So I rented a car at this place in Guadalajara airport 3 weeks ago (I knew I should have gone with MEX auto rentals) anyway so the price was 240 at the airport so they convinced me. Once I got to the office the price change to $500 because some insurance so I told the lady that i didn't want the insurance because my credit limit was only 500 on my credit card than supposedly she took it out. And the price was like 265 plus deposit another 250 so I agree to it because they told me that deposit was go to be back in my card within 3 days Come to find out that she did charge me for the insurance and never return the deposit back now I'm over my limit on my credit card. And I'm talking to all this different people trying to fix this problem.
I recently rented a car from OPTIMA during an international trip and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. During our week-long rental, we took great care of the vehicle, ensuring it remained in excellent condition. However, upon returning the car, we were charged a substantial amount for supposed damages to the undercarriage, where all the oil had leaked. This issue not only left us stranded for three hours but also resulted in a $419 towing charge. To make matters worse, their mechanic claimed that we were responsible for additional damages to the oil pan and oil filter ($1200). I find it unacceptable that we were held liable for these hidden and seemingly preexisting damages, given the vehicle's otherwise impeccable state. Being in an international country, we had no choice but to pay the charges upfront. However, we plan to dispute these unfair and unfounded costs as soon as we return to the United States. I believe that a car rental company should prioritize providing reliable vehicles and ensuring their customers are well taken care of. In this instance, OPTIMA failed to meet these expectations, leaving us with unexpected charges and a sour taste in our mouths. I would hesitate to recommend their services to others based on this experience.

This place has excellent service. Staff was extremely helpful, specially Luis who picked me up from my hotel after finding me a rental with limited availability. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. I highly recommend Optima Rent a Car.
