not. Then they will refuse to help and tell you to "take it or leave it." This is not the only game in town or even the only one at this hotel.

Only one person at the desk so it takes forever to get your car. I went early to get my prepaid car but after waiting about 40 minutes and realizing I wouldn't be able to make it to my Hanauma bay reservation I had to leave and take an Uber instead. Called them to ask if they would move my booking to another day but they weren't helpful at all. Pick another location or another company.

Only rented the car for 20 hours and got charged for 2 days. Would not recommend. Feels like a scam. **EDIT** upon closer inspection, rate is actually for early return, not 2 day rate like employee said. Employees said there's be no cost to early return when asked, and a different employee said that this was a 2 day rate so there's a certain level of misunderstanding going on here. Would still not recommend.

Great location and great rates. Plenty of cars if you book more than 24 hours ahead. Not much last minute. No key drop but can park in the garage overnight and return keys the next morning. Note there are two parking garages. The first on the right is not the one. Take the second right then a left.

Normally have good-to-great service from Avis. This location was different. My flight was delayed by a couple of hours and I would not make the pick up time. I had a friend and I try to call them but they would not answer. The national number stated that if flights are delayed that the reservations are automatically held for 24 hrs. The next day at the pickup location, the employee would not drop the charge for one day, saying he had no power to do that. Furthermore, the total cost was higher than my quoted cost by about $30. The vehicle he gave us was filthy. It had trash in the center console, and rear. There was sand, dirt, and plant debris in the vehicle, including the trunk. I went back to the desk to ask for a clean vehicle, and the employee was no where to be found, but there was a line forming of people waiting. After the employee who cleans the cars came by (he was leaving for the day, and would not stay to clean any cars) he called the desk employee and informed him of the long line waiting for him. When he got to us, he said he had no clean cars available in the class we reserved, and that we could either take a dirty car, or cancel the contract. We asked about upgrades to a class with a clean car (which in all other rental locations, I've had done without requesting it) and he would not. With this service, I was afraid to drop off the vehicle at this location for fear of delays and risk of arriving late to the airport. I requested from Avis to be able to return the car to the airport and they said they would charge me about $457 more.....

Possibly the worst car return I've ever experienced. Have fun first trying to figure out where to drop the car, then taking 15 minutes being confused ascending the parking lot to the 7th floor where there's the tiniest sign "for avis return customers only". Then going down to the Sheraton lobby when it's 4:05pm just for the Avis rep to tell you he's off work and can't literally just take back the keys. Then going to international market place where it's a literal geocaching adventure trying to find the drop box including "head NW to the double glass doors" yeah lemme just pull out my compass. Good luck trying to return your car in under an hour.

First day I had a rental the location was out of cars and was not able to get one for me even though I had a confirmed reservation. Second day when I actually got a car they gave me a vehicle that was not clean, wasnt full on gas, and had a ton of dents. Terrible customer service on the return and they refused to reimburse for gas difference despite proof of fuel discrepancy. I would avoid this location if possible.

Used when staying at Sheraton Waikiki. Rent a car for one day and head towards Diamond Head - Farmers - Haleiwa. It seems like we leave around 8:30 and arrive around 18:30. Reception starts at 8:00, but if you have time, it will go smoothly if you line up about 15 minutes early. There is a 15 to 20 minute line each time. After getting the key and park ticket, go to the 7th floor of the Sheraton multi-storey parking. The number is attached to the key, so look for it or press the key and honk the horn to find it. The exit is on the 1st floor, so do not enter the automatic payment machine [If you enter by mistake, it will display about $75] *Caution* There will be someone in front of the totalizing machine, so hand over your parking ticket and show them your Avis contract. Now you can exit the gate. We are leaving, but inside the barque, we suddenly have to drive on the right, which is the opposite of Japan.I get confused every time, so be careful.I think the navigation system is difficult for Japanese people to operate, so I have been using a mobile navigation instead of using the option. I will. If you are heading towards Diamond, go from right to left on Kalakawa Avenue, and towards Ala Moana, go left. To return the car, take a parking ticket from the machine on the opposite side of the exit, insert it to avoid the sun, and park on the 7th floor. (Actually, I think it was on the 5th floor. If you go to the top floor, there will always be a vacant space, so its easier to just go up without worrying about it.) Give the key to the receptionist around 7:30 the next day and youre done. Are you careful about oversleeping?

