Europcar Granada staff was very kind, helpful and professional. They spoke excellent English and provided top-notch support. We rented a Ford Eco in an excellent condition, which we returned at the Malaga airport. Both the pick-up and return went smoothly with no issues whatsoever.
SCAMMED BY INTERNATIONAL COMPANY!! DO NOT RENT CARS FROM HERE. They will serve you with a smile and lie to your face. Paper work to sign is in Spanish. I said no to everything yet I was charged for all the extras even though I had paid on the website in FULL prior to pickup. DO NOT PROVIDE CREDIT CARD DETAILS. They have charged me 3 times $213 AUD upfront Then they held $300++ which they have kept and are arguing that was a return fee to the other location. Now another $115 They will not take responsibility and you WILL not get your money back from these thieves. Here a photos for proof. Over $650 for half a day car rental. Please Europcar do not give me your dumb auto generated reply...it's simply not good enough....ive contacted support like you've advised on other reviews and I've received no support or refunds. GO TO HELL.
DO NOT HIRE A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE SCAMMED US AND SO MANY PEOPLE AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. We hired a car from Granada to La Linea. We pre-booked it online to ensure we had a car secured. The Granada office asked if we wanted a bigger car and my partner said no. She asked for a credit card to hold the bond and she confirmed that the bond would be released upon final check of the car. To our disappointment it wasn't a bond, they had deducted the AUD$320 from our credit card. We raised a complaint with the offices in Australia who tried to tell me that the $320 was an additional payment for an upgrade (which we declined) and for the one way trip which made no sense at all as when I booked it online it said the one way fee was included in the car hire cost. Today my partner checked his bank account and they have taken a further AUD$115!!! I have a sneaky feeling that this company is in liquidation and this is how they are repaying back their debts. We are still in the process of trying to get our money back.
Don't book a car using this fraudulent Europcar location, with employees which won't hesitate to lie to your face. The pick up of our leasecar seemed to go without problems. We were only asked (as expected) to provide our credit card for a deposit reservation, since we had already paid all lease fees and insurances upfront. We were guaranteed that the deposit would be returned in full upon return of the car. However upon returning the car at EuropCar Malaga we were told that a large fee would be deducted from the deposit, because (according to them) we had recieved a car upgrade. That upgrade apparently was the fact that the car had an automatic transmission instead of a manual. Nobody offered us a car upgrade during the pick up, nor did we agree on any upgrades. The lease contract we recieved (and signed), apparently listed an item in Spanish that (according to Europcar) indicated the upgrade. We did ask about that unclear item on the contract before signing, but we were told not to worry about it: according to the Europcar employee in Granada it was just listed there to indicate the car catagory we had booked and had already paid for. We were guaranteed it would not influence the return of the deposit. We clearly lied too and the whole experience was a big scam to charge us a large additional fee on top of the prepaid reservation fee. We did, off course, reach out to Europcar Servicedesk afterwards via email, but we were told we had signed for an upgrade, had recieved an upgrade and we were therefore charged with an upgrade. The fact that we were lied to by the fraudulent employee of their Granada Estacion branche was completely ignored. Please be warned: take your business somewhere else, unless you like to be scammed out of your money
Two points which Europcar will not told you when you do reservation, which is quite disappointed:- 1. Please be careful if you need to return the car from this branch office, especially on Sunday after office hours. It requires you to SELF-SERVICE to park the vehicle in a specific car park far from the branch office; I suggest you search Google Maps / Waze before driving. Then, you need to find the "drop-in box" in Europcar's parking spaces and drop the key with a contract in the drop-in box. 2. Vice versa, if you collect the car from this branch, the staff will only provide you the car parking ticket and key. You need to WALK TO THE CAR PARK IN 15 mins and drive the car from the car park (you need to be more careful as Europcar's reserved parking space is in the basement, and you need to drive a narrow road when you go out). If you have baggage, then please expect to take more time.
This review is only for returning your car to the parking lot. We had to do this when we returned the car on Saturday after they closed. First, we had no idea that we had to return the car to the local parking garage. Second, the instructions for where the parking lot is located were terrible - simply a piece of paper posted on the office window with a map - an exact address would have been beneficial assuming there is one. I have attached a photo to help those in the future!!

I very rarely write negative reviews but this place allowed us to make an online booking for 14:00 on a Sunday and never said they close at this Time and tbh at we need to be there prior our booking time We arrived at 14:05 and there was no one there. No emails or calls to say you're not here for your booking yet and we're about to close for the day. Just makes me thing what the employee thought when it was 13:55 and no one showed up yet. No emails or calls to check on the people? Just leave them without a car in the peak of the season. Definitely made the holiday challenging and had to change all our plans as there was no available cars in any company. Would think before booking again
