Just rented a car from Avis here at Granada Train Station (Oct 24). Great experience, smooth pick up and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They also offered a free upgrade, which made my day. Side note is that the google map location is incorrect and it's actually inside of the train station.
My experience with Avis - Granada ( September 2024) was very good in both , pick up and return . Cost was fair , location was easy to access and the lady at the reception desk was supportive as well . Will approach them again by next visit to Granada. Gracias
We rented a car in Spain for one day from Malaga to Granada. I returned the car with full tank and no damage (I took a video before and after the rental) and well before time. However my rental was charged more than 300EUR extra as misc charges. There is no explanation. It looks like this is a common complaint on Granada location when I check other Google reviews. Already messaged them on X social platform and called their customer service to open a dispute. SAVE the headache and don't rent with them!
Worst Avis location I've seen in 15+ years of preferred member. First after-hour drop off attempt failed because I couldn't even find the office in the parking garage. Next day morning, spent 20 min in the parking garage to find Avis employee and the office. "Please return the key to the train station" sign in the parking garage was not helpful for someone who are new to the place. Just a simple direction to the office would've helped me dropping off the key on the first attempt. Next morning, I explained all the trouble I had previous night, but the employee charged me more than 160 euro (one day rent fee, which is already unreasonably expensive) for 3 hour overtime. It was the worst Avis experience I've had in my 15+ years of Avis preferred member. One thing to add - I saw other rental car companies' employees helping customers in the parking garage in a outdoor table.
My wife and I dropped our rental car off a day early, and within an hour we had a bill emailed to us for over 1,000 Euros (above the actual cost of the rental) in extra fees and false damages. Based on reviews, this location has a history of falsifying costs and cheating customers. We will not be paying this and will be contacting our credit card company to cancel payment and dispute the charges. We'll go to the authorities if we have to.
We returned our car a day earlier than planned. Within minutes of them reopening after siesta, we received falsified photos showing "damage", a quote for over 700 Euro to fix said "damage" and an additional 800 Euro mystery charge on our invoice for the original booking. We will be contesting these charges with our credit card company. Do not rent from these scammers!
Overall very good experience both during booking and by the employees at the office. Our car had a suspected tire leak when we received it, and when we notified them they were quick to check it and provide us with a different car. They were transparent about fees and costs, and there were no extra charges added afterwards.
Not a good experience. I come to Spain very often and more, particularly to Granada. I used to rent a car from other companies. At the end of January, I decided to test Avis for the first time, and it will be the last time. I used the quick pass that was not quick since only one person had to deal with many passengers. However, the guy in charge was nice. However, even though I refilled the tank at the entry of the airport they charged me 36 euros for fuel. After my reclaim, they told me that it was not the case. It is a robbery, and I will not forget this lie. There are many other companies that rent cars.