Its in the Sheraton lobby. It is located in the lobby towards the swimming pool. The location is good and convenient, but there is a downside. This rental car is a great location for accommodations on the east coast of Hawaii. You can rent a car at 8 oclock and return it to the same parking lot where you rented it. Sheraton parking lot 7th floor. However, you must return the key at opening time at 8:00 the next day. This is a rental car company that you need to check carefully later because they ask you to open your card and charge you again even if you have paid in full.

Disappointed in Avis. I m a long term Avis user and have never had an Avis fail me. I arrived with a reservation and they did not have any vehicles available. Ruined my plans for the day in this beautiful island. Additionally their front desk is worthless and does not know how to treat customers. Cannot recommend. Go elsewhere.

Since there is only one staff member, there is a long waiting time to get to the reception desk. I had to stand and wait for almost 60 minutes. My car is old. I rented a convertible, but it broke down halfway through and wouldnt open. They told me to return the key by 3:00 even though the store is open until 4:00, but when I went to the reception to return the key before 3:00, it was written on the board that I would be back at 3:30, so I was in a hurry. Even though I came back, the staff was too sloppy.

The location of this rental office is very convenient for taking out and returning a car but the customer service is poor. The office is only open from 8:00-4:00 pm and nobody answers the phone. Information and instructions are hard to get.

It s a little frustrating that I can t get to the person at the location called multiple times. I had misplaced my hat in the vehicle, no way to find out if I will ever get it back!! Tried calling Avis customer support but they gave me the same number that did not go through please help!!!!

I reserved a rental car weeks ago. I got a phone call 15min before when I was supposed to pick up my car that they cancelled my reservation because they don t have cars. I was furious. You can cancel but you should have given me a heads up instead of telling me 15min before I pick it up. And no apology at all. Super frustrating service there. Already filed a complaint.

Great customer service, we had issues with a flat tire and the employee helped us swap out the car and even offered us a free upgrade and discount for the inconvenience. Pick up was a little slower than expected because there was a line and only one employee at the desk, but dropoff was pretty fast, just park the car and drop the keys off at the desk (skip the line). There is no after-hours drop off but you can leave the car in the lot and drop off the keys the next morning at opening.

Very poor service. I rented a car, which of course wasn t filled up, in the rental agreement it was stated that it s full. Secondly, Jesus, the car was filthy, the trash was still inside for the previous renters, sand everywhere, console was covered with croissant crumbles. If that s the service you provide here, I m very sorry for the people who expects some standards here, it might not be the case.

An incredibly challenging place to drop off an Avis vehicle by ones self. Guessing many just pay a Bellhop to do it and now I know why.. It took me over a half-hour, and the local desk, which hardly answers the telephone, was little help. Heres the instructions, which are absent from Aviss data (the website is scant and the representative at the national call center had no clue). There is hardly any signage: 1. Take a ticket as if one is parking at the Sheraton Waikiki hotel and drive all the way up to the top (7th floor) of the parking deck. 2. There is no key drop-off, or instructions up there. Park towards the back of the roof (in the direction of the beach). Lock the car and take the key. 3. Elevator down to the sprawling Sheraton lobby, and then ask 2~3 Sheraton staff where the Avis desk is (its not obvious) by the Koi Pool. 4. If there is no one at the desk, drop your key in the box. Leave a note. Take a picture with your phone just in case.

FYI, this Avis location allows you to drop off the car anytime 24 hours in the parking garage, but you need to drop off the key **only during the business hours**. There is no drop off box for car keys (as in March 2024) Otherwise, this location is great. Staff were super friendly. Cars are in good conditions in general. And picking up and returning are relatively easy.

The AVIS at the Sheraton Waikiki location is HORRIBLE! The cars are FILTHY, the front desk guy is lost, the line is long, and it takes forever to get out of the parking garage.
