I booked a rental car from November 24th but i visited 25th and they said that the car I booked was not available. I couldn't understand it. If my reservation was from the 24th to the 29th, shouldn't my car be guaranteed between then? Then, they forced me to make a choice quickly and late at night, knowing that I had no other choice. I had to pay 36 euros per day and choose a bigger car, or just go home. I had no other choice, so I paid the cost and took the car, but it's so hard to accept. Where is my car and how could this happen? It's hard to believe that this happened at Avis, a global rental car company.
Called the desk a few days before pricking up the car. There was a problem with my booking, they told me to solve when picking up the car. When I arrived in Granada, this turned out not to be possible unless we paid 2,5 time the original price extra. We did it because we had no other choice, but it's not okay to say changes can be made, then it turns out it's not possible and then ask for a crazy amount of money to make it possible. Would definitely NOT recommend.
I rented a small SUV via Budget Rent, apparently a brand of Avis. Tarif & quality were relatively good compared to other offers on this airport of Granada. Service also okay. I took an extra insurance to cover every own risk of eventual damage, it costs a substantial extra amount but is wise to do so i.m.o. I booked everything in advance via my flight booking, I have the impression this saved me some money.
Top notch service and very professional staff. Def going back! All very quickly done by the app and staff very lovely
The front counter staff member at Granada was very good. He was wonderful. Friendly, english speaking and helpful. Despite their best efforts the navigation system didnt work and the cost for a 1 x way 3.5 hour trip was very expensive.
Easy to reserve, easy to pickup and drop off at the end of the booking. Counter staff were superb and super friendly. Will definitely be renting from them again when I am back in Granada.
I am writing as a long-time and dedicated Avis customer. My past Avis domestic and international experiences have been uniformly professional and of high quality, which is what makes my experiences in Granada and Malaga, Spain (4:00 pm, Apr 21 to 2:00 pm April 22, 2023) so disappointing. My wife and I arrived at the Avis office in the Granada rail station about 4:30 pm to find the office closed with a sign on the window indicating the agent was in the lot and would return in 5 minutes. She returned at 5:00 pm, but knew us by name and the pick up was quick. She informed us she had upgraded us from a Ford Focus to a VW Golf, but she didn't tell us the Golf has a manual transmission, which we did not find out until we located the car a block away from the office. It had been many years since I had last driven a stick shift, but we were already late for a commitment and decided to keep the car. However, managing the clutch an unfamiliar car as we drove through heavy traffic in a foreign country turned out to be extremely trying and downright scary when I killed the engine in the middle of a busy roundabout. As bad as this was, our experience with the return in Malaga just as bad. We had someone waiting to pick us up at the station, but we arrived over an hour late, mostly due to issues with the Golf plus even more issues with the return. The Avis return was in a garage beneath the rail station, but there were no Avis personnel to accept the car or direct us to where it should be parked. We had received no drop off instructions when we received the car, so we picked an Avis parking spot at random and left the car there. There were NO instructions anywhere as to what we should do next. After several minutes of searching for somebody associated with Avis we finally found someone to whom we could communicate "Avis" and he pointed up, supposedly indicating the office was upstairs in the station. We found an elevator and then the Avis office, where a young lady took our fob and WiFi. When I told her we had wasted 10-15 minutes in the garage trying to figure out how to return the car, she replied indifferently, "There are no information in the garage." Having to wait close to 30 minutes for the agent to appear at the Grenada office, receiving a manual shift car without our consent, rather than the automatic we had reserved, and returning the vehicle without any guidance or the presence of Avis personnel, resulted in a very hectic rental experience that created considerable anxiety and delay for us on both ends of what we had planned to be a short, pleasant drive through Spain's beautiful countryside. Based on this experience, I could not recommend Avis to anyone.
Very good client service and outstanding cars! Granada Airport is a small airport, nevertheless I appreciated the proximity of the Avis Rental Car office to the parking. The staff are professional and very friendly. I have rented cars from different venders at Granada Airport and Avis has been the best so far! Well done, especially the team on ground!
